Jane what do you not like about your bear? I am confused, because I think he is magnifiscent.....so what does your eye not like?
Dilu
Here is Mr. Stanley Gardner looking for tomatoe worms.....he climbe up to the top of the plants because he knows the worms like the new foliage best......yuck Stanleykins, I hope you don't find any....
I am sooo impressed with the two dolls, Shari and Nance. So beautiful the faces and the yorkie dog is cute too...what great talant
Kim, there have been incidents of people ODing- but it was from metabolic disturbances and/or drinking their days alotment all at once. :/
I use quart sized bottles to keep track of where I am in the water cycle
I have actually had people tell me they were allergic to water.....hmmmm
Heather- I am unsure how old you are ( which can have a bearing on the swelling) and also unsure if you have cardiac problems- or if you take medications like prednisone, but you my dear, should probably stick to whatever your doc says. :(
Jossen: I probably have the least stressed life of any body on the board. I have one of those angels come to earth husbands whose only complaint about me in life is that the music or tv is too loud. He doesn't care if he has to fix dinner, or he can't see the floor, or if I want to go shopping at Intercal, etc.
The only thing he cares about is that I don't drive when on my headache medication. (that's easy-he drives)
I start the morning in the spa, end the day in the spa and in between pretty much do whatever I want. Gosh I wish I had had this life about a million years ago. But I probably would not have appreciated it as much as I do now
Ahhh welll.....those of us who can will drink and those who can't be careful in the hot weather. :D
We don't want to loose anyone from the bad hot weather.
Once i had such laryngitis I couldn't even croak.;....and the doctor I worked for had also gotten a certified in accupuncture- so he did it on me and it worked completely-no croaking, no hoarsness....I have seen it work on other problems as well.
Nance-such unbelievably beautiful jewlry. I am so impressed!
So beautiful so lovely so wow!
Thank you for posting your pictures-what a gift you have given us to see this ring. Wow
dilu
Im glad to be back too but I am keeping them (headaches) suppressed.....He(Stanley) seems to like the great outdoors.
hmmmmmm
If I make a Juliewoggikins Childiwog will she do the cooking?
Babettikins - to clean the bathroom
Luigiewolly for Friday night Pizza?
Mr. Gollygoodwrench to keep the cars in tip top shape?
Merry Popupins to keep the real little gollikins in line?
Oh my, where does it end....?

Nanc
I most def. do not believe you have flipped out! You silly girl....I thnk you are very smart
Nanc- it is so very kind of you to mention fluids....however you probably do not know that my tombstone has already been picked out and engraved...." she did too drink her water.":lol:
As a Registered Nurse I am all too aware of the importance of fluids, not to mention that it makes your skin look more dewey and younger, and at 53, I am also all to aware of that too ;)
However, and here is where we diverge, I advocate for 2 quarts of water besides any juices and teas etc you might drink. And here is why:
Our kidneys and liver filter out the toxins in our system and just about everything has some toxins attatched to it. By drinking juices and teas etc we are adding to the work of our kidneys and liver, ....so I teach water first and everything else is gravy...well, ok not gravy, but extra.
Now I am glad you brought up this post because many of us here are over the age of 50. And when you get older, (50+) you start to loose the signal that you need to drink more water. Every year we hear of older folks dying durring a heat wave, and it is because their bodies didn 't kick in and help keep them cool through sweating and also didn't alert them to drink pleanty of fluids. For some of our senior senior citizens it is very difficult to get them to drink enough water.
Also anything with caffine in it helps promote the dehydration process-the caffine acts as a diuretic-causing the body to excrete more fluid than would be desireable unless suplemented in another fashion- also too much sugar can do the same thing....ergo I strongly encourage WATER.
OK so here it is
Nanc and I encourage everyone TO DRINK YOUR WATER!!!
We seem to have gotten things down to a happy medium, (know how to make a medium happy? Cross her palms with silver)
The good thing is the pain is down to a tolerable level- and I have actually slept the last 2 nights. (you can get very very wonkybad when you go tooo many nights without sleep)
But now there are 22 new posts.....these may take a few seconds to read through.:lol::lol:
Thank you all for your kind warm and fuzzy thoughts- I did what you said, there I am in bed with two warm and fuzzy purring furrbabies and then the menagerie- I had 13 gollies cut out and jointed- I hate that part of the job, jointing, adding armatures, ugh!
But I find that as I stuff the personalities start emerging. Makes one feel like a real Michelangelo...:D:lol::D
look who did the gardening for me while I ate bonbons and read fashion mags!

Congratulations Mark....and welcome.....I have been off for a few days and get to come back this morning and discover that you have decided to come and play with us! Yiippeeeeee!
I have a separate bank account in a bank that we do not use for all our other accounts or mom's accounts. I keep enough in it to be able to order supplies on a whim but not enough for any real damage to be done were it to fall into nefarious hands. Also this way everyhting on it is business related ( I say this tongue in cheek as I have a hard time really viewing this as a business) and makes accounting easier.
Daphne and Louise just gave us some great advice and I wil print up what she posted and take it with me next time I actually set foot in the business bank. so far I've been very lucky with the people who have ordered from me.
I am really happy for you to take this big step-it is an addicting process. Thank goodness it is leagal! :D
Welcome again, look forward to reading your insights and experiences

I am going to not post or read for a couple of days-I have been batteling a headache, for 17 days now, and the longer it goes on the less sense I make ( ouch this is hard to admit so) and the more my typing degrades and spelling...well we all know about my spelling
Thids is nothing serious- it is just a weird idiopathic thing I battle....I have a wonderful doctor who qworks ==well with me and we are still trying to find out why this happens. :D
the headache usually dat=k takes about 20-21 days before it breaks-and yes I do have wonderful leagal medications that do help but never eliminate it completely.....so its gotton to the point where I jsut need to shut down./ hopedcul hopefully back soon- I shall miss you guys....
I can't say don't have fun while I'm down and out but that would be ridiculous-so if you are going to have fun-at least post it so we can all catch up! :)
gollygeewhiz I love you guys-miss you!
di:(
That's it.....I'm calling Quy

Oh my goodness! Fabulous. Fantastic. Original. Unique.
WOW
You are one increably talanted gal- that's for sure.
Wow

Wow
Dilu:rolleyes:
Oh PenPen
I am so sorry you are having these problems again. I am also sorry about the bear fair, but I am more concerned about your health.
It must be so very very wearing on you. And galbladder pain is particularily painful, and can involve the whole body in pain.
I sincerly hope this infection is quickly cleared up. Will they do they surgery laprascopically?
Well you keep us posted about when and where etc?
Best wishes- the gollies are all very desolated about the news.
hugs and gollygrins.....glad you made a new friend.....
Dilu
Oh Pen,
It really was meant in jest...
However, I do remember the night I took a shower and grabbed the towel, being blind as a bat without glasses, and out jamped my son's 8 " plastic and fake fur toy tarantula.
I am sure he was very gratified by the horrendous scream, for when I opened the bathroom door he was rolling on the floor, laughing his, well you know, off, (which is just as well, as it saved him from a horrendous corporal punishment cruelly created just for him)
It was so very difficult being angry at him, he had such a wonderful sense of humor and employed it so creatively. I truly miss his antics and hijinks- Why do they have to grow up?
My mother thought I spoiled him. hmmmmm.....I once pointed out it was better than abusing him and she didn't speak to me for a week.
Yes, I see now, where the poor child got his sassiness. Obviously his fathers side of the family, no?
Ahhh well....perhaps we should let the wiggellyjiggellies fade and not tease you any further......
I did say there was almost always a song for every situation....I would remember that one.....:P
The parrot loves it!
Golly hugs
Dilu
Congrats to Paul....son or honey? How fabulous
2 artists in the family.....what a lucky family!
Have a wonderful time, and come back safe and happy! :D

Dilu's favorite cat picture.....I took laundry outside to hang up-( I actually like to hang up the laundry during the summer-call me old fashioned)
When I came back in they had already climbed in and were feeling pretty smart till I started the rinse and fluff cycle!
Oh you sillies....I was just teasing, butI did shut the door and take a quick picture.
Now I always make sure the door is closed before I leave the area.....I would hate to have a for real accident with one of them......yikes!:(
I did laught my self silly
ok

Catherine, in case you haven't noticed, none of us follow the rules here, and boy am I glad!
I love the photo you posted of your horse.
Aren't our 4 legged furbabies fascninating- they are so smalrt ( well except for Suki my female Burmese cat.......it's bad, very bad.....She is soo dumb she would have to climb out of a 10 foot hole just to be considered dumb)
I love that they have specific personalities, likes and dislikes, and can make us do things just because they want too. My fine feathered friend Kirah is psychic.....and loves to have her name used in silly little songs. I buy her fisher price baby toys because she likes to make the lights go and the songs sing....like a baby would!
Suki's brother Kwatzu is as smart as she is dumb, and he and the Parrot work in collusion together.
Also we have had to turn the door handles around so the locks are on the outside of the rooms because he likes to open the doors and carouse at night. And doesn't he think he's special!
Nanc-
just an off the wall observation-you ask for reginal recipies....meaning things eaten in our part of the world- then you post an interesting recipie
but
WHERE ARE YOU???
Also Your recipie looks yummy and tomarrow is shopping day!:D
what happened to Maries picture? :/
Here's an easy fun cookie if you get tired of making the same ol'
Make the traditional oatmeal cookie recipie from the box, but add a couple tablespoons milk, a handful of coconut and cut up gumdrops
DON'T USE BLACK ONES eat those while you cut up the gumdrops- they really taste icky icky in the cookies.
Bake as normal
but I recommend using parchment paper, and let the cookies set about 2-4 min before trying to move them to cooling rack- very sticky until they cool
Kids go bonkers over these....unfortunetly there is fat in these cokkies
So For Marie:
NO FAT Cookies for people like me that can't eat fat, Like Mr. Marie
4 egg whites room temp
1 teas. cream of tartar
1 cup bakers sugar ( granulated sugar that is extra fine....)
Beat the daylights out of the eggs-as though making meringue
now you can add just about anything you want. I have used:
finally chopped hazelnuts
chropped dried cherries
spices-nutmeg, cinammon apple pie spice- not my fav.
finely chopped almonds with 1 t almond flavoring
choco chips ( i used the mini ones)
I even use ground hazel nuts- makes an interesting cookie
I scoop the mess into a zip lock baggie and then squueze it out onto parchment covered cookie sheets
bake 300 farenheit oven-untill they are lightly brown on top
turn off oven but leave cookie sheets in oven untill cooled-
block oven door open a little
These won't last long-they disintegrate after about 2 days- so eat up!
Good enough for company Chicken:
take boneless breasts and pound with meat tenderizer hammer thingy
chop up fresh basil, tarragon, garlic
spray pan with Pam
add chicken, brown lightly on both sides, add enough white wine (any will do but the better the quality the better the flavor.) to cover
throw in garlic and herbs,
turn low and let simmer, the wine will turn into a nice sauce. Remove when the wine has boiled down enough to have thickened. spoon wine goop over chicken prior t searving
Marie, I always use skinless-the fat content is virtually nill.
Okeydokey--no piccs cuz these are my own recipies and who knew someone would want recipies? :)
I look forward to trying these recipies you guys have listed-tomarrow is hoping day.hmmm it's also shopping day so this will be fun
Dilu how come we don't have a hungry smilie?
OK I guess I didn't explain myself- can I still blame the schnaps?
What I mean is- is there something bout the bear that suggests the name, do you just pick at random, is it easy or hard for you, that sort of thing
Although I will check out the web site you mentioned-I especially like trhe nonsensical concept.....gee I wonder why?
Dillydallywonkerslylu
maybe I don't really need more nonsense in my life?
OOOOOOOPPPS
So busy wanting the answers to Daphne's questions forgot to tell you and Rita how beautiful the avatar is.....so very nice, as all the ones you have done here are!
Shelli I want all the answers you are going to give to Daphne.
I need help too
do you have a program, or a basic template?
How do you do this
Oops....we can't overlook the key factor
Talant
