Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Hi all
I am back in New Zealand after my wonderful trip to the UK. I was a away for a total of 4 weeks.
I had a very successful trip and  met many wonderful people while I attended the Hugglets Show.

Now the kids are back at school, it is back to the daily life of washing and house work.

I shouldn't complain as I am off to Melbourne Australia on the 23rd October for my last show of the year.
I am in the process of putting up some pics of my bears on my website so if you have a free moment over the next couple of days , have a look.

Please be patient as it has been a while since I inserted photos and I am a bit rusty!!!lol

to all the collectors I met , thanks for the sales and all the lovely comments made about my bears!

Well today is my last full day in the Uk
we head off tomorrow for LA
Couple of days there and then home and back to the 4 kids and Hubby.
I have had a very sucessful trip and met some wonderful artists and collectors
We have been everywhere
London,Bath,Whitney,Stratford-upon-Avon,Cambridge, Newmarket, and even over to Brugge (Belgium)
I have been very busy
However I haven' sewn a bear in ages and I have a show 2 and a 1/2 weeks from when I get back.
Hope to catch up with the people I met in weeks to come

Back in New Zealand on the 6th October

Hi all
Well I have now recovered from the show!!!
It was fantanstic, overwelming and very tiring. i was a bit lost for words and that is not at all like me

Sales were very good and there was a lot of interest  as well as sales to shops :dance:

I am still in London staying with my friend Susan in Cookham Dean having a lovely time with fellow artists Laraine (Raine Bears) and Karen Alderson(Australia). I do not leave the UK till1st Oct.

It was great to meet a lot of TTs as well as many artists that I have admired for many years.
It was nice to meet Paula, Ellen, Suzi,Louise,Lynne,Ruth,Gail and Yvonne as well as Wendy and Megan. Also I made a few new friends.

Hi all
Well I am a bit wary!! I have put the final touchs to the bears!!!
I have spent months getting my stock up and I have managed to get 32 bears made!!! :dance:

This is my first ever Hugglets show and I am a bit nervous.

I leave New Zealand on Monday night the 7th sep via Hong Kong arriving in London thurs 10th
I am going to try and take photos of the little darlings today and hopefully post them on tt before I leave

Reading through this thread has made me quite nervous!!!!!!

Travellling all the way from New Zealand, I am hoping the jet lag will not affect me.

I am showing my bears for the first time at the Hugglets Show. I am in Hall 2 stand 81A and right next to one of my idols in bear making
I am so excited to be meeting so many great bear artists. I think it will be quite overwelming

Hi all
I just want to share with you all my great success at the Teddy bear show I attended last weekend.
My new design 'Leo' won several awards Best original design, best in section and best proffesional artist.
I was extremely proud and overwelmed!!!

this is Leo. He is a bigger version of my dumpling series.
He is named after a dear friend who passed away from cancer yesterday.

Leo is my biggest bear this year...standing at 4 1/4 inches tall.
I really enjoyed making a larger bear for a change

HI all.
Here a little story of what Laraine and I have been up to in little New Zealand.

I love to promote the world of teddy bears to the general public

Many people know how passionate I am about bear making, and never shy to speak!!! :crackup:

In May Laraine (RaineBears) and I gave a talk about the bear club we belong to, as well as bear making, at our local library.

Five club members from our club spoke about different aspects of the bear world.

My job was to talk about the different fabrics that bears can be made from..and Laraine spoke about the ins and outs of bear making techniques !!

They are miniature bears 3 3/4 inches high and under

I hope you enjoy them. They are a few of the bears I took to the Hamilton Show New Zealand.
I took them at night so they all have a gold tint.
I have to take some new photos for my website.
