Hi Michael,
Sorry e-bay pulled your auction!
Even more eye-opening is the possibility that someone turned you in! Wow, that's news to the naive (talking about myself). I'm bad about "skim reading" so I listed a link to my web-pages on my three auctions....I think I did.....no one turned me in
but, I'm not really competition on any level....just a hobbiest and collector.
Hope you re-post Santa Bear with a link to his auction so we can find him.
Best wishes...hope it works out well this time!
Hugs,
JeannieB
Hi Sue,
Don't know if this helps....maybe someone more experienced will post....But, I have used velvet to make a bear and had similar problems. I hand sew .....I used very small stitches and for every five stitches I used a locking stitch. This helped keep the "gathering" from happening to me. I'm sure there is better advice out there.....and your little jacket looks great to me!
Hugs,
JeannieB
They are beautiful, Catherine! You are so talented!
Best wishes for your new venture.

"Mis Fit Swap" sounds great to me! Let us know when the "rules" come out??
I would love to see what a mini artist could do with this large, half sewn, upholstery velvet bear...or a fur artist with my half sewn (looks adorable so far...awesome design ) bunny...who are sitting by waiting for me to decide if it's worthwhile! Or the beautiful black curly kid mohair bear that I can't get myself to cut out....because I mess it up..it's black!
I have trouble with black! Hmmmm.....Let me know?
Hi Sue,
As a bear "collector", my currency converter is very handy. I browse for bears on e-bay UK and personal web-sites ......have no problem with the conversion. It only takes a second. Maybe list a link for a currency converter for your customers....or even invite them to ask you about it?? That can be positive for sales!

I agree with you Eunice! Almost every single teddy bear construction idea has been freely discussed and shared here on TT. Lot's of artists are wonderful about helping and sharing their ideas. I learned everything I know here....anytime I had a question...lot's of artists were willing to help me
...I still don't have a book! TT has such a wonderful group of very talented artists!! And you're truly right that it still takes perfecting and experimenting to get things to look how you want them to even when you have a good idea how to do it. Sounds like the puppetry thing is a good place to start.
I can't offer any advice on eyelids today....although I experimented with them for a couple of years before I started to "sew" bears. If you look at my web-pages...the "first crochet cat pattern" is from 2005. I made her lids from ultra-suede...but, they dont open and close. They might if you played around with it. I'd be happy to tell you how I made them if you want to fiddle around with it and try to get them to open and close. Who knows...it may work for you?! I'm working with my first double-neck joint tonight.....wish me luck!

Thank you TeddyB and Sue Ann for taking a minute to look! I am a late bloomer with all the computer stuff

Totally agree with Karen! The scarf must remind him of his mommy! There's nothing more warm, loving and secure than kittens nursing with their mommy

Love him to peices!!

Great question and answers! I use synthetics, alpaca, recycled fur, mohair and just about anything (including hubbys bath robe) that I imagine my creation to look and feel like!
I love working with synthetics, but have to admit: I cringe everytime I see a beautiful creation made out of "craft" synthetic. Perhaps that's one of the reasons that "imported", "premium" and "top of the line" synthetics still get overlooked as being high quality fur????
My avatar bear Honey is made from "premium" synthetic.....she is pictured beside Louis on my web page. Louis was made from a re-cycled sheared beaver coat. It's hard to tell from pictures sometimes exactly what quality fur you are getting, unless the artist states what type it is....hmmm....

JeannieB
Bitzy is sooo cute! I also love his little feet
Went to visit your web site....very sweet bears!
