Well, the Christmas miracle didn't happen but Julia got her New Years ornament.  I'm so glad that you like him Julia.

I have finally completed my swap ornament and it will be on it's way to my partner.  It will take a Christmas miracle for it to arrive before Christmas.  So, if you have not received your ornament yet, I may be your partner!  Rest assured, it is on it's way and I believe in miracles!

I was out buying my nephews their Christmas gift (undies, their mom said they needed them) and saw a lady with a black t-shirt on with a silver feather, just like my special ornament!  I was so excited that I nearly said something to her, but figured she'd think I was a whack job.  Thanks again Helen for my New Zealand treasure!

I had a table next to Bev one year at Expo.  Such a wonderful lady, super talented and so nice!  Congratulations to her!

Thank you Lynn!  I still don't have my ornament finished.  Fear not swap partner, it will arrive by Christmas!

Marilyn,
A shop owner once told me about a bear maker who used to supply her with bears.  The bears always came in stinky!  She had dogs and smoked.  She said that the only thing that would get rid of the stink was setting them outside for a week or two!  So, try putting the stinky critter outside for quite a while.  She was upfront with the lady who made them and told her not to expect to see them on the shelves until they were completely aired out.  You can always give it to a person that to feel obliged to give a gift to but don't really like!    bear_whistle

Probably the best cup of coffee he ever had!   bear_grin

There it is!  I was so busy trying to get some orders done that I didn't get a picture until I set up my back drop to photograph bears.  We don't put our tree up until Christmas Eve so I don't have a tree to hang it on yet.  But, it is being displayed on an ornament stand by my desk.  Thanks so much Helen!

After returning home from a couple of medical tests today, I had a nice surprise in the mail box.  My Christmas ornament arrived!  Thank you Helen!  My ornament came all the way from New Zealand!  I love the fact that it's New Zealand themed.  It's super cute and I plan to take a picture of it tomorrow and post it right here!  Helen also sent me a New Zealand key chain that will definitely come in handy with a new driver in the house.  You really made my day!

WOW, I'd best get on this.  I haven't even started!  If you signed up for this swap and your waiting, and waiting, and waiting for a package, I'm probably your swap partner.  : )  I don't decorate my tree until Christmas Eve so thought I had a while.  I suppose most decorate their trees early.  Secret partner, your package will arrive before Christmas, so don't worry!

Gosh, I'm a bit late in answering this post.  I have hand tufted mohair on bears before.  I do not use a felting needle.  For my technique, you need to use long mohair locks.  I simply separate a small strand of the mohair, thread it into a needle with a large eye and weave it in and out of the mohair backing.  You leave the ends long, then trim when you have finished tufting.  I'm sure I'm being clear as mud here but it is simple enough to do, just extremely time consuming.  I hand tuft whiskers in bunnies and kitties using the same method.

I've never done the ornament swap here but have on another forum.  It sounds like fun so I'm going to give it a go and sign up this year.

This is an adorable picture!  Does Cooper like wearing clothes or will he be happy when the stitches come out and he can run around in the buff again?

Thanks ladies.  Joanne, I drive the kids nuts when they go to craft stores with me.  I take forever picking out ribbons and things trying to find just the right colors.  Tyler usually starts sighing so I send him to the model cars and such until I'm done!

I must admit, I've been lurking only on Teddy Talk and not posting of late.  I do pop in to see everyone's new creations and they are all great!  Here's my latest, a giant 33 inch bear that will be featured in Dollmasters holiday catalog.

I think perhaps that they pushed this issue forward so they could distribute it at EXPO.  That is my best guess.  We have a new ad rep too.  I wish that they would notify advertisers when changes are being made to the magazine.  I will contact them and suggest that.

Karen,
I voted once and will have my hubby and kids vote too!  I'll also put the info on my facebook wall.

Good luck!
Alison
