When I decided to sell my bears I thought long and hard about the name I was to use. In the end I came upon the idea of taking part of my name and my husband's name to become 'Sarian', (Sarah & Ian). I wanted to involve him in some way as he has been my biggest fan and has never complained when the bears have had moments of taking over my life! Anyway, since the beginning of Sarian Miniature Bears I've never come across anyone or anything by that name until today...
A lady has started a part time job where I work and her first name happens to be Sarian. I have to admit that I was mighty surprised and felt compelled to ask her where the name came from. She told me that she has looked into it in the past as she wanted to know the history and as far as she is aware, it is an ancient Welsh name. When I told her the reason I was asking was because that's the name I use for my bears and the website, her expression turned to one of wide-eyed delight and she exclaimed "... so you're the lady who makes those lovely, tiny bears...?" I couldn't believe it! She told me that she kept coming across my website when she was researching her name. She was also amused to hear that it was a name I thought I'd just made up...
So, what a small world it is and so full of coincidences. Who would have thought that with all the moving around Ian and I have done since I started on my bear making path, it would be in a town in Wales where I would meet someone with the same name as my bears.
I also learnt from Sarian today that there is also a type of strawberry called Sarian, which she grows in her garden, obviously feeling compelled to do so because of the rare name. I'm happy to say that I will be sampling some in the summer
I just wanted to share this novel little tale with you all...
Hugs,
Sarah
He's a great little character! Well done on the needle felting too. It's something I keep meaning to try but never seem to be able to get the time to experiment.
He's great and I love all the accessories too.
There's no way your customer won't be pleased!
Wow! Lovely colours, lovely eyes and the nose is just gorgeous too!
Great character!
The whole rabbit is a great original look. Is that sassy fur you have used. The green tail is a nice touch too

Wendy
Hi Wendy, the rabbit has been made with a bright orange vintage upholstery fabric. I bought it a long time ago with some other colours but can't remember where from now - I think it came from Canada.... if memory serves me right.
The green tail, however, is Sassy fur. Sassy has done wonders for the miniaturists!
Eva & Shane, thank you for your lovely words too.
You bear is wondeful! Well done on your first design
Here is my latest rabbit. She is 4.1" from top of head to heel and her full details can be viewed on my website.

This is one of my orders which I've now completed for a lady who asked for this style of bear with bent legs in brown colours, which was to be named Roferupo. She has taken the first two letters of all her grandchildrens' names and put them together to make up the name for the bear, which will go to live with her daughter. A great way to name a bear!
He is 3" tall seated.
Great little bear. I love that fabric and the scruffiness it gives the bear - like he's had a lifetime of hugs
How wonderful! What a great guy - love everything about him - the fur, colours, expression, pose....
He's just great and made me smile lots! He has a rockstar look about him - must be the "barnet"....
Hugs,
Totally cute! Her face is adorable but you can see some cheekiness in there too
Oh, I'm smitten... Your little ellies are like chocolate; you always want more....
