Diane ~
I just don't see where there's anything to be gained by keeping information to yourself. Even if you and I have the exact same instructions (even with pictures) ... our results will be different, and so as we move forward with that particular technique, we'll adjust in our own way(s) and so on. Keeping "secrets" really doesn't do much to promote or propagate the art.
You're not stupid!
But yes.... how on earth could you stick a needle with that much doubled-cording thru the head, especially without the hole there first?
Well it sure wasn't easy, that's for sure. I can't wait to try new method. Should be a cake walk (comparatively). Hey, I'll have time to make that cake!
Thank you Shelli. As always,
Shelli ~
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Awl holes? Like say ... 1/4 deep?
If this is a viable method (which if I've interpreted correctly, it clearly is) ... I've spent some seriously needless time trying to force an 8" needle threaded with leather through the firmly stuffed head of a bear.
Excuse me ... I'm gonna be sick.
Oh no! What are curly wurlys?
Besides, who cares - everyone wants to be a blonde don't they?
Noooooooooo .... RED (well, auburn). Love it.
Oh OH OH
Sweetended condensed milk, my auntie keeps an open can in the fridge and takes a spoon of it as she walks by....I love it too, but not quite that much.....
Eww ...
Okay ... now Dilu, when are you making yours? I'm going to shoot for Friday or Saturday. Rolos are sometimes hard to find here (believe it or not). I'm short on time this week, so may try the box cake version this time around. Hubby can hardly wait.
Yum, yum, yum!
Fran ~
Sucking out the top ... hahahahahahahahahahaha!
I love it .... and you.
Ice Magic ... Dilu maybe like Magic Shell?
Where the heck is that Matilda?
Ok, finally got home and on line and saw the clip ... and had a brainstorm. I think at Daphne's teddy bear show, we could have a lip sync contest (or exhibit) for entertainment. Bet she'd love that idea. You tell her Rox!
Deb, I wish chocolate cured SAD! :P
Well Dilu and I are trying to test the theory with Matilda's cake recipe, but we have to know what ice magic is first.
SueAnn ~ Funny you should mention Marilyn. I just saw a news blip the other night on "new" information that allegedly proves Norma Jean's death was not a suicide. Didn't see the full version though. I love "Some Like It Hot" ... great movie.
Judi ~ Don't know how I missed this post, but this guy is awesome!
With such a large area of airbrushing, can you "set" it like in the clothes drying on a rack? Long day if you have to take the blower dryer to him.
Oh my daughter is soooo blonde too (though her hair is darkening now at age 23). I'll never forget when she was about 13, a friend of ours was spouting off blonde jokes, and she looked him square in the eye and said "Well how stupid are you if you actually think the color of someones hair has anything to do with their intelligence?"
I laughed so hard.
lol, that's pretty rich about the PM. you're a hoot Judi!
Dilu ~ you're sounding pretty desperate there hun! ;)
I think the caramel filling is the Nestle caramel filling, and is only for the 2 layer variety. She says to pour it, so am assuming it is indeed the goop we put on ice cream.
Double cream I took to mean heavy whipping cream. (Can you feel your arteries clogging?)
No clue though, what ice magic is.
My teeth hurt already.
Augh, I can't open it. Probably all these stupid firewalls here protecting our stupid corporate secrets.
So .... eyes secured in place BEFORE you insert the cord, or after? Honestly, I've got a bear with a needle stuck in her head, and when I really press hard to get the needle through, it presses on the eye and I'm afraid it'll loosen it.
Guess I need remedial eyelid training.
LOL ... they've long been out of the basement. Actually, they had lab requirements but also wanted to be located in close proximity to the rest of the division, so they were put in the most logical place (where there was enough space and the rent didn't break the bank). It just turned out that it wasn't such a "bright" idea!
Going to work in the dark, coming home in the dark ... ugh. SAD ... seasonal affective disorder. Few years ago we had a whole department complaining of symptoms of depression. They were located in the basement, so basically spent the winter months in the dark. Honestly, it was awful. Started referring to themselves as "bottom dwellers" and "the basement people". They'd come upstairs for a meeting and were openly hostile toward anyone not residing in the basement also. Segregatged themselves and hated everyone else. Became a pretty serious problem.
Now I think I'll go eat a mountain of chocolate ...
Jane ~ Never glued a joint.
Jared ~ I get the idea alright. How about Bearmaking 101? Oh, I got it ... Remedial Bearmaking! I could have really used such a book around bear #3 or 4.
I did once and they gamma radiated the poor bear.Luckily he survived though perhaps he won't have any cunbs now!!!!Diane xxx
Hehe!
I use locknuts and bolts, with nut turners (they look like screwdrivers), one inside the body, one outside, to tighten. It's basically the same setup, but with slightly different hardware, and very different tightening methods.
Me too. Is there an advantage of some sort to using set screws? Anyone interested in collaborating on a idiot proof bear making book. I sure need one.
He's adorable! One of these days I'm going to have to try that needlefelting thing you gals rave about. I'm positive my results would be the same as Judi's! (HA ... NOT.)
OMG - she's gorgeous! I would have blubbed too Jenny. Congratulations again, to all!
Wow! I guess that IS a good reason to brush up on photo editing skills! Thanks Shelli.
