Now that's an idea for my design book! Sounds great...
Ummmmmmmmmm the turkey smell and all the wonderful spices are driving me crazy...can't wait! We have so much to be thankful for. We tend to think of our wants as necessities but really necessities are few...food, clothing, shelter. Our blessings are many...
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate!
They are all great but I love the pink one...
I have learned that bears are very emotional...and, so are their owners!
Gotta watch those poopers. My son-in-law took his dog for a walk in the park when he decided to do his dirty deed. Un-beknown to my son-in-law puppy had eaten my daughters lacy red underware. Well, right there in the park, out came the lacy red undies. My son-in-law and the dog ran for home and never went back!
He may be a grizz but he looks like an old softie!
Thomas Adam, I love your Hippo...I have an old kitten I got from build a bear...she is so sweet and she wears a cheer leader uniform for the St. Louis Cardinals...
Oh my goodness...he looks so very real! I love him....
Awwwwwwwwwwww, Winston wants a hug...
Love your bear...she does look beautiful!
Thanks Eva...
I'll have to check all the bears in my collection and see what I think. But, perhaps I think differently according to my mood?
Nefertiti is wonderful...you really captured the cat's personality...
I don't know why I thought you had to make a pattern and "make" a face and plan the whole thing. My dolls were never that way. I always talked to them and didn't know what they would look like until they "told" me. Even boy or girl they "told" me. I promise my next bear will tell me who he is as we go along and I won't worry so much about how to make him as just let him come alive! I guess I was just so nervous as first...
Thank you so much for the advice. I realize that you are 100% correct. I do have to create what is inside just as I have with my other arts. My favorite doll of all times that I made was "Aunt Bessie". She is a maiden aunt of advanced years with grey hair, hooked nose and glasses. I still have her and I love her more than all the beautiful ones I have made...
I love your cat. She looks like she is searching your soul...
Thank you for the quick replies...I guess what I see in my bears is "oh, I am so sorry, let me give you a hug!" I was looking at all the beautiful bears and most of them seem to have that type of look. The one that I really think looks happy, without a forced smile, is the Bramblewoodbears. I may have a go at one like that. Next I want to make my sitting elephant so I am sure I will have a lot of questions about her. I am waiting for some grey mohair to arrive!
I have a question...this is serious even though it may sound stupid! I have been very despondent as of late because of several things in my life...no excuse I know and I am working on it. Here is the question. I made my bear with a sorrowful look on his face on purpose but do you think I should make my bears look happy? I have always been kind of drawn to the frowny bears myself...But, for others should I make them more happy???
Also, how about the Elephants...do they have mouths under their big trunks???
I have a big hug of bears...I have a lot of the TY larger bears that were given to me; an Old Pooh bear that I love...An original Bilosky; several Boyds bears and, my favorite huge bear that my hubby found in the street run over by cars! I always check out the bears at junk and antique stores....
Thank you...I think next time I am going to make the legs bent and the tail smaller. I worked on the pattern so long as it was I thought I would never get the bear made. Now I want to try an Elephant...
There are different kinds of safety joints...some will pop and some won't! I always get the more expensive secure ones that will not come apart. I have never had one of them pop. In fact, if you need to take them apart you have to cut the post off and pry them open, but, with the before mentioned process they can be made as tight as you want!
Well, after alll the problems Frost is done. There are some things I will probably change on my pattern next time and I am open to any and all suggestions. I am happy she is finished and I love her...
Well, sorry, I can't get the pictures to upload...
I want one...when will it get to the US?
Well, to me they are very hard but, you realize, I am crippled so I don't know if they are so hard to others!
