Wow, that is amazing and wayyyy better than a banana peel on your face! I need that for all my freckles (like Daphne mentioned) as I have tons! Dermablend does rock!
P.S. If anyone else with HTML experience has any idea how to do this, please let me know. I was only going by what Blogger says it can and cannot do. I might like to have my old posts as well even though there were only a few!
Dorothy,
Some Blogs will let you import your posts. Unfortunately, Blogger will not. You either have to copy your posts manually from one to the other or you can do an RSS feed to let other people read your previous posts. I switched from Bravejournal to Blogger and lost all my previous posts. I only had a few there so I just started over. Hope this helps. Need any help, give a yell!
Yes, they are soo cute. It makes me want another Blog just so I can have another pet! You can name them anything you want, make them any color you want, I just love it!!! I'm such a little kid!!!
Oh my GOSH! My hubby has been away for the past couple of days and will be for the rest of the week so what have I been doing? Working. NOPE! Playing with my Blog. I found the CUTEST thing to add to my Blogs. They are called Cyber-Pets. You can play with them, feed them, thank goodness you don't have to clean up after them (although I don't know that because I just fed them a little while ago! LOL!). Anyway go to my Q.D. Patooties Blog, http://qdpatooties.blogspot.com, to meet Tippy, my turtle, and my Twin Cubs Blog, http://twincubs.blogspot.com, to meet Higgins, my hedgehog. If you click on either of them they do things. Tippy will go into his shell if you click on him three times, click on the water and he'll dive in, click on the "more" tab and a worm will come up so you can feed him. Drag it to his mouth and "yum!" Higgins, my hedgehog, will roll up in a ball and roll around in his pen if you click him three times and when you click the "more" tab a strawberry comes up. He doesn't swallow it whole like Tippy but takes dainty little bites. And they have like a dozen pets to choose from! I have "officially" lost it folks!!!
Edited to add: Yes, this is my way of entertaining my children after they get bored with coloring, their games, movies, sidewalk chalk, etc. They just loved picking out the new pets! You may notice the hedgehog is not the "usual" color! LOL!
She's adorable! What a beautifully soft blue colour too!
Thanks! Daphne is responsible for the mohair as I bought it from her off of Bid4Bears. Really gorgeous in person and so easy to work with too! Thanks Daphne!!!
I got my little heart from Sandi too. A very, very thoughtful thing to do.
I did mine on Microsoft Draw, where I clean it up, add better borders and all the text. Hope this helps!
I LOVE my OTT light. I don't have a "real" one but I have a knock-off brand I bought at my local Tuesday Morning. My whole family wanted one after they saw mine so I ended up buying three more. They're great and I use them to take photos of my bears too. I bring them outside on my front porch for extra lighting.
I added everyone who has a Blog on Teddy Talk by just going down the list. I wish there was an easier way but I haven't found it!
Aww, thanks Marlys. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I just try to help out when I can!!!
It is not silly. I'm still grieving over my Pom that I lost last July at age 14. They become such a part of us and we love them so dearly. Take time to grieve and recover. Biggest Hugs to you.
Here's another new bear from my Q.D.Patooties line that I just finished. Her name is "True Blue" and she's 6 inches, made of baby blue ratty mohair, is 5 way cotterpin jointed, has a waxed nose and glass eyes and is wearing a little outfit I designed myself out of a blue and white floral cotton print. I thought it would be fun to take her picture against a blue background so she almost blends in so it looks old fashioned, kind of like a Sepia print.
I got this in my E-mail from a friend and immediately threw out all of my Chapstick!
OMG! Skip the Banana! I think I would have headed straight to the Emergency Room for that one!!! You poor girl - it looks so painful. I know it's hard to rest before a show but take it easy.
Oh, thanks for starting this topic Chrissi. My printer is over 6 years old and I love, love, love it. I've been looking at new ones on and off for about a year (preparing myself "just in case" Bessie give up the ghost). I'm just so overwhelmed. Technology has certainly changed in 6 years. My Canon is wonderful and prints pictures just like you got them from a Camera Shop. It only uses two cartridges. Now some of the ones I've looked at have had 6 or more! I almost fainted thinking of how much it would cost to replace them. Right now, to replace BOTH it costs me under $20. And I only have to do that every quarter. I can print almost 200 pictures and still go strong. I'm crossing my fingers that the new Canons are just as good, as quiet and as inexpensive to maintain as this one has been.
I would like Waterproof Ink as a feature though and I'm not sure what Printer brand has the feature with it's ink.
Chrissi your Blog was wonderful before you made the changes!
I just love reading people's Blogs because I don't get to travel that much with the Tritods in tow. So when I see people going to an antique shop like Chrissi I just drool!!! All I can think is, oh, I want that, oh, gotta have one of those. The last time I went to an antique store with the Tritods I didn't get to stay very long (if you know what I mean). I had to make up a game called "Let's See Who Can Talk The Quietest" which was good for 5 or 6 rooms and then it was all over. So reading a Blog where someone goes shopping ALONE even to buy some shampoo would make my jaw drop in AWE!!!
You know what you need? You need a club! I'm in a soft cloth doll and bear club called the Potomac Poppets. Some of us live pretty close but there are others that drive an hour just to chat face to face with like minded people, make a little project, talk about new gadgets on the market, gab about our favorite mags, you know...chit chat. There's a message board on Crafster.org for Craft type events/happenings by Region. Why don't you post a message that you may be looking to start a group like the one I am in? I bet you'll be surprised at how many like minded people will jump at the chance to meet and greet!
Here's the link for California:

Well, the banana peel (although it sounds ridiculous) does really work. I had a HUGE bruise on my leg last summer right before Expo from stubbing my toe on a crib and then landing on my knee. Painful? Yep! But I wrapped my leg in a big bandage with a banana skin (with the slippery side on my bruise) and the lump and everything went down in less than 24 hours. I was impressed. My sister's a big believer in all natural cures and she heard this on one of the Cirrus(sp?) radio programs she listens to as well. So that and a Toddler mag can't be wrong.
P.S. sorry got cut off in mid sentence with a mini emergency (pepperidge farm goldfish EVERYWHERE!!!)
OMG! That sounds like something I would do! Take care of yourself. Oh, and I've heard that if you take a banana peel and put it over the bruise it will take the "black" out. It was in one of my toddler magazines. Pineapple juice also helps because it contains Bromein. Just some thoughts to help you heal quickly (hey, we won't be there to see you walking around with a banana peel on your face! LOL!).
Congratulations to one of the sweetest people in the Bear World. Well deserved!!!
Daphne,
Don't just crawl into the hole honey, HIDE!!! Maybe that little cloud that's been following you won't be able to find you then. Take care!!!
Biggest Hugs,
Lisa
I use mainly smaller socks anyway. Here's a monkey I made out of little boys socks. They are really hard to find with a different color heel. I think I bought a ton of these when I saw them because I thought I'd never find them again. Anyway, here's Patriotic Pete:
Have fun making them. There's quite a few people on E-bay who sell them but there is one that is really unusual. She does baby monkeys and they are charming and oh, so different. I wish I could remember the name but she'd probably come up if you did a search. They're ADORABLE!!!
I'm similar to Wendy. I call mine "Q.D.Patooties." They're all in the 5-6 inch range. Maybe not original but fun!
I also like the name Pocket Pals or something along those lines.
Wow, that's not surprising since the first two patterns that Rockford came out with were the Monkey and the Elephant. I've never posted here about my secret "obsession" before with Sock Animals. I've been making them since childhood but put the photo up here because I had actually taken out the time to draw out a free pattern for everyone to follow and posted it on my Blog for everyone to use. I've gotten some great photos of Elephants from people who have used the pattern and I've promised them that I'd post them in my Q.D. Patooties Blog (http://qdpatooties.blogspot.com). I can't wait to see yours!
