bear_cry  bear_wub Lisa, I am sorry to hear about your decision to quit bear making, what brought this on?  You know we will all miss those wonderful little creatures you make and we also enjoy your blog and your giving nature.  Please say it isn't so.
Give yourself some time and one day the feelings will return and we will have our Lisa back again.  In the mean time, take care and enjoy what life has to offer.

 I made my own stuffing tool once, took an old fondue fork and took a pair of pliers and broke off the tips or fork ends and it leaves just enough rufness to grab the fiberfill.  I have used it for years, and I also have four more fondue forks if it gets too smooth on the end. lol but I am goin to look into that ultimate stuffer .

DENBY30

bear_wub It was a good response as was yours to her.  I think re-using any fur that has taken an animals life is better than having it end up in the garbage. At least something beautiful has come out of the loss of the animal.I don't mean fur coats, I mean like making the bears and other animals.
You had a great prospective on it all.  cheers!

Thanx for thse great pics!

DENBY30

bear_wub I have read the entire thread and not once did I get the impression that this was looking down on internet sellers.  It is interesting about the shows slowing down.  Before becoming a bear maker, I was a crafter of all types and went to lots of shows and loved every minute of people contact.  The crafting business ended due to the allowing of vendor sellers to sell at handmade craft shows.  So people just wanted the already made items at low prices.  So all my crafts are in storage and now I make bears. I have only sold to family and friends, but intend to get going as soon as I retire from this full time job.  I like the idea about putting the magazines at different places and also at shows for free for others to get the message.  We must do all we can to keep the Bears alive along with the shows and also on line.  I myself could not afford to travel to far away shows, but will try the ones closer to home as soon as I am able.  I do love the people contact, wether you sell or do not sell, it is easier to sell your product to the person in front of you. and it is a sense of pride in doing it.
So all of us bear makers, artists, collectors, keep it going the way you know how and enjoy TT for what it is, a great forum for all to chat on and get to be friends in this wonderful world of bears.

  I also tend to sit on the edge of my seat when sewing or working on a bear.  I also talk to the bear, like he is there. I am a television freak so no music, the tv is always on, watching it or not.  i guess we all have our little ideos.

      blondes are something else don't ya think?

bear_wub Talk about the perfect nose, it is great and perfect, that closeup helps me to learn how perfect it is, I just love your bears, your work is so fabulous and  I love all the different colors you do them in. Simply the best!  You will sell out at the show I am sure.

DENBY30

 Denby30 (Denbee30) My maiden name was Den Bleyker and kids called me Denby for short, 30 is my day of birth.  S thats my user name and my name for bears is Denby Bears.  I always told people that I would be Denby Bears. Quite simple really.  The only other Denby I know of is ceramic dinnerware.

DENBY30

 I guess the best part is not having to worry about cooking.  I come home from work, flop in a chair, take a snooze, get rejuvinated and go about my own business.  I do not have to worry about tv since we are in different rooms and have our own tv's.  but just to be alone is great, go to the store, go to my daughters up the street, gab on the phone, aahh what nice thoughts. I can do what I want, when I want, and ow I want it!

DENBY30

bear_wub How you manage to outdo yourself is beyond me.  Great bears, I simply love the green one, What an expression on that face.  You have such talent and I love these bears, good luck at the show.

DENBY30

 Spring has sprung, the Robins have babies, The Bluejays come to me for Peanuts, the goldfinches are bright yellow, my lilacs are already dieing, the grass is growin so fast, the squirrels are eating the bird seed, and oh yes, my wash is still going in the dryer!  ENJOY!

DENBY30

bear_wub I use polyfill, but I once went to a bear class and the teacher said stuff the head firm and when you think you have enough, stuff somemore. if you feel it is clumping, put in smaller pieces at a time and aim for the nose, that has to be hard for making the nose, I close up my head and then complete the sculpting, nose, eyes and all. It works for me. I made my own stuffing tool by taking a fondue fork and breaking off the tips with plyers and the little bit that stays on is rough and grabs the polyfill really well.  keep trying and you will succeed!

DENBY30

bear_wub  Thanx so much for the Austrailian tour, the places were beautiful, and my granddaughter has a bearded dragon.  How nice to meet Sandi and Clare, I would know that bearlysane  bear anywhere, she has a unique style.  It must have been so great to meet them, as they you! Thanx, for sharing.

DENBY30

bear_wub Looks great, I love the difference, see how you have become a more accomplished artist.  I love the darker eyes and nose, he stands out more.
congrats!

DENBY30

Sorry about the ink, but you can get Goof  2 in most Home Depot or Lowes stores if there is one in your area. But always try on a hidden spot fiist to see if it works.
I am afraid that all the products you have tried so far has set the stain.
Good Luck

DENBY30
