An Easter bunny I made for my daughter .
Hi Jane,
couldn't resist, little baby Mango now has a little brother. Too cute. Gee, all this birthaday money I received is coming in so handy. haahaa
Hi Jane,
couldn't resist little Mango, especially since we share the same birthday. She'll fit in well with the rest of my little orangutan collection.
Wee bit smaller than the majority of my collection, so another good excuse for adding her. haahaa
Well, there you go Jane, maybe time for a few more little monkeys. haahaa, keep those hands of yours supple.
The last little orangutan I ADOPTED from you "Joey",( just prior to xmas) , must be the cutest little guy you've created to date.
His sweet little face just makes me smile everytime I look at him. The little guys in my collection are all cute, but he is super special. haahaa
Awe Jane,
did you name him after me?? haahaa
You didn't quite get the spelling right though. haahaa
Another cutie. Simply luv your little monkeys, I've sort of lost count of how many in my collection. Your little orangutan's I think would have to be my favourites.
BTW, your gorgeous little bear Svetlana arrived in plenty of time before my birthday She made for a lovely present from my hubby.
Thanx Jane
Sooo Cute
Hi Jane,
so looking forward to receiving my new little baby bear. She's so sweet.
best wishes
Rikki
Luv the face, those soulful eyes.
Beautiful.
Cute One Jane.
Hi Ginie-Lee,
Jane's a very talented sculptor.
You should see some of her gorgeous little sculpted monkeys, I'm not game to count how many I've got anymore. It was just luv at first sight with some of the cute little faces.
My house was being over run by Teds, now it's also housing a Monkey colony . Just as well the majority are only about 5 inches tall.haahaa
oops meant to "the detail" as in the nose and mouth! Oh and those claws............
Hi Jane,
really cute.
You forgot to mention she's actually on Ebay.

Wow,
he is gorgeous.
Amazing Work.
Hi,
thank you.
Yes, there's definately some great tips in there from Nancy. Cute little bunny, totally different to the type I make.
Decided to do the Yorkie one too. Haven't tried a dog before, so need all the help I can get. haahaa
I have jointed several classes in the past. They are really good.
I have learnt alot from them.
Good luck with the bunny class.
Hi
wondering if anyone else is doing any classes over at EBearz.
I've just joined up with one of Nancy's classes for a cute little rabbit called Sugar Bunny.
It's such a different style to the type I sometimes make.
Hi,
I've collected lots of mohair & plush over the years. Lots of upholstery velvets for my mini's. More than I'll eve use. A couple of years ago I bought some vintage furs.
Also collect little Knick / Knacks to display my mini's ie little boxes & chests, I used to make music boxes to sit the mini's on , so I was forever looking for little ornaments to display the bears with. Dollhouse miniature stuff worked well.
Happy to read I'm not the only hoarder. haahaa
Hi Bobbie,
seriously though, your instruction sheets were brilliant.
I've sort of started checking in again once in a while, luv seeing what members are creating & selling.
Going thru a bit of a Bunny phase at the moment ( not mini's though ) plus I've been doing some bodies for some apes. A friend has done some wonderful little polymer clay heads, hands & feet for me & I'm adding a soft body, bit of fun, and something different to add to my cabinet collection .
Are you still needle felting & selling your creations?
Hi,
have to chime in.
Bobbie's brilliant, she helped me out many , many years ago with string jointing (disks were too difficult for me in my little 1 1/2 to 2 inch mini's).
Plain couldn't figure it out, until Bobbie stepped in & patiently explained it. I also ended up buying one of her patterns, which almost had a MANUAL,( not just an instruction sheet) on how to do things.
Lucky to still have members around like Bobbie , with their wealth of experience.
Hi Kathy,
what a beautiful expressive face.
Wow,
she is so beautiful.
Hi Ariane,
that's a great idea.
I've just recently gotten back into sewing after quite a lengthy break. Gone from sewing 2 inch miniatures to much larger vintage real fur.
I luv the result I get with vintage fur. I've still got a lot to learn, it's not the easiest stuff to sew, the leather needles start to hurt my fingers after a while , but I'm persevering.
Basically i do the head first, if it doesn't look good, i start again. I can't afford to waste the fur for the rest of the body if the head doesn't look ok.
I've been lucky , I've managed to pick up some vintage rabbit, mink & fox. I also got a lovely sheepskin stole, don't know if my fingers will hold out, it's a fairly thick hide.
The first thing I sewed was a rabbit made from a rabbit fur stole. Made the mistake of not lining it, & I split the body during stuffing (I think), unfortunately I didn't notice till after i finished, vintage rabbit can be very delicate.
One of the hardest things I'm finding is picking the correct size of the critter for the fur length. I'm going thru a bunny phase at the moment, & if the furs too long, it can look a bit strange. Not quite as critical for bears.
Anyway enjoy sewing the real fur when you get around to it.
best wishes
Rikki
Hi ,
thank so much.
Really helpful information, especially the video clip on clipping the face.
May just put the blue fox away for the moment & find something a bit less expensive & easier to work with for practice , just in case I really mess it up.
Big jump from the 2 inch bears I'd been doing. haahaa
The upcoming class looks interesting.
Thanks again.
Hi,
it's been a while since I was last here so not sure if I'm asking in the correct forum.
I normally do mini's but I want to give using real fur a go.
First up , what sort of old vintage furs are useable??
I've been looking at some of the beautiful mink bears. Is that the only fur that is really suitable?
I have a beautiful vintage silver fox jacket, but I don't want to chop it up & find it won't work. Not that I'd wear it, but be a shame to destroy it.
Sooner try & pick up an old stole or something on ebay to practice on it first.
Any suggestions other than mink?
Has the size of the bear got something to do with the type of fur one would choose??
Hi,
you're little creatures are absolutely beautiful.
You are very talented.
best wishes
