Jenn, I remember those awful days I had to get up at 6 a.m. Gosh!!!
I work at the University as a Japanese language teacher but right now I'm sitting at home with my daughter.
Julia.
Matilda, don't be upset! I do the same thing and even worse... I buy stuff and forget it in the store. And it happens more and more often!!
So waiting for your "real bears"
(are they Himmalayns or big Brown ones???
Hugs, Julia
Jenn, you love to work at night? Me tooooo. I go to bed at 3-4 a.m. get up at 9 a.m.
All my bears are night owls too!!
Show pls your blankets and a bear when you finish!!
Julia
Oh, Dilu you have to be more careful!! Why didn't alarm work? Maybe not enough fire for it???? Thank goodness....
Not long ago, I was going to make some pancakes for my daughter. I made dough, put pan and turn on the fire. I put also a plate on the near burner to put ready pancakes there. While waiting the burner heating, I washed some dishes and heard loud BOOM! I looked at the stove and saw my plate all over the kitchen in smallest pieces.
....I turned on the WRONG burner... Thank God my daughter wasn't in the kitchen and I wasn't near the stove. And, Dilu, I wasn't even thinking about my bears or bears at all...What I was thinking????
So, be all of us carefull!!
Hugs, Julia
Jane, so glad you back to us so soon!
You sounds very strong women (joking about all this stuff) so I'm sure in a coulple weeks all operation pain wiil fade away.
Be careful and don't punch your fingers while sewing bears. Or if you do, probably it will be some Halloween bear.
Jane, keeping you in prayers,
Julia.
Wow, Rikki! I'm impressed!!! Scary....but very very very cute!!!
Another mouse you'd show it to Nancy!!!! Sweetheart! I love it. The realist mouse I ever saw!
Julia
Girls, what I love in here is your sense of humor. We don't have that strong hurricanes over here but since we live on a cost too we have storms heavy rains and our rivers go up and up. this year wasn't critical but 2 years ago was awful. I wish I could have that much courage and humor as you do.
Hugs, Julia
Louise, thanks. I was thinking also on shading on his feet and arm..
Will show what I've done to him..
Julia
.
Oh, Deb I would love to here all about ebay myself too! I have no clue at all how to and where to...
Shantell, I agree if you start making bears just for money it's not good. I really love my teddies. I enjoy every arm, ear, head and eyelids.
Gina, you're absolutely right. If you do not get the price don't sell it. Just like better be alone then live with jerk and better be hungry then eat ...(something not good at all
Julia
What a tragedy. It's so awful when young children dies. i'm sorry your son lost one of his friend it is very hard for this age face such tragedy. In any age....
I'll pray for all your families involved this awful incindent.
Hugs, and prays, Julia
Rita, he is great. I would definatelly use tan, old gold, some antique crash colors for him. The body and the shoulders are attracting too much attention to me. I would use maybe bigger joint size on shoulders. Or just change his body:and make it a bit thinner and longer, and wider in shoulders. I like his expression I like sad bears in any ways, but was just thinking about shading. Does traditional bears have shadings? Maybe not that much... That's my opinion only on the traditional bear. Your cuttie looks very good job to me.
Oh, just a thought...maybe tie him a ribbon or aged bells on a lether band.
Hugs, Julia
Wonderful bear!
I notice I'm getting to like this kind of bears. Is it mohair?
Hugs, Julia
I always wash mohair in a cold water with conditioner. It gives smoothes to the fur itself and a good smell. When I bought mohair last time it smelled not really "fresh". Probably it stored in a dark cool place.
Hugs, Julia
Oh, Dilu don't worry! Looking at the pict I can tell it's still warm. poor sunflowers but looking great!
We have already fall came to our place. Yesterday, was +10 C at night. Day is much warmer yet +20 C
So few more days and it will be getting colder and colder. By the way we had not so great summer this year. It started in the end of July.
Our tomatos and cucumbers and pumpkins are doing OK yet.
Hugs, Julia
WOW!!
Shari!! He's gorgoeus! I love all about his beasty look! I wish I could make such outstanding bears!
The picture is great also. You're a good photografer.
Very beautiful eyes - good job! Did you painted them with acrilyc?
fur is lucious, it looks just the right thing for him.
his open mouth with those cute little teeth is AMAZING! I want to learn how to !!!
Your bear is great!
Thanks a lot ladies!!! it was a good chance to try a big bear. I bought oil paint set and aws a good chance to try oils too!!
I do hope she likes the bear!
Hugs, Julia
Kim, I like your bears this way. It's very character one. You have to imagine what kind of mouth he has. And I like it. it's some mystery every teddy should have.
i do like your bears. But... you should try to pull some mouth threads too!! it's fun and not that hard. If I use long pile mohair I simply cut mohair in lips area. So the mouth would be visible. My last bears has a "secret" mouth you don't see it but if you "examine"
the mouth area you'll find it. I just nedle-sculpted before embroidering.

My latest creation is ivory plushe teddy for my brother's girlfriend. He is 28 inch. My biggest bear so far.
he has hand painted plastic eyes. I painted plastic for the first time and it turn out to be just what I wanted. I made a fimo clay nose and polished it. I shaded him using black and white oil colors. I was also thinking on puting the eyelids but he looks OK without them as well. What do you think?
I agree with nancy make two types. Some body likes cats somebody - bears.
But it sounds great either way!
Beautiful daughter!
Julia.
I agree with Penny about plastic eyes. Children won't notice that differences for sure since I know some adults do not care what kind of eyes the bears has.
I'm doing a bear as a the present for my younger brother's girlfriend. And I used clear hand-painted plastic eyes. Believe me they turned out looking great! Since I'm the only one who knows the secret;) I'm sure his girlfriend will be happy.
Amanda, your bears are amazing and plastic eyes will not ruin the look. I wouldn't use plastic beads if the toy is going to be a friend of 1-4 years old child. I had some toys with beans and they intend to fall out when my daughter played with them too hard. But still I agree if you put it in a bag I guess it will be fine. But myself I don't like the feel of beads in the bag.
Hugs, Julia
Nancy, happy for you family!! What a boy!! Gorgeous!!!
So glad Stephanie feels better. And so are you.
Hugs and kisses Julia
Eileen, the fabric is pretty firm so it keeps it's shape when you sew it in.
