Judi, your bears with those needle-felted faces are just great! I love them and have no clue at all how to needle-felt! So I admire your work! Wonderful bear! (but I like your bear Opal more

I use my Fujifilm F810 and really like it. It's great! But I do think people like their own cameras just cause they got used to them!
When I was choosing camers I spend thousand hours in internet and pick up three ones I liked. Eventually I bought totally different one.
Hugs, Julia.
Ellen, I agree with Gina, if you make such a wonderful bears you will definatelly make wonderful tags and business cards by yourself. I saw topic about tags and cards here or on Edinburgh (did I spell it right/ should go their more often
)
As for main I just made it few days ago. Just took a fofto of my bear, played a little with Photoshop and got this logo.
You can do it also.
Julia.
What a bear! i really like those kind of non-fluffy bears. Great job!! Very neat bear you've made.
Julia.

Oh, Donna, no, there wasn't any special way. First, I needle-sculpted the mouth and cheeks. Then I just used very thick piece of some material (I guess syntethic) I've found. Also, this time I used different type of mouline for nose. I embroided the nose with thick single floss I've used for tatting(did I spelled it right? those round small pretty things laying on the table?) I put some pict to made it more clear.
I think, if the felt is too soft you may glue one side to make it more firm. The other "secret" is that the bear is rather small 12 inch high. So I guess, the thcikness of the felt should be propotionally increased if your bear is much bigger.
Hope, my explanation is helpfull. Sorry for not answering...just found this post.
Hugs, Julia
The smallest bear I've made is about 4 inch. It was my first minis and was made from viscose. Very thin, very easy to turn out, but (always this BUT) needed a fray check like hell. Turned out to be my daughter's favorite. Very tiny, heavy buddy.
Oh, I'm in 3 forums posting and 2 forums just checking for the news. One of my favorite is TT. Other forums is Russian. (also hand craft and staf like that).
How do I manage??? I don't know. Mostly cause I like to go to bed at 3-4 a.m. At 8 a.m. I get up, do everyday cooking, cleaning, playing outside 2 hours with daughter, eating, have 2-3 hours of free time I use for my own, againg playing, at 11 p.m. whole family go to bed exept ME. So, I have at least 3 hours for my own. I sew, post in forums, read, some study (not very often I must admitt).
It's only cause I'm a house wife at this moment. It's all will be different when I go to work.
Of course, it's not my everydays "have to do" but I enjoy this chance to sew my teddies.
Hugs, JUlia
Nancy, first I'm happy you have a another grand-son. I'm sure you're loving and kind granny (who makes such a wonderful toys) and hope you dear Stephanie will be fine very soon and will enjoy life and her maternity. She has support from all over the world and you tell her about it, please. If I got to know such support things when I delivered my baby I would feel better. Not phisically but inside of my heart.
Hugs, Julia
Kirsten, Eileen, I really like this font. I tried all fonts in different styles and this one has the neatest look. Simple fonts look a little rude (not sure if it's a right word).
Sue Ann, Jo-Ann, thank you. My mom said my logo should look more "my style" with character not just a simple bear drawing. I used my one of my bear's pic on the second logo.
Julia.
louise, I am very glad you fell better.
Hope you'll be OK very very soon
Hugs, Julia.
Shantell, better later then never..
I'm so glad you're back so soon and have done great cuttie already!! I hope your eyes now feel good and so you do
It's not your birthday but I wanted just you feel better.
With all good wishes, Julia
Guys, you're big welcome!! I know we all feel much more then just words can say so smiles I guess our gesture and emotions.
Ohh, I'm sorry for keeping silence that long. I've been out of internet for 3 days.
Well, love to hear all your responds.
Yes, it pronounce as shoot-ka but I thought to write it as shoe would be more familiar to pronounce.
Yes, I draw it myself and that wasn't the hard one.
As for translation. Michael, Mikhail (by the way, it's my Dad's name) is a common Russian man's name. And short for Makhail is Meeshootka. Like Teddy for Theodor. The word "bear" in Russian sounds Meeshka. And short for it is "meeshootka" ( at least one of it's callings). So, it could be translated as "Meeshootka the bear".
Every teddy should have one's name.
And I'm sure if the logo was pronounced fine MY NAME wasn't . So of course my maid last name was much more easier but...I have now another name. (should've married Amarican)
Thanks again, Julia
English-speaking community!!!!Ladies and gentlemen!!
Guys, i need you to hear your opinion. Here is my new logo for my bears. It means (well, bear, I guess everybody understands
"me shoetka" it's a one of the bears callings like teddy. Mishka, Mishootka, Mikhailo Potapych.....
So, how does it sounds?? Is it difficult to pronounce??
I really appreciate your participation, thanks in advance.
Hugs, Julia.
I found my childhood friend. Here is the picture. Yes, my best friend. I can't even now say it's a dog..just friend. It is a very sad story about her. I'm grown up now but still look at the picture and tears dropping on my key board...
I got her the strangiest way. It was 7 a.m. the woman knocked at our door. She was a stranger. She said their family leaving the city and can't take the dog. So she decided to give the dog to anybody. So my family was the first one to try her plan. That's how I got my best friend. She was a "street gang" in one tail! We lived in apartment and all our neighbors and their big dogs and cats were aware of her.
The saddest part. In my senior grade I went to Tacoma, WA, to study. The only thought was how I'm going to be without my Musya.. I arrived in Tacoma in the end of August. I saw a dream maybe month later: I was sitting in front of the dark window and saw Musya running to me as quikely as she can. I hugged her and laufght and cried at the same time. I cried so much I woke up. Strange dream I thought...
My parents never mentioned about her when we had talk on the phone. Eventually, my parents called me December, 31 to wish me a MERRY Christmas and I insisted to hear the voice of Musya as a present...Mom stopped talking and gave the phone to my Dad....he said Musya died in the mid of October.
Sorry, for a long story. I'm going to cry a little and then join you later on.
Julia.
Daphne, I know what you mean!! I'm looking around hoping to find something "interesting" and very usefull for my crafts. Hubby do not throw away anything without my permissing anymore. And he got used to it. Now he asks me do I REALLY need it? I look at anything furry and imaging what kind of bear would it like.....doesn't mean I'm going to kill animals hanging around... just wondering...
So, spider mohair bear? bear spider hair? I saw a bear, Heather, looks so much your spider's hair. Very funny one. See how is your Spider popular!! Say HI to him!!
Julia.
Paula, your bear is looking at me from the display and I think he just understand everything he got through.
So sad and full of memories eyes...
Very sad lovely story...
Julia.
I'm Julia. HI.
We haven't talk yet, so just wanted to say hi.
Welcome back!!
Julia.
Heather, you're brave lady!! I didn't say he is a freak but I've never saw such spider eye to eye. It's too cold for them over here. But he does look very "mohair"
Julia
