hello everybody...just thought id pop in some photos of what ive been doing recently, i had been out of creativity the last few months and couldnt for the life of me make anything, then the last week ive been doing alot of things
ive even learned to knit and have started needlefelting(albeit poorly
) ok heres the pics

CONGRATULATIONS......he is such a little cutie
i have seen those snoring devices in a sleepy ernie(sesame street character) so maybe they "salvaged"
it from one of those toys
i havnt seen them anywhere else before
to me she just looks like shes raising one eyebrow..sorta saying ..well, what of it?...lol
i really dont think the drastic bin step is nessesary but....i cant see her in person, its you that has to look at her
i really do like her in that picture tho ![]()
im in if someone could explain what a tapestry bear is??...Im afraid my head isnt with me at all times so ive missed quite a few things in my life
how would a tapestry bear work?...I'm intrigued
hi richy ive used the invisable thread quite succsessfully on my sewing machine to quilt with and to sew bears with...no breakage but i suppose it would depend on the tension and what not...i know nothing about my machine and everything is still on factory defults..i think
as for the joints...there are places where you can buy them both individually and in bulk amounts...you could make up your own split pack that way or buy enough so you dont have to buy them again for a while...if you get them in various sizes.i think bearycheap is the place ive seen them but im sure theres many more. sounds like your other questions have been answered which is good as i know nothing about clear glass eyes...sounds fun tho, good luck and most importantly..................HAVE FUN ![]()
thanks everyone  hes made from some sort of upholstery mini fabric stuff...hee hee...i'm not quite sure exactly what it is.
im thinking of making a big one of him....i think hes funky too
ok i'm finished..i did have a bear friend in the works too but have given up on him for now.
here's Gloob...
I'm not sure what he does in the labyrinth, but i suspect its probably nothing
ive looked at all the others and their looking good
a few more and we will be able to film our own movie
p.s i have heaps more but some arent to everones taste...tho i find them hilerious
well i collect one liners...only since about a year ago ...ok well its sort of a collection....well not really, but some might give you a chuckle...

nah they'd be far to itchy

they sent it all to me..
and i thank them all soo very much....not that you could call all the beautiful mohair and other fabrics i got sent "scraps" far from it...........patchy bears sound interesting tho.......you could make a rainbow panda
how about little square bears...real simple with cord limbs and safty eyes(think spongebob shaped
)...made from two squares sewn together...you could patch all the tiny pieces together then....and them could donate them to local children in need or somthing...sorry just thinking as i type. or could just give it away to begginers...im sure if you put a post up someone would want it...better than throwing out...poor mohair
.....
My fave heres your sign is the overpass one...you probably know the one im talking about...i infuriate poor hubby for days after watching him giving him his sign every time somthing silly comes out his mouth

that is about the funniest thing i've seen for a long time.....reminds me of somthing i'd do...gotta love a sense of humor
well i just popped in to my local country craft type shop...she stocks bears as well as raggy dolls and such...but the items that drew my attention where the settler bears...every bear i spotted that i liked, i looked at the lable and everyone was a settler bear...i cant say about their demand nor do i know enough about manufactured bears to judge on workmanship properly(they certainly seemed to be quality to me)i do know what i like and im quite in love with these bears....my heart is pineing for one little girl in particular and at $45 au, i felt she was very resonably priced and i think i know that i'll be back to get her when funds allow in the new financial month, im crossing my fingers that noone else gets her first...
Maybe i should of hid her under the shelf
as to your question about price...i saw some small ones at $35 and a huge georgous dressed girl with the most beautiful shawl(bigger than my 2 y.o son) for $270 but the average price seemed to be around $45...........i did pick up one other bear that i liked the look of and it did actually look ike a settler bear but it wasnt ...i cant remember what company it was now....but the resembalance was fairly close.
thanks wendy....you dont think he needs a new nose then?....its a bit of a sloppy job..i made him a while back before i started getting the hang of the clay.i have been meaning to replace it but glenns claimed him(he named him rex...not at all what a cute fluffy bear should be called)but what can you do?
i really do need to work on my photography tho...bella has such an endearing look on her face in the fur...but she has a blank stare for the camera
thanks again everyone for your enjoyment of my bears
ohhh thank you all soo much....it means alot to hear nice feedback about my bears.

well its been a while comming but i have got some new bears to show you all. I wouldnt still be making bears if it wasnt for some very lovely people here on teddytalk who offered me fabric and some great advice to set me on my way..heres the original post about it all http://teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=12902
ok...now for the new bears
Bert...3 and a half inches(his ears are only pinned as im waiting on thread)
Bella...3 and a half inches
Rex...4 and a half inches
And a little one inch bear...nose doesnt look that bad to the naked eye...but the photos yuck
(all measurements are sitting)
thanks for looking,
Natasha
i dont needlefelt. But i imagine it may be dangerous if the piece of needle worked its way to the surface...hmmm and would it set off metal detectors at customs? could you try and poke it right thru the other side with another, thicker needle? sorry, im not very helpful at all am i?
i hope someone else will have a better idea for you
edited to add: now i do feel silly, i realised that you only needle felt the pawpads....not the whole limb so my needle idea is just not going to work....maybe you could just put a small slit in the pawpad, under the needlefelting and get the broken piece out that way, then sew the small slit up and do a bit extra felting on top of where you cut?...i know... still not very helpful...im trying

oh dear ive stopped giggling long enough to reply.........
he is soo cool, even tho hes standing still, it looks as tho hes strutting his stuff.
does this new species have a name?
