I've just recently gone from hand stitching to using the machine on bears that the size is suitable. I like it, and I like the way they turn out just as much as the hand stitched. Oh, and the time I save is a nice perk!! :dance: I really needed to find a way to make my bears a bit faster. And I feel that they can still be considered hand made.

I really love this sweet quality handcrafted bear named Honey. :D
Honey is made from genuine German cotton fur, has a sweet subtle wobble head, a weighted tummy and German glass eyes. Honey's arms are thread and disk jointed and her legs are disk and cotter pin jointed. Honey's foot pads and inner ears are felted woven wool. This sweet little bear has wonderful subtle shading.

BTW, Peter, your bear is very cute!! Okay, here is my first bear. Made from muslin, and is not jointed and the eyes are painted on since I had no eyes at the time. He's from the summer on '09. And I do still have him. He sits on my dresser.

Toffy is about 5.25 inches tall (13.33 cm) and is made from an amazing soft dense honey tan 3/8 pile alpaca fabric. This sweet bear is soooo lush!! She has a mildly wobbly head with German glass eyes, a weighted tummy. Her arms are thread and disk jointed and legs are cotter pin and disk jointed. I have shaded her face, ears and woven wool felt pawpads. She has a sweet pale pink rayon ribbon bow with three tiny rusty bells around her neck.

I did a bear from the woven wool in a light brown for the Bears on Parade show and he sold first of the five I did. I was really happy with the result. Am going to do more with the fabric. I like working with it.
