Eileen, the link you had to the "smart dog" was priceless . . . I laughed out loud, it was SO amazing! Aren't animals a great mood lifter???!!! Along with all the priceless and amazing people on this board!
Hmm . . . well thanks anyway, Hayley. Sherry is in Madison, WI, so guess their paths will never cross.
Ohhhhh, Shelli, Baboo is such a cutie!! No wonder you wanted to hang onto him!! I kinda still wish I had the first bear that was ever nominated for an award . . . Lexie. She was nominated for a TOBY in 2001. The reason I REALLY want her back is that the lady who bought her gave me a hot check, then disappeared!
I NEVER heard from her again even though I sent her MANY pieces of correspondence . . . even a certified letter. AAAAARRRRRGGHH!
Well, my feeling is that it's okay . . . with reservations. My bears have waxed noses and if the heat is intense - well, I hate to think .........
. I always mail everything priority, so that it takes the least amount of time possible (and still be able to afford the postage). So far, I haven't had any complaints about noses melting or that fur was damaged, but someone else may have had a different experience. Good question, Kelly! By the way, your avatar is really gorgeous!!
Thanks so much, ladies!! Skipper is available for adoption on my website . . . she' fairly new.
That is fantastic news about the ebay sales, ladies!!! Louise - I'm so excited - Flower Mound, TX is a next door neighbor to Double Oak!!!! I might even know the lady (but probably not)!! Way to go!!
Lovely, lovely children, Judi. The two younger ones look just like you and the older one must look more like her dad!! Very precious! Now, does anyone have any single sons that I could fix up my single, never-been-married, soon-to-be 39-year-old daughter with???? Amazing, isn't it??!!
Shelli, your desk doesn't look cluttered, my dear. I suppose you've looked at my work table?? Now THAT'S clutter!! Your piece for the TBAI looks like it will be very special!!
NOOOOOOOO . . . . Shelli - it's waaaay too neat!! But it's scrumptious anyway! Very lovely, my friend!
HEE HEE!!
Okay, Girls, you asked for it and here it is - only after checking out Hayley's ebay link and discovering that there is someone on the planet messier than I am!! The "hamper" on the left of the sewing machine is the contraption I throw my fur scraps into . . . and overflowing!
Computer desk space is practically zero!
The mohair closet after the cats have played!
My work table with kitty Misty resting on it. How does one do any work on THIS table??!!
I keep felt, ultrasuede, and other miscellaneous fabric pieces in these boxes.
Same boxes, but closer. Kitty Brindle relaxing on top and my very first designed bear out of mohair sitting in the chair. That little guy keeps me VERY humble!!!
Thanks so much, one and all!!
Oh yes . . . I can relate to the mohair closet fiasco!! My mohair closet must have a gazillion dollars worth of fur in it . . . I can't resist getting the newest colors, lengths, finishes, etc. Once I get it folded and put neatly on the shelves, my cats sneak in and start burrowing around in it - what a great game - and it's not long until every piece of fur is on the closet floor!! Grrr . . . then I'M the one who does the growling!
Thans to you all . . . yes, Skipper is a girl!
I googled Phillip Island and saw some beautiful scenery!! A very inviting place to be. I can understand why you have tons of visitors . . . and those penguins are adorable!
Thank you, girls!
I guess it must have been night time in Double Oak when you visited, Hayley. I don't see any lights and I'm pretty sure we have electricity here!!
Oh boy . . . I LOVE that description of creative people!! If that's the case, then I'm a creative genius!!
I have a big workroom, but every square inch is cluttered. Here's to messy - uh - creative people . . . Yee Haw!!!
You gals are GREAT moms!!
I also use the cotter pin link to make a wobble joint. Works like a charm!
Skipper has a wobble jointed head.
Waaaaay cooool, Hayley!!
Hiya, Daphne. I sit in front of three windows facing north in a big area that was meant to be a rec room. The windows where I sit form a sort of big bay window and the area is like a small alcove which has a strip of low ceiling. On that narrow overhang, I've put up a long florescent light. Right next to my sewing machine I have an Ott floor lamp (wonderful!!). Combined with the two ceiling light fixtures in the room, it provides nice lighting. You might want to hang on to your desk lamps for further lighting, but I truly don't know how I got along without my Ott light. I got it only about 2 years ago and I LOVE it.
What a cutie, Dilu . . . a special order for Marie?? LUCKY MARIE!!
Welcome to the board, Meg . . . love the bear climbing the tree on your website! Hope you have fun here and I don't know of any teddy clubs in N. Carolina. My younger daughter, however, did graduate from Univ. of N. C. and then got 2 master's degrees from Duke. Not that that has anything to do with your question!!
Ditto, Winney . . . we want to see fahion bears!!
