Anybody want to take a guess at who this guy is? http://www.ebay.com/itm/361020853019?_t … EBIDX%3AIT
I've tried contacting the seller, but no response so far. I'm drawn to ths bear's simplicity, pointy snout, and fluffiness, and I'd love to try to find one closer to home!
Amazing! ![]()
How can anyone get a picture of something like that?! It happens so fast! I love how you can see every toe on that front paw.
Toby? He's gorgeous, btw!
I love hos paws! Is that clay or some kind of sculpted felt?
I LOVE him! So adorable! And such a pretty soft gold. I had a pet duck when I was a kid (a big white one, named Ping), but he was nowhere near that cute!
I've created a few of these

Awwww, widdle cheez-puff!
Wow, I've never seen kittens so young before!
You could name them Winkin and Blinkin.
I love your mddle bunny, EJ! I have a thing for those simple, standing bunnies with the little front paws. Some day I'll have to make myself one.
And I love your two big cream-colored bears, too- beautiful wavy fur and pronounced snouts! ![]()
This is the closest that I could find. http://www.ebay.com/itm/151395816043?_t … EBIDX%3AIT
I know it's not the same, but maybe it'll make a good addition while you try to find a closer replacement?
Calibus would actually call the dog: "Here, Emmy, Emmy, Emmy!" and then laugh (in the voice of my aunt's fiance) when Emmy came running.
My uncle (now married to my aunt, but not the fiance mentioned above) knew a guy who raised his African Grey, BJ, in a bar (pub?). Took him to work with him every day and let him hang out behind the bar and mingle with the customers. BJ would mimic the sounds of ice clinking into glasses, liquor pouring, pinball machines, theme songs, and I'm sure built up quite an objectionable vocabulary!
I suddenly realized last night that hardly any of my bears have names. In fact, I can only think of one bear off the top of my head that I've named. I've only bought one artist bear that came with a name (Carrousel, Sir Edward
), and I don't have any of the Gund or Russ bears that come with names from the manufacturer.
So what are your bear-naming practices? Do you tend to keep artists' names for your bears? Do you refer to your bears by names at all?
So beautiful! I hope they're a protected species by now in South America.
My aunt had an African Grey that she swore was smarter than some humans she met! His name was Calibus, and he loved to tease the dog and listen to soap operas while my aunt was at work.
The closest thing I have is a plush parrot (surprisingly like the picture) that I won from a claw machine.
Oh, wow! He's beautiful! I'd seen him before in an earlier auction, but I skipped past him because the first picture didn't look appealing. Midas definitely looks better by himself!
I love his feet, too! He's adorable!
Like the third picture, here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190-STEIFF-BIG- … 27dfc87cee
It looks like just a lying bear with shorter arms and legs, and a front-facing head. I already have a pattern for a lying bear- are there any other major modifications that you guys think would be necessary to achieve this look? Or would I be better off buying an existing pattern (if one even exists)? I'll probably do a test-run in fabric first so I don't end up wasting any fur. This is for my own collection, btw, not to sell.
I actually like his high-pitched voice.
To me, it gves an impression of innocence and gentleness. I'll definitely watch later.
Have the understudies arrived yet?
Is he 20 inches sitting, or lying flat?
If you "follow" your specific searches on ebay, you can get email updates whenever new matching items are listed. Then youcan go directly to the matching items from the email. Might save you some time.
SO CUTE!! I love orange tabbies, and long hair makes them even more irresistable.
Such lovely RACCOONS!
I especially like the fellow curled up on the bottom right.
And for the record, I think the vintage and antique Steiff animals are enchanting. Nobody does a jointed teddy like Steiff! ![]()
oh i couldnt see the ebay post! please send me a picture so i can see! haha glad you got one
Really? Did you scroll down? Maybe it's because it's the U.S. Ebay?
Glad to hear that you've found yet another one! I think the highest number of identical bears I've heard of someone having is 20, so you've got a way to go.
I love watching my cats clean their toes. The way they can spread them out like that is amazing.
You'll never believe it, but I think I've found an American lookalike!

It was made in China, so maybe the manufacturer made the same bear for different companies? Anyway, he looks close enough for me (the seller very kindly sent me extra pictures)! ;)
I think he looks better all scruffy and loved like the "original," but I won't be able to bring myself to get him to that state!
