:lol:If my old man had to give me a piggy back, I'd break his back!!! Better start saving for a push bike.............;)
Kim that is LOVELY!!!! I can't believe what talent I am among here at TT!!!!
I can just about sew!!!
Eeew, bugs:mad: It's getting colder over here as we approach Autumn and we've seen some LARGE/HUGE/EEEEENORMOUS spiders which I'm terrified of!!! HATE HATE HATE Sept for this reason!!!!! Don't mind anything else although not to keen on earwigs, do you get those???
Anyway, onto nicer things...........MOHAIR...............I have to be honest I don't ever wash it, it just gets stashed away, and for all I know could be getting eaten away as I speak!!:/ What can I protect it with, thinking of those Moths........
I always think of Dilu washing hers and conditioning it, but I never 'get round' to it , oh I'm so bad, no I just don't get time...........No I am bad, I was awake all night on Friday because I had missed the cut off for ordering my little son's school milk, he ALWAYS has milk at school, and I'd FORGOTTON - what a TERRIBLE mother!!! As it was I PLEADED on Monday and it was no problem and I wasn't the only one - Oooooh if I had known!!!!!! they just ordered as if nothing was wrong!!! Scare mongerers!!!!!
I could spend less time here, but I NEED to socialise:lol:
Hi Heather!
Yeah yours is the mouth I mean, do you do that in a number of stitches or what, now talk me through it - SLOWLY!!:)
Thanks sweetie, I'm dyin' to know!!
:lol:Ooooh Shari what a good idea, couldn't make me look any worse, am feeling old and decrepid this week, well, this and every week, must be honest, may give this a try!!!!
Seriously though, do you mean like sticky back plastic type stuff??:)
Only a week late, but I get there in the end, ask anyone who knows me!!;)
In all honesty I've had trouble getting my camera to download, and have asked and asked, but since my hubby and son went to the rally on Sat and took lots of pics, have noticed it works now - no-one told me - funny that!!
Anyway, here goes - HOPEFULLY!!!
Bobo, the clown, was the original bear I was talking about, but as it's been so long the other bear has since been created too, and is still un-named, but it will come to me!!
Sorry such naff pics, but just wanted to get them taken and posted on here to prove I have actually made them!! Hee! Hee! Show is in only 4 weeks - such a long way to go and time is running out.........................aaaaaaah!!!!:o
Hi Kim!!
I'd love to know how artists make those nice smiley mouths, they look so cute!!
Come on spill the beans..................;)
Hi Matilda, that's a great idea, but I'm intrigued, or maybe just thick:rolleyes:, what's a gumnut??
Yeah me too, in fact I started bleeding all over a very pale cream bear I was creating this morning - ooops!!!! I think it's all part of making bears though:D The leather thimbles may help.
Nanc..........you must be SOOOOOOOOO proud:)
I'm so glad they are both doing well, and breath a sigh of relief too both for you, them and us!!
I am so pleased, take good care, all of you;)
I have to admit I still visit Edinburgh too Amy but it's sooooo quiet there!!:( I also 'do' Bearycheap and Teddybear and friends, though Teddy Talk, as Marion says, is definitely the 'in' place - I feel like a teenager all over again!!
Oooh - I've had my 9 year old daughter asking me today what a **** is and what does rape mean.........do I tell her or do I cop out - like I did:rolleyes:
Nobody told me parenthood was going to be easy...............
Kim how do you get your hubby to do the housework?? You lucky thing, mine thinks the fairies come in the night and do it all!!
I have to admit to being the proud and most thankful new owner of a dishwasher, dishes, my pet hate too.........don't like doing the toilet much either.........
Hi Kim,
I struggle with this too. One of our successful british artists uses a template (I think that's what it's called, no technical knowledge in me old bones!!), I know she's got an auction going at the mo.....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? … _Stores_IT
I hope this is the link, I'm sure the host (correct term - no idea!!?) is in Julie's listing - yeah 'auction boutique', you can click on it on the listing.
I think it makes the listing look great - not that I've done anything like this yet as my bears don't fetch that much:( and I haven't really looked into how much it costs, but it's worth a look huh?!
What do others do in their listings to make people LOOK!!!
I absolutely love listening to the olds when I'm making my bears, Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland, Bing, Frank etc etc....
When I'm in the car I love funky up to date stuff, love The Pussy Cat Dolls new one over here at the moment, but my all time favourites, THE EAGLES:cool:
Shelli I have to suffer American Chopper and American Hotrod too........
Personally I love Most Haunted............I frighten myself to death sometimes!!
Love Christmas films too, even in July.................I LOVE Christmas;)
I do go to others, but this is my fave..........but I don't want to miss anything...........!!!:D
Amanda you're right, why don't we have this bar here?? Do you think it may be Cadbury's Caramel in disguise...............?? I have one of those in the fridge....................
Ooooh the smell of that Cadbury's factory is to die for.......................:D
Shelli, I used Cashmere fabric, soooo easy to turn!!! Really effective too. Helena (Bears a Bruin) uses a smokey longer pile fabric, from sassybears (USA) and I can't wait to try that, just haven't got round to it yet!!!
I made a bear for my son's teacher at the end of the year in this pattern, she was absolutely wonderful to us as my son suffers from severe ADHD, she was over the moon with it - bless!!
Thanks for your kind words;)
Awww Millie, I can't see it either:( I'm sure it will be fine and dandy and as soon as I can I will have a good nose......!!
Yeah they definitely sound like a farm animal to me, but as I've never been lucky enough to hear a 'real' bear, I have no idea what they or their babies sound like so just familiarise them with cows, or sheep even - got to be honest here!!
I have a Steiff, sounds just like we're on the farm, and I have a growler to go into a bear but have never used it, sounds just the same, MOOOOOO!!!!;)
I made some 3" last year, can't remember quite when, a pattern by Julie Dawn, a well known artist over here, I was quite pleased that I could 'go so small!!!' Wish it was as easy to shrink myself smaller, but hey you can't have everything huh!!?
I hope these 2 pics come out, they were called Peanut and Sandy and were 3" standing each.
Oh Nanc, we will ALL be thinking of you and praying for you and yours................take good care, all of you xxx
Paula that is a beautiful picture!!
I, in actual fact, only got 'into' bears when I 'grew up' (if you can call it that);)....but envy you sooo much!!
All my childhood photos consist of dodgy basin haircuts and very scary clothes!!
Hey Shantell, I'm a bit behind, I didn't know you were going for surgery, so glad it went well, hope you're feeling better soon;)
Shari, you need to move that PC to a nice warm spot that is just to hand - hope you're feeling better soon too, take care:)
Hugs to you both x
