They're precious! Did you design your own pattern? I've never been able to make a rabbit that I've been happy with, but I definitely have a soft spot for them.
I went to ebay.co.uk, and typed in "bear, brown, -joints, -jointed, -beans, -pellets" with a price range of £.01-£15, and then just scrolled until I found one that looked close. I've found that with eBay good results are dependent on specifying what you DON'T want, just as much as what you do. I was more confident than I normally would have been, since you said that you had already found two bears.
So now you have another Bear Two character.
Are you going to run him through the washer to make him "look the part?"
I totally would have bought it, too, but the seller didn't offer shipping to the U.S. I'm glad that you got him, though. ![]()
What a GORGEOUS cat!
And the picture reminds me of when I brought my hound in to meet my new cat, Mousetrap. The cat ran up to the hound and wrapped his front paws around her muzzle! He had grown up with a big lab since he was born, so he wasn't scared of dogs at all.
Does she use waxed thread for their noses? They look pleasantly shiny. Those bears are so appealing that I might have to stop buying bears from eBay in order to save up for one!
Thanks!
I'm glad to know that his fur isn't actually grimy. I gave him a thorough fluff last night and picked all of the fur out ofhis seams. I've never seen such sloppy seams on a factory-made bear- or really, any bear. He looks much better now.
Fascinating! I love a bear mystery.
Is this him? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOVELY-CUDDLY … 3393aae6af
He looks in WAY better condition, fur-wise, but I looked at Bear Two on the show and could see some hints of shiny fur on his underside. But the head seams and paw pads look the same, so maybe...?
He arrived today and is wonderful!
He still has a frayed tag from "The Rushton Toy Company," which was surprising. I didn't know that they made such realistic bears.
Any advice on cleaning him up? His fur feels very...old. Dusty and flat. Should I vacuum him, or make a bowl of suds and try cleaning him with that?
That fella looks like he means business!
He's adorable!
I like his profile. And his cute little toes.
Sorry, I meant the company or brand that made...um, you. So who made you, Bear Two?
Sucha beautiful fish! Look at those lips!
I've got to re-organize my collection so that I can fit in more bears, so once that's done and I find my camera I'll post some pics.
Oh, I LOVE them! Luscious fur, and such soulful eyes! Does Adam have a hump?
Awww, he's still got kitten-fuzz! Why can't they have kitten-fuzz forever?
Oh, I hate flying, too. The "salami trip" was to see my Dad across the country who literally said: "Come see me before I die." Not that he's particularly old or in danger of death, but he does have health problems. It was the guilt trip of the century.
Absolutely lovely!
Sooo cute!
I've liked and subscribed. And now, the question that all of us teddy bear collectors are dying to ask:
What kind of bear is Bear Two? I want a Bear Two, too!
I like Spotty Dog, too. And they're all even cuter because they're British.
Is there a Bear One?
I love his expression and the color of his fur! ![]()
So this year I've fallen for this fella:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stuffed-Realist … true&rt=nc
(sorry about the link-can't figure out how to post pictures on the iPad.)
It was his snout that got me, at first.
And then when I saw how big (33") and shaggy and snuggly he was, I was sold! He's a bit of a departure from the norm, since I usually go for antique or reproduction bears (actual "teddies," if you will), but I think I have a secret fondness for more realistic bears.
Reminds me of when I brought six hard salami back from California with me (we can't get them out here in Mississippi). I opened my bag on my arrival and found a polite note saying that it had been inspected by the TSA. Goodness only knows what they thought was in there!
That's hilarious!
Have you tried making larger-scale animals with it? Maybe a dachshund, or a "velveteen Rabbit?" Or is it too stiff?
Amazing!
Such a beautiful fellow!
