Dilu...don't you change a thing about how you dole out your "help"...on the fly is the way we expect it...you get to precise on us and we'll know the Gollies have taken over.
:)
Hey...I just noticed that it now says Help Advisor by Dilu's name...Congrats to you again, Sweetiekins!!!
Shantell
Kim, I am soooo lazy....that is the flannel back of one of my many quilts I've made. I use them (most are sort solid colored) or some flannel I have in my mountains of quilt material. I love flannel...it's so warm and comfy...just like lil ol' teddy bears :)
Penny, vanilla bean icecream....it's my favorite because I can doctor is up if I want...which I rarely do. I love icecream...it's my major comfort food...it is a food right? That and mashed potatoes...love them too....but icecream is #1.
Penny, she's got a sad fornlorn little face because while I was having my temper tantrum yesterday and ate all the icecream and well pissed about it.
That, and the tutu I made for her...well...she's too chubby for it so it'll have to go to her sister as soon as I make her. :):)
In other words...she's spoiled!!!
BUT...I have a new attitude today...I just have to find it now!!!
Happy Thanksgiving my dear Canadian friends,
You can have my share of the pumpkin pie...I absolutely hate the stuff....EW EW EW!!!
Kim, I too know what you mean...kids are out of school more for "vacation" then they are in anymore. I don't remember all these days off when I was in school. Thank goodness I only have one left to keep track of.
Eileen, Yes, stockings are eternal...at least in my opinion they are...I love doing the stockings almost more than then prezzies!!!
Have a great day!!! I'm determine to put yesterday in the past and move forward...if this computer doesn't cooperate I'm taking a sledge hammer to it...too big for my scissors :)

We might have to wrestle for that crown Denise
I've had nothing but bad computer luck all day. Decided I needed to "upgrade" my look on Ebay and have been messing with a couple auction templates (freebies cause I'm being a cheapskate)...finally got one to work or so I thought...was proud of myself...then....tried to get it to upload to ebay and I get this message that it won't go...some server error. I just closed it all and said..."too heck with it...I give up".
I guess I just wasn't meant to accomplish anything today. And I've already wallered in a huge mug of vanilla icecream so I'll just pout for the rest of the night.
Love to you all...
Shantell
PS... so if I'm ever to get a website someone may have to do it for me or it'll never get done.
Oh...I'm thrilled with the little bear...in fact I keep postponing putting her on Ebay which completely defeats the purpose of making her...gotta pay for more mohair someway right...and my kids are too old to auction off
:) and I'd probably outbid myself for them anyway.
I just was trying to make a nice avatar with my name...yadda yadda yadda...and got frustrated because I couldn't get it to do what I wanted. I use to work in a program called Pagemaker and it's just been too long and I've forgotten how to do things.
And...I physically am unable to spend that much time fussing with it all...so I'm just annoyed. I'll get over myself.
Daphne....it's Intercal KID9/H in Old Tan...medium density. I really liked working with it. I named her Phoebe...she's hanging out in the Bears for Sale section.
No...you log on...and then immediately go to the little "mark all topics as read"...
Well...that's what I do...then I don't feel so guilty when I miss something...because well...I didn't know about it.
I have come to the conclusion that I am a computer IDIOT. Now don't get me wrong I manage and at one time actually understood what I was doing...but I seem to be suffering from some kind of computer funk disease...nothing I try works out...
AUGH...
This little avatar is a prime example...I finally just gave up and this what you get to look at for awhile...
Canine sausages...that's what I call them... how funny!!!
My parents had a mini that they rescued from my aunt who decided she didn't want her anymore and was going to put her to sleep...can you believe it? Sam, was vacuum cleaner...her nose was constantly to the ground sniffing out any tidbit that might have fallen. When my kids were around (they were little) she was in heaven. They are smart...and STUBBORN!!!
Love 'em...
Thanks Shelli...
I thought of nail polish remover but was afraid it would take the shine off the eyes so I avoided it. I'm ready for another go around...your directions were wonderful. I did exactly what you said and they turned out pretty good for a first timer. I might try a set with glue like Jenny suggested too...if anyone would glue their fingers together or glue themselves to the bear...it would be ME. I'm way excited....must the little cheeky monkey in me.
Shantell
I've decided to start naming my bears after all of you... :D
Okay...maybe not...I really liked Paula's use of characters from Dickens. For me...I toss around a few that come to mind immediately and then when he/she is all done...one name just seems to stand out....or at least so far.
Well...I'm obviously no help.
I always log out...old habits are hard to break I guess. I got into the habit when I was still working.
I hear ya Daphne...but I was really happy with the KID9/H mohair that I bought and made "Phoebe" and "Chip" out of. I have two more pieces to work with and can't wait to get started. I'm still mulling over which ones I want next. The samples are great...so at least add them to your order. And while you are at it throw in a few pieces for me....I didn't win the lottery last night...darn it :D
Gina,
Perhaps it's the way in which you are wording your shipping/handling. Not that I personally think there is anything wrong with it...but perhaps you should just list a shipping amount to include your handling fees or use the Ebay shipping calculator. Ebay may be inappropriately interpreting your vagueness (for lack of a better word) as fee circumvention. Also I think that buyers would prefer to know outright what the shipping will be and not have to contact the seller and ask...I know I personally feel that way. I'd rather just see it upfront. Just a thought...
Check some of the other listings and see what other reputable bear artist list as shipping/handling.
Just something to consider...

Hey...I may have sorta solved my immediate problem. I carefully got the glue off the eyes and the leather...then I took some of my oil paints I bought for highlighting and with a teeny tiny brush carefully touched up the leather...WAHLAAAAAAAA!!! Can't even tell...
So...it's not perfect...but it's start...
So...Shelli, Judi, Ms. Basta...and all you other eyelid people...how do YOU keep from getting glue where you don't want it?
I used Gel Superglue which is what Shelli said she used in her earlier posting...and no I didn't sculpt the eye sockets...still working on that technique. I'm actually quite happy with the way they came out considering it was the first attempt...I just now have white eye boogies on my dark brown bear. Looks like he's had a good case of pink eye or been to see my eye doctor :)
And yes...nosey is endearing Dilu...you goof!!!
Good for you Heather...that is a huge accomplishment and you should be so proud...
Now go buy bear supplies with glee!!!!
Do you ever get tired of seeing these messages asking for your expertise? :)
So...I got adventureous today and tried some eyelids using your wonderful instructions. After a couple attempts I finally got them the way I want or close to anyway...however no matter how little glue I used I seem to have it coming out from under the lids...my poor little bear has eye boogers. I've tried carefully picking at it and I think I made it worse now it's kinda white flakey looking. Any suggestions...
I'm afraid of scratching the glass eye or the leather cording?
Anyone else run into this problem or am I just inept with a superglue bottle?
Thanks...
Shantell
AWWWWWWWWW...another AWWWWWWWWWWWW factor...cute photo...thanks for sharing
This is a really old post...someone else brought it to life again...I took Shelli's advice and ordered samples...
Not sure how good of advice that was... :D
And the pre-paks are great...love them...
Well...I'm on the West Coast...I call them floats...and soda. I've never heard anyone call a "float" an ice cream soda (although I know what they are so that's probably a false statement). Pop is a common term but everyone I know calls it Soda...hmmm.
Perhaps it depends on where your parents are from and what you grew up with.
Now that has the AWWWWWWWW factor....cute cute cute...
You are all in on it aren't you...the whole "get Shantell to try needlefelting"...I know there is a conspiracy out there.
POOOOOO...I was hoping it was just a spoofing issue. Thanks Kelly for your "veteran" experience. I knew all those things just didn't know how to put them into words last night. Gina, isn't there a toll-free number you can call to get this mess worked out. I looked at your listings and to be honest I didn't see what they were talking about. I would suspect that someone was just being mean and vicious and doing a bunch of reporting. I wonder if Ebay keeps track of those kinds of things...overuse of the reporting system.
Sad world we live in isn't it?
