I use my good ol' kitchen scale that goes up to 10 lbs. It was super inexpensive, and probably came from Kohls or something.
I ship all of our domestic packages via UPS. I can't say a bad word about them. Their customer service is awesome, and things always arrive as scheduled (weather permitting).
The post office on the other hand makes me insane, so I only use them for international shipments. I have years or USPS horror stories for domestic shipments, but for International I've always had good luck.
I also like UPS because I like their website and it's easy to keep track of shipments, billing, etc.
I always ship Priority International with insurance coverage. That way you can tell when it arrived (attempled delivery, when it left the country, etc.) by the customs number (you track it on usps.com like d/c). You have to fill out the big customs form for it, not the little green one, but it's totally worth it for the peace of mind.
What a pretty bear. I love the eye color that you chose to go with the fur.
Oh no, I use discs, I just don't use hardboard discs. Sorry for any confusion.
I just love your drawings, especially this one.
I know a lot of us list auctions on Sundays, and ebay's "No checks/No money order" enforcement is going to start on the 15th, so if you're listing today be sure to change your wording as saying you accept checks or money orders can get your listing pulled. Apparently you CAN accept them IF the buyer asks you about it first, but you can't explicitly say in the ad that you take them. ???
I'm confused about what exactly we CAN say, such as "I accept paypal, if you would like to pay via another method please contact me"...I'm not sure if that is ok, or if that's a no no...I think I'll just say "we take paypal" for this week as I'm not sure what to do.
OOOOHHHH!!! I'm going to have to order it. Then I'll REALLY drive Jack crazy about my studio!!
He is really fantastic!
I buy everything we use from the hardware store. I don't use hardboard discs or whatever they are called, so I don't know much about purchasing them. Now that I'm making mini's I need to adjust my "stash" of hardware! lol.
Thank you for your kind words!
Thanks so much everyone!! I love making mini's!
Sometimes when I'm doing a new design I take the limb with me to the hardware store, and that way I'll get a perfect fit. I look silly, but that's ok! That way I don't buy sizes that I don't need.
This is Marc, a 12" hand-dyed rainbow panda bear that we created for a wonderful collector in France. I really love him!
This is Angel, a custom order mini bear made from hand-dyed rainbow mohair. She stands just 5" tall, and is made from dense Schulte mohair.
They are super cute!
Living in So Cal I check the earthquake map several times a day as I'm always feeling them. ESPECIALLY since we moved to Riverside County. When we moved to CA I was so scared of earthquakes, I'd rather take a tornado anyday being from the midwest, but I'm much more use to them now. Now I can usually hear them coming, it sounds like a big truck coming down the road, unless it's one of those BAM! type of ones that are a big jolt....ugh....going to check the map. lol!
I just watched the Dr. Phil segement on the reborn dolls. It's like they wanted to push the lady into being an "obessive" type, but even Dr. Phil said that it's not an obsession, it's a hobby. She said she sees them as an artform, which was really cool. None of the ladies used them to replace a child, or thought that they were real. I thought maybe since it's Dr Phil he'd put some wacky spin on it, but he didn't.
I don't ever watch Dr Phil, but wanted to check the episode out. He should have had me on the show, I'm obessed with mohair!
That's awesome Tami, Congrats!!
That's really cool. I love that site.
Woo Hoo!!! We've been waiting years for this!
Thanks everyone!!!
Thanks!! We sure are excited about it.
Hi Everyone!
I have some exciting news! The Taiwan Teddy Bear Association has chosen us as their "Artist of the Month" for December!
Here's the link:

The TWTBA did a beautiful job creating our online gallery, and they even made us a neat wallpaper to download! I love it!
Hugs,
Erin
I tried Kool Aid dying before, and I didn't like the results very much. Maybe I just wasn't doing it right.
