Hi all
thinking of making a very soft bear with weight and was wondering about using some 'baby fat'. I think it's what they use in the new born dolls. It is a bit pricey so I was wondering if any of you out there had used it and what kind of feel does it give? The jelly blobs look quite big and I don't want my bear to feel she is full of beans. My initial thoughts were to make a smaller inner body full of baby fat so it won't all end up in her bottom and then the gap between inner and outer stuffed with a high loft filling (and a similar process for the head & limbs). I am thinking of a bear under 35cm/14". Could I also cut the jelly blobs in half or are they too firm and slippery? I really would like the head to feel heavy in your hands but it may be difficult to get the bears balance right when sitting. How heavy is the babyfat? and would 1kg be enough for what I am thinking of?
Over to you

Pink Ginny is as pretty as a princess and as fluffy and soft as a marshmallow. She once decided to be a prima ballerina ‘I’m going to be the best Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker Suite ever’ she said twirling around on one tip toe. ‘Hum mm you do realize that this role isn’t all about eating candied fruit and nuts don’t you?’ ‘Ohh’ she says and stops mid arabesque. ‘Well in that case I may have to retire sooner than I thought’
Thank you for looking
Just on bearpile

Mr Bob Parkin is a true Yorkshire bear - proud, straight forward and utterly loyal. He loves the rugged heather coloured moors and can hike for days among dry stones walls, crags, fells and dales with only the sheep to talk to. Bob puts his hardy constitution down to fresh bracing Yorkshire air, the finest Yorkshire beer and of course plenty of Yorkshire puddings and gravy.
Thanks for looking

Oliver is gorgeous! His fur is a beautiful and as for his expression you always manage to capture the bears character so well - a skill in itself. No wonder he sold so quickly
