I got this last night in my email

A man was walking home alone late one
foggy night, when behind him he hears:

                BUMP...

                BUMP...

                BUMP...

Walking faster, he looks back and
through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its
way down the middle of the street toward him.

                BUMP...

                BUMP..

                BUMP..

Terrified, the man begins to run toward
his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him

                FASTER...

                FASTER...

                BUMP...

                BUMP...

                BUMP...

He runs up to his door, fumbles with his
keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him.

However, the casket crashes throught his
door, with the lid of the casket clapping...

                clappity-BUMP...

                clappity-BUMP...

                clappity-BUMP...

on his heels, the terrified man runs.

Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the
man locks himself in. His heart is pounding; his head is reeling; his
breath is coming in sobbing gasps.

With a loud CRASH the casket breaks down
the door.

                Bumping and clapping toward him.

The man screams and reaches for
something, anything,

but all he can find is a bottle of
Robitussin!

Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at
the casket...

                The coffin stops!

Thank you! She is 16 inches tall

Well thgis one sounds like fun. I would love to give it a go. I mean, it's not like I haven't got enough to do. Has anyone missed me? I have been busy preparing for a local show and an online show.. and taking care of puppies and visiting with my brother and Sister in law who were here from Florida. So what's a little ole challenge going to hurt. My email is sunnieone@verizon.net

False! My newest bears are called the Pleasingly Plump Pink and Pastel Pandas!

Ok.. so we were all typing at the same time!

I DO have a LARGE stash of mohair, but it is confined to two rooms..

But I still think the person below me loves to drive fast cars

OK.. I also held back, but feel I must comment. On one hand I can agree with the collectors point of view. As a contest entrant, I like to think my entry will be judged on it's merit. I was the URSA Prime winner last year and I truly would like to believe that my entry won on it's own merit. I did not solicite votes from everyone I knew in life. I DID send emails to my customers stating my entries, but asked that they vote for thier favorites. I received many emails from my customers saying how impressed they were over all of the entries and some even gushed over other artists entries. lol... And I didn't ask who they voted for.  My entry won second place in it's category. So I was totally shocked when it won the URSA Prime award. How could that be? I now understand how...  seeing that there were so many entries, the votes were fairly spread out in each category. The final vote was to chose the ONE entry you liked the best of ALL of the winning entries. I certainly would like to think that the votes I received were honestly and deservingly received.   I do understand how some artists and collectors alike would feel upset to think that thier entry did not win because they didn't campaign for votes. But that being said, the URSA competition in particular, the entrants were encouraged to campaign for votes. The winner this year clearly said that a lot of effort was spent campaigning for votes. The winner should in no way be faulted for that.  None of my entries this year made it into the final cut. Sure, I was a bit hurt, and yes, I took it personally for a minute or two.  But will I enter again. YES. I also enter the TOBY's and Golden Teddy's every year. I was happy to receive a nomination one year in BOTH and thrilled to win the TOBY. But again, I have entered every year since and not received a nomination.. but I don't let it stop me from entering. As an artist, it is so important to have our name out there.  The URSA competition and Bears and Buds Webzine is a wonderful tool for all artists to use to get thier name out there.  I know that Valerie does her very best to be fair. I don't know how to make this competition better or fairer (is that a word?) It is what it is. Vote campaigning was encouraged. Some take vote campaigning more seriously than others.  It is a touchy subject and I don't have the answers.. I just thought maybe you would like to hear  from a winner's perspective. I would just die if I thought that people were saying that I won because of anything other than the merit of my entry.

I thought my 6 were pretty darned good. lol.. Let's see, Ladybug and Tilly are pretty mellow.. But Sunnie (well he is very mellow too) BUT he has a major underwear fetish. My clothes hamper has holes all over it and Sunnie sticks his paws thru the holes and pulls my underwear close enough to where he can pull them out with his mouth. Then he takes them to where ever he keeps his undies stash and chews the crotch out of them (EEEUUUWW!)  I have to buy new ones about once a month! It is really embarassing if we have been out and happen to bring friends home with us. Nothing like walking in the front door with company and being greeted by a pair of black lacy undies in the entryway. lol

Then there is the babies. oh my! They are sooo funny. A couple of weeks ago I was in my computer room answering email. In the downstairs bathroom I have a wooden lighthouse box that sits on the floor near the toilet. I keep (USED TO) extra rolls of toilet paper in it.  When I walked out of the computer room into the family room, the entire room was covered with toilet paper and there was Beamer right in the middle of it laying on his back, wrapped up and covered in toilet paper. I just about died laughing. Then little Rainbow poked her head out from behind the sofa and had toilet paper bits stuck in her whiskers. TOO FUNNY.  Now where was my camera

I do my own upkeep on my website. I useed to be able to update it daily or every other day if need be, but it is getting harder and harder to do that. If I was better with organizing my time, I could easily keep up. I just have too many things I also want to do. lol

Laura Lynn,
You just might be pleasantly surprized. A couple of years ago, a local Art Guild asked me if I would be interested in a table at their semi-annual show that is held in a local hotel. They sell high end items mostly for the home, like oil paintings, stained glass, jewelry, hand painted clothing, wraught iron sculptures, etc) Since this is a very small town ( although they do have a teddy bear collectors club of about 15-20 people ) I didn't expect to sell anything either. The collectors club here mostly collects much less expensive bears. I was so surprised that it ended up being one of the best shows I ever did. I have done the show in April and in November. I found the April show to not be so good for me as far as sales go, so I no longer do that one, but the November show is great! This also led to being asked to come to other local club meetings and give a program about teddy bears and collecting. I have gained many new collectors locally since that first show. In fact I just finished two bears for a brand new collector who was at one of those meetings. I will be doing the show again in November and look forward to it.

Thank you all so much! I have had the greatest time in my life with these two sweet furbabies! I am so glad we decided to keep them. It is a lot of work, but oh, so sooooo worth it. With all of the dog food recalls, I started feeding them home cooked meals. I found recipes that have lots of chicken, tons of veggies (carrots, sweet patatoes, broccolli, celery, beets, green beans, zuccini, etc along with brown rice, quick cooking oats and pasta). All cooked then run thru a food processor, then frozen in containers that have enough in them (all 6) for one day. They LOVE it! and an added bonus, they are so much healthier!

Aaawww, so cute. Amazing how you're able to get them to pose so well...maybe you should take a second job as an animal photographer. I can't believe they're almost six months old.

It helps that my "studio" is the top of my chest freezer so they cannot jump down. lol

Well I haven't posted any pictures of the babies for a while so I thought you all might like to see how they are doing now at 5 1/2 months.  These were taken today.

First is Beamer who weighed 3.5 ounces at birth and now weighs 5 lbs 7 ounces

Then Rainbow who weighed 3.7 ounces at birth and now weighs 3 lbs 10 ounces

And both together (now that is a CHORE!)

It more than likely is NOT your printer. I got a clue when you mentioned that your computer shows black as grey and pale colors. Which means when you are designing your card, you are over compensating to make your red look red on your monitor, but when you print it, it will look like the REAL color. You need to adjust your monitor. I would first look in your monitors manual and se if you can set it back to default settings. If not, you need to increase the contrast and decrease the brightness.

I saw this on the Yorkie Talk forum. I think it is an adorable idea. After some ladies made them, they found they only fit the yorkies about 3 pounds. But it works great using a discarded sweater sleeve!
I am going to be making some for my yorkies

I just got home from a week long road trip. I made a custom Ranger bear for the Dancing Bear Folk Center in Thermopolis Wyoming. When I got done Mike said, Why don't we deliver it instead of mailing it? He was ready for a road trip. So off we went with Mommy and puppies in tow. It also gave me a chance to stop and visit friends in Utah that I hadn't seen for such a long time. We had a great time and a nice visit with Sue Blakey from the museum. We also visited LOTS of Buffulo and the Dinosaur cener in Thermopolis. If you ever get up that way, you MUST see the 150 foot long dinosaur in  their center. It is a world class exhibit. The teddy bear museum is currently looking for a new home.. hopefully a brand new building... so right now the displays are limited. We stayed in some adorable cabins in Thermopolis and the babies were so good. I made a little montage from the pictures we took on the way into town and in Thermopolis. Hope you enjoy.
