wow, good for you! I know that must've taken you so long to sew up all the shells. Is it your own pattern? they are adorable

psichick78

I love this pig, it really appeals to me.

psichick78

how big is this one?? I've always wanted you to make a little puddle!!!!!1

psichick78

I have done this twice, both ways.
Both times it was bec. we felt safer going thru ebay bec. they were such random sales. Once I contacted a lady on ebay asking her to make me a bag I had seen before. Once she finished she just posted an auction for me so it was legit. The other time I was contacted to sculpt 4 dragons for a lady and I put them on ebay for her to buy.
I don't think there is a way to really protect yourself other than agree on what time the auction is going up so the buyer can jump on right away to  purchase the item.

Not much help other than to say I've done it twice before.

Hello,

Sorry, I know I"m never on here, With a new baby and a tough task of finding a venue I don't participate like I would like to.

BUT........I had to come here to share this! It a 1948 video trying to promote girls sewing their own clothes. I have to admit you can learn a few things about sewing patterns but it's soo funny.

It's just amazing to me how it's done. They way men and woman are portrayed.  Cracks me up, I love vintage stuff like this.

It's almost 20 mins long so beware, but so totally worth it. Even if you just watch the 1st few mins.

Anyone think those days were the 'good old days'?

psichick78

wow, thanks everyone. I knew I would find some great advice here!

Most of you say that I should just enjoy every minute and I can see that. Already I can't believe she's almost 5 months old. Every time I put away clothing of hers that doesn't fit anymore I get a little bit sad. It's like saying good bye to my 'little' baby. No wonder moms call their grown children their baby. I think I get it now!

Judi, sounds like you've done that before! Sounds just like my day minus the other children. I have no idea how I"ll be able to handle more than one. I now know being a mom IS the toughest job out there.

Daph, you are right though. I should start incorporating bear making into my day now. Even if I don't get much done. It's easy to get out of the swing of things and then it's tough to get back into it. I never knew you were a nanny. Sounds like you learned lots about kids doing that. Oh and I know, it's easy now that I can just put her on her floor mat and she stays. I have a feeling motherhood never really gets easy............ bear_wacko

Mel, that sounds about right. I can see after a year I'll have a bit more time and desire to get back into doing something for me. Time does go by so fast. Just yesterday I was pregant and waiting to feel movement. It's almost scarey.

MJ, it's nice to know how you make bears. It's not as if you're able to sit for hours and make them so that makes me feel a bit better. I am craving a little me time. Not me as mommy time but just me time. I think bearmaking is perfect for that.

So thanks, I still think mom's are super heros!!

As for an update. Kail is doing great. She doesn't cry all the time and I find her a real joy to have around. Amazing what great company a baby can be. I love her more everyday and have learned a whole lot about myself. Nursing is going great, it's sure worth it to stick with it.
I'm keeping busy and I make sure I shower and get out of the house everyday. We go swimming and I even bought a zoo pass so me and my other mom friends have a great place to walk around and chat. Who said going to the zoo was for the kids! LOL

And just because you asked..........he he he here are some pictures. All these were taken around 2 weeks to present. Babies grow way to fast!

Asleep on daddy while he plays playstation. This was while she was still colicy.

Ok, so baby is napping and I'm snooping here. I really want to get back into bearmaking as I haven't made anything since the baby came (4.5 months ago).
Her colic is over.......    so I do have a BIT more time but I"m either resting, cleaning, cooking.......you get it.

I know some of you have little ones like I do and some have older ones. How do you guys find the time?? Do you find you have to give other things up to make time for bearmaking or am I just totally not organized??
I miss being creative, although being a mom is better I still want to make bears again.

psichick78

Bears? What are those?? Gee, I haven't even seen my bear making stuff ever since I gave birth.
Coming on here sure makes me want to dig out it though but I'll stick to planning a bear show in my spare time.

psichick78

Well, that sucks. My advice for next time is to partition your hard drive that way you won't loose everything and you don't have to back stuff up.
What a bummer though, I know there is so much that is important to me on my PC I'd die if I lost it. ]
I hope you can get your stuff back!

psichick78

Thanks for the feedback guys. Without the artists there is no show so I always appreciate the feedback, keep it coming!

psichick78

Kristina,

Thank you for your question. I'm glad I popped on TT tonight.

I am still negociating with the hotel for a date for next year. I am hoping to hold the show in Sept. or Oct. but those are big conference months so it's proving a little difficult.
I am getting ready to make a final decision by the end of the month.

I'd be interested to know if artists would be willing to have the show in August again as long as it's not the August long weekend, just in case I need a plan B.

You can email me anytime at events@flyingfurstudios.com.

psichick78

This is just about the funniest thing I've seen in a long while. It's bleeped, but it's vulgar so dont' watch if you're easily offended, although this isn't THAT bad.

he he he eh eh e

psichick78

Sorry to re-hash and old thread...........but no-one has suggest one great thing to do.

How can I put this.........when there is no power, it's a great time to get under the covers with your honey and.................."snuggle"
That's what I would do anyway.

psichick78

congrats! How wonderful!! Glad I came online today to hear the news!

psichick78

I know, tell me about it! I feel so stuck at home with the little baby. No walks around the block for a while I guess! LOL

psichick78

He he he,
how cool.
My two favorite smells are an old hardcover book from the library and the smell of my dogs feet.

My husband thinks I'm discusting for the second one but I dont' care.

Thanks for posting this Daph. I love that I'm not alone in my weird smell preferences.

psichick78

(shhhhhhhhhhhhhh) is it bad to say your version is cuter???  bear_whistle  bear_whistle  bear_whistle

psichick78

Seemed like before baby, at work I could pop in several times a day, and post as much as I want.
Now I usually have a crying baby on my lap and typing one handed is tough, so I'm a total lurker now. Glad to know I'm not the only one bec. I do feel some guilt about it, but hey. If you can get me more "me time" I'd gladly post more!!!!!!!!!!

psichick78

Sue Ann, that is an amazing cat bed. I can't believe how good it looks.........you have real sewing talent.

I will try and think of something kid friendly that uses mohair.........this could be fun.

psichick78

Hey everyone,
Man, being a mom is the greatest thing in the whole world. I can't believe how fast my pregnancy went.
All that stress about labor and what it will be like to be a mom now seems like past history and it's just 12 weeks today.
Babies grow soo fast, I had no idea! I want to hold on to this stage forever, although Kail is very colicy and I can't wait for that to pass either.
I'm lucky because I have 1yr off so at least I can devote all my time to her, just breastfeeding alone is a part-time job.
Anyway, I've missed the bear world. I soooooo want to get back into bear making and show producing and will as soon as I can. I do pop in here from time to time. I need my fix of new teddies to look at.

Like any proud momma, I couldn't just find one picture to share so here are a bunch to bore you.......LOL I think she's the cutest baby in the world though. Oh, and the smartest baby ever to appear on this earth! LOL  bear_wacko

going to her 1st party........

Bundled up to face the Canadian winter, which she loves by the way......

Her fav. way to be held by daddy
LITTLE_ONES_2.jpg

My fav. picture ever of her. Being so colicy she spends a lot of time crying so happy moments like this are precious. She just loves that toy on the swing now that she can pay attention to it.
LITTLE_ONES_3.jpg

I just took this yesterday. I love how babies can fall alseep like that. Her eyes are all red as she was crying.
LITTLE_ONES_4.jpg

Ok, sorry to bore you but I had to show her off!!!

psichick78

wow, soo cute. They just keep getting better and better........you're awesome!

psichick78

wow, now THAT is cool. So lucky you are!

psichick78

I love having a helper. I've posted these pics before, but I love them and I'm going to post it again while I'm in the mood.
