You talking to me? Do you mean me Deb?
Regular genius isn't she?

Poor Aleta! She had so many people storm her house to take over her lovely studio that she got the flu!!!
Well, I didn't give it to her. I've had my flu shot. Must have been you-know-who.
Yuck! Hope you're feeling better soon Aleta.
I had my flu shot this year, so am hoping to make it through unscathed!
Will not miss it! No excuse to either with being just a little less than an hour away. Won't leave until I've met everyone from TT who is going. Maybe next year, I'll even think about having a table.
P.S. I am SO serious ... if anyone needs a place to crash, please let me know.
KATE ~ Whoohoo! Thank you SO much!
It amazes me how sometimes how you might just take a chance posting something here, but SOMEONE always has the answer. Love it. Actually the cost to purchase is about the same as the 3/4" solid hardwood we purchased. But installation cost of the hardwood is very high, and would be a killer. I (we) can install the engineered (floating style) myself and save a bunch.
BRENDA ~ Pergo is a brand of laminate flooring that isn't real wood at all ... normally. They do, however, have a small line of engineered flooring. The only place I've seen it is at Lowe's Home Improvement, so I'm wondering if they make it only for Lowe's. Hmm?
DAPHNE ~ Hubby has bad allergies and asthma. No matter how much I clean, stuff gets trapped in the carpet and won't come out. I have to (unfortunately) SEE my dirt.
Somehow, don't ask how cuz I don't know ... but somehow the upstairs studio project has tricked down the stairs.
Last week we had the hall carpeting and the hardwood floor that was in the entrance ripped out and put down 3/4" hardwood (oak, 2-1/4" planks). The wood that was there was wide and very light and we just didn't like it. Could have refinished and stained it ... but what are the chances it would have then matched the hall.
ANYWAY ... now Dave wants to do the bedrooms. I found some engineered hardwood that is nearly identical in color to what we just put in the hall and am thinking of putting that in the bedrooms BECAUSE although the cost of the flooring is about the same (in the ballpark), I could save a small fortune in labor because engineered flooring we can install.
From all I've read, a good engineered hardwood flooring even out performs hardwood, and finish guarantees are excellent. My thinking is the bedrooms aren't high traffic areas, and theoretically, I shouldn't EVER have to have them refinished, and therefore, don't need to put down regular 3/4".
What's your experience with the engineered stuff?
Call the doctor Jenn - you don't get pain for nothin hon.
What she said.
To call yourself an artist sometimes feels ... assuming I guess. Like it shouldn't be up to you to call your work or art, or yourself an artist ... that's up to the rest of the world. You just keep on doing what you're doing. Kinda.
That's a ghastly mistake?
Congratulations SueAnn, on Burleson's nomination!
SHelli, that IS the longest post EVER!!!!!!! Good reading though.
You're finished with it? You're fast Heather!
Yes. You're inspired, you plan, you design, you select mediums, you create it, you put on finishing touches, you starve trying to sell it ... isn't that art?
P.S. Penny and I are on our way to "talk" with your friends.
Congrats Judi on your TOBY nomination!
Geeeeeeez ... I had you figured for 30 years old Brenda. You're not a Gramma!
Nope, they're just leather, no fabric. I used the heavier cord though.
I'd love to take my daughter for a weekend of shopping. What a fun place! I'll give you a call and you can come meet us for dinner!

Heather ~ That bear is wonderful. I don't remember seeing him. Love the lids.
Shelli ~ Could you either:
1) Make a "jacket" for the eye, sewing the lid by hand to a backing which would remain behind the eye and even have a hole for the wire to go through?
or
2) Use liquid Sculpey to put the lid on the eye and bake the sucker on there?
Hehe! I'm so confused I'm going to just check out the site myself to look for a link! Hooray for Sophie ... a very patient teacher/coach! No reflection of course on the student to which this thread refers!
I'm off to look now!
P.S. Do NOT listen to Sophie about the chocolates!
I am in Berks County...
Kim ~ Then there's a Mechanicsburg way over near the Ohio border ... I didn't know until I got out my trusty map (program) to see how far she might be from Reading that there was another Mechanicsburgh in PA.
Speaking of Reading, is it still the great shopping area it was years ago. I remember loading up in the car and driving to Reading to shop a couple times a year. Do you head down to the King of Prussia mall to shop? I stopped just once on my way home from Philly. Shopped for three hours and never got out of the first store. The place is huge. Lucky girl! AND no sales tax on clothing.
No help here, but they are sure adorable. Very sad looking, but adorable.
Nooooooooooo! I wouldn't do that. Was referring to your post at Will anybody be reporting from Hugglets??
You absolutely crack me up woman!
Shelli & SueAnn ~ Great big huge and sincere congratulations and hugs! You both make me glad to know you! HOORAY!
Warmest regards,
Deb
Judi ~ Thanks for tooting their horn for them!k

Let me think ... .
OKAY ... you can come , but you have to be nice and not make me sleep in a tent.
Thanks Sophie, I'm going now to see if I can catch some events.
