Thanks, Linda.  I looked at the AQIS site and found some things that confuse me.  For example, in the"What Can't be Mailed to Australia" brochure it says  "souvenirs, artefacts and goods made of animal products such as raw hide, feathers, teeth, bones, wool and animal hair" are not allowed.  Would that include stuffed bears or not?  And specifically regarding wool, it sounds like items made with scoured wool are subject to inspection and may require some sort of certification that the wool has been scoured--I found this on the following page:  http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/import/gene … 09/46-2009.  I don't even know if the wool that I use has been scoured the way they want it or if's just been cleaned and carded.  I just don't know what it all means.  But you probably have a better sense of it and are probably right.

Warmly,
Cheryl

I have some bamboo stuffing, but everytime I try to use it I wind up pullling it out again.  bear_wacko  It just gets so lumpy and bumpy.  I really would like it to work because I would love to use a stuffing made from renewable fibers.  I've thought of using wool, but I'm afraid to try it in case someone from Australia bought the bear--I don't think wool is allowed to go into Australia.

Anyways, I hope it works well for you Aleta and that you can give us some pointers.

Warmly,
Cheryl

Oh no, Tami!  I never thought you did anything wrong!  I believe you can enter as many as you want per category--it's completely TBR's responsibility.  I just noticed that you had two entries (both of which are FABULOUS, by the way!!  bear_wub ) and have been concerned that it could work against you.  It could split the vote and that's just not fair to you!  That's the only reason I brought it up.  I'm sorry I wasn't more specific (sometimes my brain is a little slow due to my health issues).

Beside nominating one artist twice in the needlefelted category this year, I noticed they also did this in the "Artist Bear, Undressed, 14 inches & over" category.

I understand completely.  I must admit though, that I will truly miss the Cute Animal Pic of the Day.  My girls and I always look forward to seeing what you post.  Thank you for all the time and energy you have spent scouring websites looking for great photos and posting them for us day after day after day--it has been greatly appreciated.

I guess I'm thinking it was the coyotes since it was a "pinpoint" hole.  I haven't looked at the teeth of bears vs. coyotes, but my gut tells me that the coyote's teeth would be smaller in diameter and more likely to make a pinpoint hole.  I know, I know...but that's the story I'm sticking to (it's just easier to take).

I agree with the others--if you are even considering it, then it is TIME to try something new and bring your creativity up a notch.  I know it can feel challenging and difficult to try new things and to find a direction all your own, but in the end it is SO worth the effort.      bear_original

You have every right to say "No" to them.  It's your home, your family, and your business.  I must admit I'm not sure why they want to visit you with an open-door policy until September--that's more than most anyone's patience can stand.  I don't even know why they would ask.

If your husband feels like he just can't say "No," then I really think you should utilize Clare's idea.  They can come to your home, but they cannot stay in your sewing room because you have a business to run.  They can sleep on the living room floor on a blow-up mattress or something.

Good luck!  It's such a difficult situation.

Cheryl

We are all very sad in our house today. bear_cry   I know it's the way of nature, but it's still so very sad.

To answer your question, Tami.  I think there was enough milk for Jason even with Hope nursing--nursing is completely a supply and demand kind of thing.  I think I also read that he looked about the same weight as Faith, so he had to have had enough milk at some point.  But there may have been something wrong with him and his nursing may have decreased, hence the smaller swelling at "his" nipple.  I'm anxious to read about the autopsy.

It's going to be hard to motivate myself to do much of anything today.  So sad.
