Kathy, are you poking and fray-checking an awl hole into which the eye wires will insert, first?
I am using the eyes with straight wires, not the looped ones. Yes I have to poke a hole and use fray check too. but the trouble is with getting the wire to shove thru the head stuffing.
lately I have just given up on the wire eyes and using onyx round bead and czech glass round matte beads for eyes. It was just easier.
Kathy
you can get scraps and end pieces for reasonable. Edinbrugh imports has a grab bag deal for mini fabric that is cheap and good fabric.
Sassy bears and fabrics always has great prices for mini fabric.
Kathy
Hey does anybody have trouble getting the wires to go thru your head??? sometimes I can't get the wires to go thru the head I get so Frustrated with it .
does anybody have a good solution. Sometimes I resort to poking a thick needle thru the head to get the wire thru!!
What about you guys???

Tis the season all right. Hang in there Dilu. Definitely check into that Light Therapy.
Myself I enjoy the winter,
but where I live even when it snows alot here the sun always comes out and we have great sunny days with feets of snow on the ground.
though I don't enjoy the late spring. last year I didn't think it would ever end. It snowed til june 15th and June 16th it was 70 F. Crazy sometimes.
Here is a big hug for you, Dilu    .
Me it's not the weather that gets me down. Somedays it's nothing at all. but I get over it. Good Friends and a wonderful husband always help. :rose:
Hugs,
Kathy
Okay here is the very first bear. I thought she was adorable when I made her. when I look at her now, I want to fix her lopsided head, ears, uneven arms, legs, the loosest joints on the planet. I still think she is adorable.
Kathy
Awesome bear Jared, Ilove those pictures of your niece. She is just adorable.
Nice story of the names too. Jessie is a family name for us too. Though I did the same as your sister and took thier middle names because we already had so many Jessie's. I Like unique names and MaeLynn has a great sound to it.
Kathy

Kathy
Oh KIm

It is a really good thing they can't hear till you sew their ears on because I have said some really bad words when I stuck my fingers with the needle.
Oh I am still laughing

Thanks guys,
Sassy long pile, and Smokey long pile. Smokey long pile has a dark black backing gives the bear a whole different hue.
It is easy to work with and gives the bear a great furry look. She sells the best stuff
and super fast shipping!!!!!
One of my favorites.
Helena, this one hasn't sold yet but my LIl' Violet sold! Here is her picture
What a gorgeous home, I love RED. What lovely colors. You have a beautiful home!
kathy
Okay guys,
Here she is, Oakley my newest mini bear I just listed on Ebay. :)
After a long dry spell, I finally sold one this week too. Yeah!! Can't justify buying more mohair and joints, etc. to the hubby unless I can sell one now and then.
Oh I have to work really hard to avoid that too. Sometimes it seems now matter how hard I try thier little head leans. I am sure it is dominant hand sided lean problem.
Glad I am not the only one, good to see I am in good company, Dilu
Kathy
Very cute, I really like him. Rascal that's a fitting.
Breathe deep, Shelli, sound like you are getting a little worked up there.
we don't have raccoons here, lots of Skunk and tons of Badgers no raccoons.
After hearing Shelli, kind of glad of that.
Kathy
I just ordered some lock nuts and bolts with washers now
Someone ( Dilu) is going to have to" splain it to me" cause I am not sure how to do it.
:P
Kathy
Won't he look nice under somones Tree?! Very nice job
Kathy

It is obvious to me that there are alot of people who really care about you here, Please reconsider leaving. I never read your Christmas card Post soI don't know what happened with your Christmas card list but I am sure I can imagine. People can be hurtful and rude. I am sorry that anyone has hurt your feeling.
Don't let just a few nasty people drive you away from so many who love and value you.
I am praying for you.
Love,
Kathy
Okay I am definetly getting some locknuts and bolts. this bear has really loose joints kind of makes her like a newborn cub with her arms are curled.
Thanks for the help. she is probably a keeper. My daughter is in love with her.
Hugs,
Kathy
oh I agree I use Sassy Bears and Fabrics all the time. She has some patterns and Kits too. They come with a pattern, instructions and fabric for making mini bear. I would start with one of those and then you can see how you like it with out investing a fortune.
Fabric buying can be come a whole nother addiction.
Kathy
okay after closely examining the bear I think the only bumpy seam is the back and I think I can fix it. Here is the picture. she is the largest bear I have ever made.
I made a bear from real fur, lined with muslin. The seams feel all bumpy. It doesn't show on the bear but if you feel the seams they feel bumpy. :/
And how do you get the joints tighter on the real fur. I had a terrible time with the joints. I used thin discs 1" with cotter pins.
