Have a great holiday Tami. :rose:
I am off to Yorkshire next week for my hols so no tt for a week although I am sure I will find plenty of nice walks to keep me amused
Laurie
I too had the same problem as you Eliza when I made my first few bears.I bought some fur and as I stuffed the bear it came off in my hand so from then I have mostly used schulte as I like the quality of it.Helmbold is on my to do list when I get around to sending off for some samples from Intercal so let us know how you get on.I have used helmbold a few times and the backing is thinner than schulte on the ones I used but they still made up very nice bears. It is nice to have a good selection though to give you variety.
Laurie
She looks great Lisa-I bet you had great fun making her.
Laurie
I have the same problem as you Catherine.I have been making bears for just over 2 years now and find some of my bears have a similar look and others look nothing like each other even though I have used the same pattern and size.I don't mind sometimes as it means you never know what the next creation is going to look like and that can be fun but then I find it annoying when I make a bear and know what or who I want to look like and it doesn't come out nothing like it
If your collectors know what your work is like that is a good thing but what can you do when these bears have a mind of their own
Laurie
Get well soon Katrina

You look great Danni and you also look about 10 years younger

I might get around to doing a blog one of these days but I would rather spend the time making bears and on tt.It can make you feel a bit pressurised when everyone says that they are going to do a blog but as Aleta says do one because it is right for you and no other reason.
Marlys you come across as a very nice person from what I see in your posts and you are very brave to tell us personal things about your life.People can be so cruel to you in life and they are not worth knowing as they are only trying to make your life a misery so don't feel bad about yourself because of it.Please post some piccies of your bears as we all would love to see them and if you enjoy making them that is all that matters and I am sure they will be lovely
Laurie
Congratulations Jodi.Your bears are lovely and it is a great article
Laurie
This one made me laugh Tami.He looks as if he is saying "wheres my dinner then"
Laurie
It is interesting to see how artists make their bears and what they do to get them just right.Like you Anna I leave them for my balinese boys to play with if they aren't up to scratch.
I do like it when my bears all look so different as you never know what they will look like and that is part of the fun in making them but when I see artists bears that all look virtually the same bear in a different colour I sometimes wish I could do that with mine because when you have a piece of fur and know what you want it to look like and it comes out nothing like it is sooo frustrating
I also find that if I don't like the bear I find it hard to make myself finish it but then if I don't like it it doesn't mean to say that a prospective buyer won't.
Laurie
Congratulations Tammy

I was just wondering how many heads do you do when making a bear so that it is how you want it?
When making bears I usually make a head and sometimes I love it,other times I think it is ok and other times I don't like it at all.I never know whether I should redo the head on those I don't like although I have found that people just as readily buy the ones I don't like so is it just personal taste?
I also wondered whether artists that make such similar bears have to keep trying to get the same look or do they just come out looking the same as I can never seem to get many of my bears to look the same as they seem to have a mind of their own when making them and they can all look so different you would never dream that I had used the same pattern in the same size.
Laurie
They are gorgeous Sonya
I am already waiting for next weeks piccies

I think it is great that you can get out and about. What about those bears-will you get any done now you are mobile?
Laurie
It's so funny, I went to the bathroom and Bella my chihuahua started trying to get in, what is up with that, it must be a universal dog thing.
It is definately a cat thing too Jodi as when I go to the bathroom and shut the door there is often 3 cats sitting outside waiting for me when I come out but then they know it is another excuse for a cuddle.
They were fun to read Aleta
Laurie
They are gorgeous Sonya. You will have to show us more photos as they grow-I just love puppies when they are running about as they are so sweet.

Goodness ...all these exotic and far flung places get my imagination going...and here's me, happy as a sand-boy mooching around Whitby and the beautiful moors in Yorkshire..or anywhere in Yorkshire basically...followed by Padstow and around about there in Cornwall...I must be going wrong somewhere along the line....
I couldn't agree with you more Jenny.I love North Yorkshire and we are going in a log cabin at Keldy near Pickering in 3 weeks time and I can't wait YIPPEE.We go every year and I never get fed up of walking and the scenery around there-if it were possible I would love to live there
Laurie
