Oh Guys,
The bears look too fabulous!
Little Finn is just poking his head in at the moment, the rest are too shy!
Can't wait to see all the bears in all of their glory!!!
Mel
I have an Australian Artist staying with me at the moment
Oh Sandra, it's not just "anyone" if it's the lovely lady I'm thinking of, Hugglets will be stoked (read: excited for the non Aussies) to have her.
"She" (not the cat's mother) should just give them a call or send an email with some pics of her amazing work and see how she goes, I think the British bear collectors would love to see her work in the fur.
Mel
What the hay! Hey- sounds like an excellent project for the upcoming "indulgent" season.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of the "Yummy Treats", but I'm afraid I'll be sleeping on it to get some inspiration, or maybe I should be watching a cooking show!
Thanks Judy for helping us stretch the old grey matter...
Mel
Oooh Paula,
I'm intrigued- sign me up.
I'm loving these challenges- great to do something out of the norm!
I'll look forward to getting the piece.
Mel
It's addictive hey Sandi!
Here's little Dudley "dressing up"
I'm definitely going to bed now...
"Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold"
Oh Roxanne,
I remember the character from a book I read in school, just not the title- it's a classic but it escapes me for now!
Didn't the movie star all of the male "Brat Pack" and then some.......
it's bugging me, someone put me out of my misery!
Mel
Ellen,
How did you know that? For many years I didn't drink tea or coffee. But I'm a complete tea convert now!!! No more cola, it was killing me slowly
But the person below me loves going to the beach!
Well, well, well,
My little avatar wanted to have go before I went and did some sewing for the day.
Here is Bosley in all of his Christmas glory
Can't wait to see more little Christmas friends soon.
This is a digital challenge, not a bearmaking challenge, so you can feature new bears you've made in your graphic image, or feature older work.
That sounds good Shelli, you know when you just get an idea that you have to do, it just seemed to tie in with the theme But maybe an old friend might join the fun too!
Wow, I love the idea of this challenge, great to stretch the mind a bit!
Shelli, is Xmas the deadline or a little earlier?
I've just finished a new pattern for a Christmas helper that would fit quite nicely with that colour scheme (he was an inspiration I had whilst trying to do a Halloween challenge piece- that I have not even come close to finishing yet!) but it will be a little time before he comes to life in the "fur"!
Cheers
Mel
Well kinda Patsy,
I've got two with no immediate plans for a third! It's already hard enough when they run in the opposite direction .
But the person below me has travelled to far off places.
Mel
Great thread Catherine,
It's been ten years since I made this 6.5cm little tacker on the left (he was my 6th bear but first mini), the 9cm fellow on the right I finished last week.
There is a bit of a difference in size and finish, but I'm glad I stuck with it, finishing them these days gives me a huge thrill.
I only have little ones on display at the moment, but if I find my first ever bear who's living in a bear cave at the moment I'll get a picture of him and add it too. From memory he truly is a sight to behold .
Mel
"Woman!! Where's my super suit?"
I have a 5 yr old running around yelling this line at me on a daily basis now that Halloween is coming.....
   just like "greater good, I am your wife - I'm the greatest good you're ever gonna get!!!!"
My boys are actually watching it at this very moment....
But alas I've had many a turn, I'll wait for the next time zone to pick this up...
I haven't heard that term used often, but I think it is the seam that is formed when joining the side head pieces together from the nose tip to the neck (or adams apple position for ease of reference) which gives a teddy his "chin" or really the bottom of his muzzle.
You then sew in your gusset into place.
Let me know if that explains it, if not I can always take a picture of a head in progress or maybe someone has one in their files already!
Hope this helps,
Mel
Marion where are you???? We're waiting for our next quote!
Another great idea Chrissie,
I'll be playing both, although you've got me with this one!
I'll keep pondering it though and it might pop into my head...
Mel
Hi Guys,
After seeing all of the amazing work everyone has done in this challenge, I couldn't help myself- I just had to have a go and here is my effort:
Little Bingo is a needle felted fella that stands proud at just 1 3/4 inches. It's been fun trying something new, he is only my third attempt at needle felting, but its definitely a technique that I enjoy and will keep learning about.
Cheers Mel
The Wedding Singer!!!
I love that movie
Tag Debbie, your it!
I know, I know, I know!!!!!! Can I go again?!?!?
Go for it Debbie!
Actuallly Mel you're likely to be one of the few people who'd know one of my very favourite ever lines from a movie....."that's going straight to the pool room" Far to obscure for the US/UK people here.
Oh Mr Kerrigan: " jousting sticks....how much does does he want for 'em, ....., tell 'im he's dreamin' "
One of the funniest Australian efforts The Castle. Great crack hey!
Anyway for all of you on the other side of the world and this one too, I've decided to go "retro";
"well...you've just inspired me to hire a DJ!"
A little hint, it stars another one of my favourite funny men.
Oh and and another thing, I'm a bit confused are we down to just one quote at the moment?
Mel
ok....this is an easy one.
Men are rats, listen to me, they're fleas on rats, worse than that, they're amoebas on fleas on rats.
It's a classic though- Frenchie from Grease, (love that pink hair!) we were just watching the rerun on telly last week I think, for the hundredth time or so.....
Mel
Oh Shelli,
Before I had kids I used to see practically every thing that came out- now I get to see one every six months or so like I said before though if the quotes have anything to do with Nemo or "Cars" I've got it covered.
Oh by the way if anyone hasn't seen Ratatouille yet, go and see it, great animation, very sweet and awesome if you want to have a go at designing some rat buddies for your bears.
I haven't known all of these, just a few, but in regards to our current quote, I know this one because it is (for some reason) a blokes favourite and Andrew used to watch it quite often years ago.
I'll give you another hint to go with Eliza's though,
Nope, not Beetlejuice....
and yes, it is a dark movie with a heartthrob actor (who has a small role in this and who did a pretty bad acting job)
hint: this movie is perfect for Halloween...
our handsome hero has starred in one of the previous movie quotes- but he is wooden in this and he is not the "main" character.
It is funny how some things stick in your head, but I guess after you see it over 20 times, it will do that.
I can't wait for the next one! I think everyone will have to come back on board for answering so that the thread speeds up a bit, what do you guys think?
Hey Eliza,
I've already had a go, but is this movie one with another 90's heart throb in his glory years- on the darker side?
I seem to recall it from one of hubby's favourite video picks....mind you I might be right off track here!
Mel
Ahh fellow movie buffs, I'm so excited...
after this thread started the other day, and Better Off Dead was mentioned, I just had to buy it. I haven't seen it since that first time I hired it on video in 19 something a rather (way to long ago to mention). On ebay I managed to get a new copy and I received it today.
I love it when something jogs your memory like this. It's a classic funny movie, even got the popcorn sorted to watch it tomorrow and reminisce.
So, hope you get a quote soon Jane, I'm waiting for the next knock on the head.
Mel
