Daphne - is that a special mohair that was created just for the film?
Did they pick it or did you?
Sorry I missed the beginning of this thread/topic.
Marion told me about TT late in Feb? March? last year and I remember only your writing that you'll be sooo glad when this project would be over!
Bobbie... that was plush (loopy) felt from Jo Ann's!!!!!! I sent mohair and alpaca and wool samples as well as that one and that's what they picked. Can you believe it!?!?!?!?!?! Of all the fur in all the world! Well, anyway, it gave the worn look they wanted. Now, for the mohair edition Tonner Doll is doing I have no idea what the end result will be but I'm thrilled that they are able to use mohair for it!!!!
Laura... hearing you tell about our day makes my head spin! I did have a moment or two where I wondered if perhaps we were... well.... NUTS! But once my plane landed in NYC I knew it was indeed worth it!
Daphne, this is just SOOO exciting! I am so happy that everything is working out so well for you! BIG CONGRATULATIONS! And thanks so much for sharing the pictures from New York. I loved finally getting to see what the bear SueAnn designed for Steiff looked like too! I can't wait to see the Mimsy movie and I would so love to order one of the Mimsy bunnies - I need to get selling bears again so I can afford one before they are all gone!
You rock Daphne!!! The pictures were great to see and here's hoping that this opens up new doors for you. Can someone tell me what age group ( children ) this movie is appropriate for?
Looking forward to receiving my Emma and Mimzy
Hugs
Gail
Gail, The movie is rated PG and really is appropriate for all audiences. My friend took her 5 and 8 yr olds with her tonight and they loved it. The 12 yr old did too. Older than that and I think most kids will think they are "too cool" for such a movie. There are parts a young child won't understand but the visual effects will keep them interested through the parts they may not otherwise 'get'.
Daphne,
I just went to check my Yahoo email account, www.yahoo.com and there is a Movie Review of Mimzy on the main page -haven't time to read all of them - company is arriving, but thought you might like to see them!
hugs,
Brenda
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is great - I am so very happy for you. I loved the pictures too - thanks.
 I'm SOOOOO excited for you!!!!! Just loved all the pics on your website....makes all the struggle seem worth it now....welll....maybe at least its fading into the background just a bit  LOL
Lord Bluebeary the SEcond sends his two thumbs up and hugs n kudos   He knew you could do it all along!!! And so could I
Daphne, I saw the movie today , I went all by my self , and I really enjoyed it.I bet this has been very exciteing for you. And your pictures are wonderful in New Your. Congratulations. That bunny is adorible. I would love to have a small one.
I did a viewer review - and mentioned the Mimzy-maker as Daphne B.!!
You should be written up somewhere!!!!! Biut it's review #240 I think, and no one's going to read after the first 20 or so, but it's there!!!
Thank you, Bobbie!!!
Jodi - I'm sure in time you'll be able to find little Mimzies in Wal Mart!
You guys won't believe how many orders I've taken since the early evening showing of the movie last night (opening night)....... mothers with daughters INSISTING they have their very own Mimzy!! I've heard some wonderful stories! Anyway... I'm almost all sold out except for the ones I'll be bringing to my show at the end of April in Bedford, NH! I've needed a secretary this weekend to keep track of the phone calls, emails, and orders, credit cards needing approvals, boxes that need to be shipped....... I'm not complaining mind you..... my life has simply gone from rather quiet to being grand central station!
Henry has been getting shelves and other stuff hung in my studio which still isn't together since I moved to a different room in the house about 6 weeks ago. We've got until the reporter from television shows up Wednesday at 11am. And I'm trying to get some bears made. I'm going to have BIG circles under my eyes when the camera man shows up! Nothing like a giant torch being lit under my bottom to get things done!!!
This is fun but I'm glad it's temporary!!!!!
Great pix Daphne! How exciting. I am glad to see you are imortalizing your bunny out of mohair.      I wish there was an FOA Shwartz store near me...but then I'd be broke.
Anway
Daphne,
Are the mohair Mimzy's actually finished and ready for sale, or are you just taking orders?
hugs,
Brenda
Daph, I saw YOUR movie today with Toby, Noah, and hubby, and we all loved it, truly. The bunnies were perfect and I was so proud to know their maker. Congratulations again on all the attention and success this relationship has brought you. It's well deserved!
PS I'm just curious why no one is exclaiming about how awesome it is that Daphne met Timothy Hutton. That guy is a fox!

I have to agree! He's got the nicest eyes and smile and he seemed very sincere. He has almost an impish/mischevious twinkle in his eye at times. I spoke to him only briefly but really felt like he was a down to earth kind of guy.... the kind you wouldn't mind bringing home to meet your parents!
Brenda.... I'm sold out! But for the record, as my website says (and Tonner's website too I think) the mohair Mimzies will be out in May. They are still "in process" outside the US.
Ahh, Tim Hutton... I had a crush on his Dad, Jim, decades ago. Too cute!!!!
Lucky Daphne! I remember Timothy Hutton from as far back as TAPS and Ordinary People (which, by the way, I somehow never saw.) He stars with Meg Ryan in my favorite romantic comedy of all time -- French Kiss. So dreamy! <sigh> He looks older in Mimzy, but just yummily so.
Bobbie...I'm with you. I was crazy about Jim Hutton; he was soooo cute and he died way too young.
Daphne, this is all so freakin" exciting!!! I am so happy for you. You must be on "Cloud 9".
I can't beleive how fast people have gotten on The Mimzy bandwagon on Ebay. I don't know how people get their hands on this stuff before the rest of the World.
Well, I'm going to go look at your pictures now. We want to see video of your interveiw
Big Hugs,
Denise
A lot fo stuff showed up on eBay the night after the signing on Monday in NYC. Employees and fans could get their hands on lots of stuff.
And anyone attending a sneak preview got goodies... all of which have been on eBay since the frist sneak on Mar 10. Now that shops are selling out of Mimzies before they even get them you'll be finding Mimzy on eBay for waaaaaaay too much money! The autographed ones..... those prices kill me!
your autograph is well worth it if i had the movie which is always sold out around here id ask you to autograph it id be so honored oh my goodness you rock you are the main basis of the film that little bunny is so staticool.
