Bravo  brilliantly told. I have always loved gollies I had 2 as a child in the fortys they were called, Golly Wog and Polly Wog, now I know why. My gollies mysteriously disappeared ni the sixtys when I was leaving home and my room was turned into storage. I think of them every time I visit T T.
Gollies were even immortalized by rock and roll, remember "GOOD GOLLY" Miss Molly
Long live gollies every where

Dear Sophie
Dent give up, our government is trying very hard to persuade students to take more science subjects at university, but at the same time the colleges are struggling for funds. Oxford is one of our best. I think your english exellent and shouldn't be a problem at all. I am english and couldn't do much better and my French is shameful

Estelle

never done that but have baked banas in black rum and brown suagr and just a touch of mallasses, its a real treat served hot on a cold night, kills coughs and colds stone dead .Or at least you forget you had one  bear_tongue Oh i forgot you need a large dollop of Vannilla icecream on the side

Estelle

ooooooooooooh i have gone up yet another dress size reading this  I wish I hadnt asked I shall dream about smores tonight and all you folk sitting round a campfire munching away. I am mad about peanut butter I like the smooth one best. I am learning so much about all you lovelly Stateside teddiacs, its great

Estelle

they sound great but is a hershy bar an ordinary chocolate bar we don't have them either.
Of course none of this contains any calories

Estelle

I dont know if i have splled this correctly , but i often hear smores mentioned on U S tellevission shows can someone tell me what they are please?  bear_rolleyes

Estelle

I dont know anyone elses take on this but I consider a bear artist to be anyone who designs bears and makes there own patterns they could be made of any fabric including patchwork, and by any method, to me its a form of soft sculpture and the original creative input that counts. If someone buys a pattern and makes a bear without alteration that is craft as the creative bit has allready been done. I hope that makes sense?

Estelle

good tip I shall do one panel at a time

Estelle

I have seen those in the shops over here in the U K what a good idea I shall buy one to try, they look as thouhg you could easily alter them anyway  thanks for the tip

Estelle

Glad you enjoyed you visit you must come over to the U K  again some time  bear_grin bear_grin

I have had a very strange day,the Mayor of  Tomorden invited me to take one of my bears along to the Town Hall for a tour of the beautiful old builing. I arrved with Toddington a "Tod Teddy"and was shown into the Mayors Parlour where this photo was taken we had a super day with the Mayor David Oniel affectionately know as "Budgie" becuase of his passion for breeding budgies. I have decide to see how many Mayors I can get to pose with a bear,

it doesnt get that cold about - 6 at worst -10 and the boats are thick steel so come to no harm, there are some old boats still around in the canal museum that are over 100 years old. The geese and ducks all have to wear skates though  the temperature
goes above freezing during the day a lot of the time just not on uor stretch of canal We are in the shadow of the Pennine way so stay frozen, but it is so beautiful round here we dont mind at all
marinaandmoor021.jpg

Estelle

its colder still this morning  the canal has completely frozen and our boat is stuck fast, in the night you could here the ice creaking against the sides, but it is nice and cosy inside and pretty to look out at. Glad you liked the picture

Estelle

I like to sit at one side and sew a bear, I have bear parts on the edge of the table so customers can see how the bears are put together this usually gennerates conversation.
If I see someone looking nervous about approaching me or picking up a bear I say " feel free to pick him up, they are on their best behavour and dont bite on Sunday/Saturday" ( whateverday it is ) this brings a smile without pressure I also say "hugs are free and one size fits all" I love chatting to people and often end up with friends who keep in touch as well as being customers.  bear_grin

Estelle

i turned round this morning after leaving the boat and thought this looked interesting, the sun doesnt hit our side of the valley for three months now but we can allways see it on the other side
