After much thought I am changing my name to Blue Mountains Bears & Friends...  as I own the domain bluemountainsbears.com I didn't want to confuse anyone by having  too  much of a different name. Quite a mouthful but I think it works as I make Bunnies and other creatures. Thanks to Marie for your suggestion. I hope this is enough of a change and I won't get any more emails...  bear_cry

Thanks for all the replies, The lady has sent 3 emails today and stranglely enough has just registered on ebay today. Perhaps she saw my bear that was listed and got piffed. I  am only selling bears as a hobby and am not a registered business. The name Blue Mountains Bears is not a registered business name, but hers... Blue mountain bears is. I am expecting another email as I have not replied to her. Maybe I should try Blue Mountainz Bearz as it would sound the same but look different???

I think I will have to change my name. Today a lady contacted my and said I can't use my name ..Blue Mountains Bears. She has said that she has been a bear maker since 1989 trading under the name Blue Mountain Bears. This is a registered business name in NSW Australia and we both live in the Blue Mountains of Australia. I had no prior knowledge of the name being used and have not used it to profit from her business. I am thinking of changing my name to Blue Ranges Bears. Any advice Please.

Browen,
I think there will often be similar names, you should keep your name it is not spelt the same and you have not done it to cash in on another Artists work.

The world is always evolving and the internet and eBay are part of it. I have been able to sell my bears through eBay, it is just another venue to use. For me it has given me an opportunity to do something I love and have the joy of someone adopting my bears. If you are able to take advantage of this way of reaching and audience you should not be condemed for it. I can go to my local library and read a good book, I can also go there and surf the web.

Dear Sarah, I am new to the group and to selling my bears on eBay, I can understand getting the feeling your bears will be lost in the normal section. I have listed some bears in the featured section but unless you are getting very high bids the fees cut into your profit so much. It is very disappointing when a bear doesn't sell, you wonder if you are doing something wrong. I treasure each sale I get as it is a  person who has one of my bears and may some day want another. I have listed my bears in the artist section and in  the second caterogy of other, coming from Australia some how this lists my bear in the artist section in the Us and also in Australia. It costs me about $15.00 Au to do it this way, but it is an option for the people who visit the Australian site.
