I LIKE WHAT YOU DID WITH THE (oops caps lock-I hate that thing) organizing

I need to clean up the page anyways

Dilu

Hey Nanc....

be sure to let us know what you do decide.....

Ahhh  Ruth sound like one of those angels that come to help but no one recognizes.

My caveat before any of you enter the MedicalMaze:

                       KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Learn everything you can about your condition so that you can make truely informed decisions

Louise- please give Miss Ruth a hug for me.  She is remarkable in her fight for better care for the elderly.

And if you are praying for a heart attack please add that it be a long long time off-the world still need you!  and so do we. :)

Hugs

Sue Ann it would be interesting to do an informal poll at a major show of the creators and artists....I think we would find a strong correlation to what we are discussing here.

On the same note, when I received my little knittie from our Judi- It was healing.  But here is something nicer

She also sent a larger knit bear-one night in the middle of one of my episodes, which constitutes incredable cramping from navel to toes, i reached out in the dark for a pillow to hold over my tum, and grabbed this knit bear.  just the right size.  I use it all the time know, and it is comforting.....

Here's a song for our intrepid friend PenPen who has a great love for all things with 8 legs :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I am only sharing-I didn't create  :D

I knew an old lady
who swallowed a fly

I don't know why
she swallowed the fly

perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady
who swallowed a spider
it wiggled  and jiggled and tickled inside her

She swallowed the spider
to catch the fly
but I don't know why
she swallowed the fly

perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady
who swallowed a bird
how absurd
to swallow a bird

She sallowed the bird
to catch the spider
that wiggled amd jiggled and tickled
inside her

she swallowed the spider
to catch the fly
but I don't know why
she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a cat
Think of that
She swallowed a cat

She swallowed the cat
to catch the bird
she swallowed the bird
to catch the spider
that wiggled and jiggled and tickled
inside her

she swallowed the spider
to catch the fly

But I don't know why
she swallowed the fly

perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a dog
What a hog!
She swallowed a dog

She swallowed the dog
to catch the cat
she swallowed the cat
to catch the bird
she swallowed the bird
to catch the spider
that wiggled and jiggled and tickled
inside her

she swallowed the spider
catch the fly

but I don't know why
she swallowed the fly

perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a horse

She's dead of course!

There you go

Karen has the answer....Artiste bears one of a kind....maybe when Marion comes back she can write it in French.

People seem to like things in Fancy Francoise

di

Dilu

Well,

1. logically thinking it through; if she were going to copy anything she can certainly do it easier when she receives the bear.  So that doesn't seem like the reason.

2.  Logically thinking how we are here, greedy little gollygusses wanting piccs of everything everyone is doing....we love piccs, and ask for them all the time

3.  Is it possible that she too loves piccs, is excited, wants to see
now?  kind of like us?

4.  If she has nefarious intentions she going to do it anyway...

So the thing to think through is, are you as a mom adopting out one of your cubbies, uncomfotable sending pics?  If you are maybe you could forget she asked....and wait for her payment to clear...

Also can you check up on her- doesn't ebay have something where you can read comments about the buyer of your stuff just like they can read comments about you the seller?

I would not get excited until I read the comments and gleaned what kind of person she is from that.

Any help?

hope so

Dilu

Dilu

Oh I AM SORRY ABOUT THE EARRINGS.  Ouch!

Does he know?

My honey wouldn't remember giving them to me so he would never get upset if they went missing....

Lets hope they still turn up.....miracles....

Dilu

Dilu

That's exactly what I am looking at/for.  I am wondering how many started out for the comfort for themselves,(me), and ended up giving that comfort to others....and how their health is now and how far they feel they have come both psychologically and spiritually?

ITS THE old are you better off now than you were before the crises-and how long did it take for you to heal from the crises?

We already know you've come a long way-Has it changed your spiritual outlook at all?  do you still feel that you need the comfort, of has the comfot getting and comfort giving kind of rolled into an integrated part of your psyche?

What do you think?

We could have a challange.....

Or intercal could have a contest and the winner gets a yard of mohair!:lol::lol:

Three bears as exactly alike as possible using a specific mohair they need to get used up....hmmmmm

I guess its a good thing they don't listen to me :D

Actually this is very common in the quilting world.....The mags and stores do challanges all the time

Dilu

Does anyone know how they do it?  You read in the mags, limited edition of 10 or something....and I always wonder, how do they do this the same over and over....

I have tried and am not able to do it....Viva La differance

Dilu

PS Thanks Shelli !

I am playing around with a 5 piece head and am really jazzed with the shape I am getting, plus it allows me to have big old honking noses.  I really love noses!

Shelli  Geek   Shelli  Geek  hmmmmm

Janet!!!  Oboe?!?!?!  you have got to be kidding!

Oboe is a four letter word.

I am so impressed.....

I should know

I went through college, the first time, on a music scholorship-Piano and yep-oboe.  But I confess I haven't dusted off my Loree in years.  I use the mandrel to stuff though-well since I'm not making reeds...

My worst oboe story- ugh it still makes me cringe.  It was summer in Utah and there was this summer program "music at Snowbird"  which was a ski resort.

We were doing the same old same old  but fun-B's 9th-with some of the Morman tabernacal choir and I cant remember the rest of the program.....that's how long ago it was.

However I will never ever ever forget that it started to snow-In July-and while we were doing the last movement .

There was this horrible sound-like a bone breaking.

Have you ever felt so sick you though you would throw up right on stage?

I had an awful crack.....

Talk about despondant.  However, lucky me, there was a guy in Salt Lake who was an expert on repairing cracks and other assorted musical maladies.

And Siegfried was as good as...... used.....:D

But still a Loree.

This story will mean nothing to anyone but Janet....but I thought I would share.

I learned oboe because the band in high school didn't need piano and I had a desperate need to be away from home as much as possible-Not too bad-had a full scholorship 3 years after picking up the first oboe.  The scholorship was an interesting thing-either BYU in Utah.....or their campus in Laiea Hawaii.

I took the one as far away from California as possible

I love that you play-my toughest piece-Strausses R. concerto.  Yikes...

Congratulations....I am so impressed!

WOW

Danni:  Whats a DAG?

Pen
I love that your aunt was in the Salvation army-band

"put a nickel in the drum

save another drunken bum"

Maybe you don't know that one.

Wow everyone has such good solid ideas of what they like!  It's neat reading what you all had to say.

If music be the food of love, Play On!

Shelli-

I just heard that high heat index combined  with high humidity can cause migraine symptoms-and its not sinus as most people-me-commonly think. Hmmmmm

I am afraid my posts the past to days might be a little wonkygoof
because of the migraine/headache symptoms....so forgive me----

Of course if I only logged on when I'm headache free I would NEVER logon....that sounds soooooo boring...:D

love you guys
even when my eyes are crossed and my spelling atrocious

Oh You guys!  What a fun thing for a Saturday morning!

Thank you

Shelli- your babies are precious

Danni- ditto-so cute so huggely

Jane- I embroider my paw pads too-  very cute and lucious colors!~

Hayley-How cute- congratulations!  They are wonderful

Paula-  wonderful and I love that you have them outside for the pics..Your avatar bear is too wnderful

you guys are just going to spoil us with all these wonderful photos

Dilu

Jazzy looks like she had some of my schnaps and tea...how cute she is!

Dilu

Louise, it is just fine if all you talk about is bears.  Dont believe anyone who tells you differently!  They are uninformed and obviously in need of counselling.  All of us here will support you all the way!  Send them to us, we can make believers out of them....

I make my gollies in groups of `10-12 and I make them all different sizes...I find that by the time I start embroidering the mouths I have the inspiration for who and what that golly is, personality name etc.  So I guess its the mouth- oh and if one of them comes out cross eyed or something.  That's always fun!

Daphne

Honey did you throw anything away when you were cleaning?  I prefer to think of what you were doing with the supply closet as careful management of your resourses. :D

Cleaning just sounds like work

Dilu

PS  dont go to any psychiatrist or psychologist who doesn't have a ted or gol in the office....I do believe this to be a dangerous sign.

PPS  When you consider the investment we all have in supplies, mohair etc I can see why this would be a priority in a fire.....I would grab some of my dad's pictures first and throw them in the pile of mohair....

I hang my mohair-in a closet in the sewing room-  I use skirt hangers.  this way I can feel it, look at it, .  It is in sections, golly hair, minibear fabric, reg bear fabric and synthetic-The synthetics way at the back-(my least favorite)

No room in your sewing area to hang your mohair?  Well, Hmmmmm  does your husband REALLY need all that space for his shirts?

I think it is very interesting that so many of us are disabled or have debilitating illnesses and we gravitated to bears/gollys.

Perhaps because when we started we were needing bearyhugs.  But then when we saw the reception and realized our bears/gollys were bringing visual hugs to others  it inspired us to try something different for making a differance in our little world?

And perhaps that difference we perceived also inspired us to keep trying instead of living in our own little PITYPLAY-  that's what I call it, unless I am in a festive mood and then it's a PITYPARTY.  Hmmm.

I have decided I simply will not die until I have used up all my supplies and that should take years.  By the way there is nothing that says I can't add to the collection!

I don't know.  But it bears (ha ha ) some pondering on the subject....and do our epiosodes of feeling sorry for ourselves lessen the more into this bearygood obsession we get?

For myself I believe this is true.  I think I still have as many episodes but am anxious to get over them so I can get back to "work"  Also I find that it is something that occupies my mind durring bad episodes....what if I did....or how about a golly that does that....

I would be interested in knowing what you guys think, from the psych nurse point of view but also on a spiritual level.

I think there is something special that happens when we make bears and gollies.  Judi ( i hope she gets back soon) sends hers out with a little cross and a little heart that says ' made with love."  I cried when I saw that, because I knew, beyond a shadow of doubt, it is true.    And I was so humbled by that special touch.

Am I being hormonal, overy sentimental, or do you guys feel something along the same lines?

Let me know, please....I always need to know how we are wired, why we do what we do....

Gollygoodnight to all of you

Hugs

Dilu

Dilu

Of course I meant it literally.  I just didn't spell it right-I am sure it has something to do with my ice tea.  But I did think you were clever

I was thinking about an artist my father once knew who made pictures using butterfly wings, really elaborate unbelievable pictures-fancy ball gowns on fashionplate ladies.....indian ladies.....

But maybe we don't want to have Pen wake up in the middle of her night log on and see this....so I will stop......

Yep...Shelli....you are most def. a leg up on me and my poor rambelings.
Your last post was truly poetic prose.

He said that kids should be put in a barrel and sealed up and over they go in the Niagra Falls.

When my son was 12 I thought about this long and hard.

He's still with us so I guess everything is ok

I'm sorry PenPen-it was late afternoon for me....and I had been sipping crystal light peach tea mixed with peach schnaps-

Oh Stop it all of you!!!   If you haven't tried it I don't think you should be making fun of it~  besides- I am not a heavy weight with drinking...Although I used to love Long Island Ice Tea-  can't handle it anymore.....oh welll

Bye....exercise is calling, I guess I should do some ambeling out to the spa.....oh this is so hard....

Remember the one with Mae West and WC?  I believe its that one
I think the one where she is on the train and says those famous words  "Is that a gun in your pocket or are happy to see me..."  How that got by the sensors is anyones guess.

I love WC  Remember what he said about children when they turn 12?
