She is adorable!!!!
A very nice bear! It sure doesn't look like a 'first bear'.
My only suggestion is about the picture, I would take it with a natural light, the red light might not do him justice!
You might also use waxed dental floss, it is quite strong and easy to find!
I agree with Jenny here when she says that it is not art to take a Build a Bear teddy and doctor it like that. They should at least do the Teddy themselves. I might add that the idea also is not totally original. I might lay money on what gave them the 'inspiration' for such creepy stuff. Has any of you ever heard of- or seen any of Gunther von Hagens work? I bet you have. The man who takes dead people bodies and do plastification and show them to the public.
I don't want to open a new debate about it, but I'm pretty sure that the idea came to them that way. They just took a teddy and did something that they were sure would shock. Big success with it. I'm sure they are making money and all, but somehow I don't think they enjoy it like we do!
Or maybe they do....uhm....that gives me really the creeps, thinking one would enjoy doing that to a Teddy!
What a cute little mouse!
A fantastic hug Joanne, they are all gorgeous! I put myself into a collector shoes, coming to your table and having to choose just one, or maybe two....a really hard, hard job! I'm sure it will be a huge success, a very well deserved one!
Lovely as always!
Well deserved, she makes beautiful creations!
I have an Etsy shop but haven't had much luck there.
I almost always sell through Bearpile, sometimes on e-bay.
I like Etsy though, it is easy to use, very well made, and fair about the costs. Give it a try, and see if it works for you!
Good luck!
What a gentle and noble expression he has! A wonderful handsome bear!
Happy birthday Sue Ann!
Thank you Lisa!....he already left for his new home...the hardest part was telling my children that he was sold, as they didn't want me to 'send this one away too'....they get really attached to my creations as they see them taking 'life' from fur to completion.
I also find them quite repulsive and disturbing. I had noticed them some time ago on e-bay. I think they might not be intended for 'traditional' teddy collectors, but for people that love the macabre and unconventional. It is true that here the teddy is used purely as a symbol, and as such to create a strong and disturbing contrast.
Not my cup of tea.
He has a beautiful face, full of life and very expressive. You always do wonderful creations, but I agree with Becky, this one is really special.
Oh, a very happy new owner I'm sure! Darby is just precious! I love him!!
Thank you dear Pink!
What a lovely bear! I love his face
Thank you Leanne, Becky and Nan!
He's adorable....and I love his felt toy!
Herzliche Danke Conni!
Well, thank you all so much for your kind praise, it has been great to work on this one....and it is great to feel appreciated!
I have been working on this new design for a baby raccoon lately. I have finished him yesterday. I haven't done his accessory yet, but I already had some fun cuddling and holding him for his first pictures....and I want to share them with you!
Have a nice WE!
Wonderful!
A lovely little panda! I just love how you did his paws!
Wow, she is really stunning. Fantastic job!
