Hi
I've attached some pics of the four most recent bears I have made (I've made 6 or 7 in total). I would like to start selling my bears; well actually I don't really want to part with any of them at all because I love them soo much but I need to fund my addiction and my partner is not a fan of what he calls 'dust collecting soft toys'.
I would really appreciate some honest feedback as to if people think they are sellable as I don't want to try and sell them and look a fool because I have seen some of the amazing creations on here and on other websites and I fear people may buy one of mine and be frightfully disappointed when it arrives.
I have finally got around to taking photos of the finished bear. I think he turned out alright in the end.
ooo sounds very interesting I wish I could be there to see your presentation.
As a maker who has never attempted a realistic bear but would love to in the future I would be interested in hearing about how to do the realistic eyes and jointing. I know there are such things as lock line etc but how to know where to put wrist joints; multiple neck joints etc would be fascinating.
Good luck
Thanks everyone. I kinda knew the best thing was to unstuff and fix from inside but thought there may be some secret trick to avoid it.
I have spent my day today sorting it out; his nose seam is now secure but I couldn't help but feel the additional work on his nose was noticeable after being restuffed (probably because I had trimmed the muzzle before the seam popped) so I have given him a slightly wider nose than previously planned to help cover his 'cosmetic surgery'.
I'm really rather pleased you all helped convince me; all be it a pain in the bottom; to take the longer option as I know he will withstand time better now.
I shall post some pictures of him once I have sewn his ears on, waxed his nose and attached his head to his body.
Thank you :-) (not sure how you all get the lovely little pics of bears come up)
Hello
I'm desperate for some advice from you wonderful fellow teddy bear makers. I'm quite new to teddy bear making (am on bear 6) but the one I am currently working on has been going really well until today :-(
I had stuffed my nose nice and firm and knew it was a good stuff as needed pliers to pull the needle through for the nose thread base layer; but then as I was trimming a little more fur around the nose before sewing my final top nose thread I noticed that the stitching on one side of the nose has burst very slightly!
I'm totally gutted as I did double stitching; I have no spare fur as it was a vintage crushed mohair I had come across at an antique fair and I only just had enough to make the bear. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can repair it without taking the whole head apart? I could literally cry as this was looking like being a really nice bear :-(
I can add pics if need be

Kat he is truly gorgeous; I love his expression it reminds me somewhat of the look my son gives me when I've put him in his place so to speak.
I'm sure he will find a forever home very quickly
Well done he is lovely :-)
I just want to give him a cuddle! Such a friendly face
Thank you Pink and Renee xx
Thank you Becky & Renee
I have tried all sorts of crafts and creative stuff since I was a child when my nan got me hooked on knitting, crochet and cross stitch. I've always loved making stuff but never really got that feeling of 'this is my thing'. But since making my first bear last year for my daughter I have been completely addicted to wanting to make more and felt like 'this is my thing'! I quite literally cant stop thinking about when can I fit in making another and have ideas running through my head at night lol.

This is my latest bear who I have named Claude. I tried a few things out that I had read in the fabulous library section (thank you all you lovely bear makers for sharing your skills!). His made from long but semi sparse mohair; has cotter pin joints in all 4 limbs and his neck. I waxed his nose using Paula Carters online tutorial (thank you Paula it really is a great tutorial with all the pictures) I stuffed him less firmly with the hope he would be a bit slouchy which didn't quite work but I think I know how to do it next time.
Thank you for taking the time to look
This is George; he is my third bear which I have made from some lovely golden wool fur, he has felt paw pads and has cotter pin joints in his legs, arms and neck. I've been reading lots of interesting stuff in the library and am going to try out different things for my next bear.
Oh my goodness I think my mother inlaw has the exact same teddy at her house also with missing eyes! I am visiting her later today so will check to see if he has a label or anything else that will help identify him.
WOW WOW WOW he is absolutely stunning!
