Hello Bearmakers
  I went to the Grapevine Tx bear show and was amazed at the bears the people had made. They were all beautiful and the themes that they set for the bears were great.  I was so excited and motivated to really get starting making bears like I want to but I just don't have the time until after April 15,08 I work for H & R Block and we are really busy.  I notice that each bear was stuffed differently some where heavy some light and my questions is what could you stuff the bear with to make it heavy?

Has anyone made those 1" bears I guess they are 1" they are tiny bears I saw those at the show and they are very pretty I like to make things by hand and was thinking about giving it a try. I would like to know what your thoughts are on those tiny little bears.

I have not posted in awhile, I have had so much happening that I just read a few post and get off but since finding my bio father and turning a year older on tuesday I have got this spurt of energy and no I am back into making bears and everything.

           I have not posted in awhile,  I love all the bears everyone is making,
I have been dealing with a lot finding my real father and dealing with the MIL , and starting a new venture into real estate , kids going back to school   now I am back into my sewing and very excited about it. 

Can someone explain to me how the challenge work?
Where is the best place to buy TB/doll fabric?

Is there anyone in the DFW texas area that teaches TB/doll classes?

I Love everyone collections!!!!
I don't have any pictures right now due to the fact that we just moved and  all my things are still in boxes.
My Collections consist of Teddy bears, Barbie Dolls, Cloth dolls, Dolphins, Salt & Pepper shakers.
I am in the process of collecting horse figures for my oldest son and tiger figures for my youngest son.
I collect mugs for my husband collection.

  Now that my life is settled now from the holidays and the MIL issues. I am getting ready to make bears and I am going to make a bear for my Husband for Valentine's Day and I wanted to know when you make your bears do you make them a little different for the holidays? (ex. make the face a little different etc....)

  When you are making minis what is the size of a mini? Should it be under 5"?I ordered two kits from Sassy but I would like to design and make my own.
How do you get into designing do you follow someone else's pattern and then change up some things to make it your own?

I got into bearmaking because I love teddy bears and I love taking fabric and seeing what it comes out to be when I finish.

It sounds like to me Grandma wants some attention. It also sounds like grandma has a lot of hurt and disappoints there that she has not dealt with in her life and the only way she knows how to deal with it is to lash out at other people. If grandma don't like animals you have to make sure when you go to visit that you don't take your pets with you to see grandma. You over come evil with good. I understand where you are I am in a similar situation (MIL). Sometimes it is good not to go around our love ones for awhile, because of their attitudes, personalities etc. because it brings us down and that is not good. We have to enjoy life as much as possible everyday we don't know what tomorrow holds for us but we can enjoy the moment we are in. grandma is carrying around a lot of hurt, pain, disappoints that she has never talked about and who knows you might be the one to get to the bottom of it and help grandma become a better person in her attitude and way of thinking. Talk to her and find out exactly what it is she wants and see if you can do what she is asking and if not come to some kind of compromise.

I am interested in all of the above ideas, esp since I have no clue as to what they are. I am just getting started in bearmaking so I am looking forward to learning all I can. I have two mini kits that I ordered and getting ready to make those. so I am game for any class.
