Sounds like he came from someone who loved him very much...I know this is no help but I still think it is true!
What a sweet baby...I love her ears!
He looks like he is looking for something to get into!
Oh my this is a subject I am really worried about. You see, I really believe it has all been done before; we just put it together differently maybe. If I make a traditional bear am I stepping on the toes of Steff? What about Winnie Pooh? The reason I study the Gallery is to get ideas of how I would like my bear to look! I recently drafted my own pattern for a bent leg bear (that has given me fits) and, lo and behold, I recently saw a bent leg bear almost just like mine! Did I copy this bear? NO! But they are still alike...is that copyright infringement? If you put ears on your bear are you copying Steff? How about a hump? Or, a small tail? Like I said, it's all been done before and unless you are just copying another's bear????????
OK Joanne...now I feel terrible. How on earth do you stay so neat and organized???? I have a room, about 12 x 14, that is home to my laundry, cleaning supplies, sewing, doll making, and bears...and what ever else I get into. I have shelves all over the walls and stacks all over the floor. I am starting to get real claustrophobic in there! Wish you could come organize me...
Oh I really love this bear...what a girlie girl she is...
Your bears are beautiful...best of luck to you and them!
She's a sweetie...good luck with her.
Very handsome bruin indeed! Wish he were mine!
WOW, Gracie is a beauty. Someone is going to have a wonderful machine!
Are you kidding me? Who would pay such a price for a regular old bear pattern???? AND add $10.00 to ship it? What is he shipping it in, a gold envelope?
I have forever been looking for some cotton batiste for soft bear dresses...
Also, does anyone know a good source for cotton organdy in the US?
I can go into the menu on my all in one printer and increase or decrease the percentage...watch though...if you let it sit for a few minutes it will revert back to 100%...
All patterns should indicate whether or not the seam allowance is included or not...
Ready to hibernate? Cute!
Oh my, she is very sweet!
What a cute little ducky sprout!
Hum...I never thought of that! I will take a 1/2 yard piece of something I have and see what fits on it...good idea!
Oh she is amazing!
Yes Sue, I have one too and I am going to have to use it for this pattern...
The only thing I came up with was perhaps making the legs two pieces...slashed at the knee area. I was hoping someone would suggest this with success at doing it but alas no one has. I may try it with some cheaper material!
Oh boy, no gaps! I am a seamstress and I can see where I could get so much more out of the fabric if I could turn some of the pieces upside down...drives me nuts but the nap or fur runs in one direction! I have thought of making the pattern a bit smaller...that is the only solution that makes sense...I just hat to because I love her size but I also don't want to buy so much mohair at such prices! If I have to buy 1/2 yard pieces I am going to make her a tad bigger...
Oh how very sweet!
Richard, you are exactly right...that is what it said to do. I don't know if it would help me or not but I don't intend to do that pattern anyway. I get a pattern and look at it and think boy, if this were this way and that were that way and this was changed to this...oh well, I might as well make my own pattern!
I have a problem...I love the new bent legs and arms on my latest teddy however, they take up so much room on the mohair! On a fat quarter of mohair I get everything except one leg...A one legged teddy??? I really can't afford to put 1/2 yard into each bear and like to keep them to 1/4. With the straight legs there is no problem but I love the way she sits with her bent legs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I have run out of ideas!
