On the other thread I wrote Dougal McLaugherty....but I'm now thinking Giggles McLaugherty.  He's looks like he's just about to have a good case of the giggles. Giggling because we can't find his freshly hidden pot of gold!  bear_original  bear_wub
He's a sweetie Jodi, you certainly bring smiles with every happy lil' one you make!!

Hi Jennie,
They're small round beads (no loop for inserting, just 2 holes to thread through) made from black onyx.  You can usually by them by the strand in sizes like 1-4 mm (+/-).

Hope that helps! bear_flower

Judi, you are most definitely in my prayers.  It's no secret I'm a big fan of St Francis of Assisi, well his best friend in life was St Clare. She's the Patron Saint of eye disorders and she will be with you bear_wub

I got my copy of TBR last night and it's an awesome cover and story!!  Taking people through the planning, intricate detailings and timeline of a creation is fantastic!   You're an inspiration Judi and should be so proud!  Please take care and know I'm thinking of you

I'd like to clarify what I meant by "ignore them".  When I suggest this I don't mean literally turn your back  on a person at your 8 foot table or to pretend that they're not there..that would be kind of an odd situation and probably make you look like the loopy space cadet in the end! bear_grin
You handled the situation perfectly in diffusing her comments with professional responses to her questions/"concerns".  Rather than stooping to her level and granting her the heartfelt or emotional response she sought from you (or anyone), you "ignored" her comments and spun them to the positive professional.....you won!!   bear_flower  There are other times when the literal "ignoring" is priceless.

Only advice I can give is: Ignore them. That basic bit of info every mom tells their kids and it works! When a person is tactless and confrontational as this women was there is nothing to do other than to ignore.  It keeps you professional and in control as they walk away internally spinning from not getting a reaction from you.  The only reason a person would do what this woman did is to get a reaction. If you give her none...you've won.  bear_flower

ewwww...Aleta, dump cake sounds yummy!!!  I'll have to give it a whirl with the wheatfree stuff and see if it works. I'm sure it would.  Cherry with chocolate would be sinful!!  YUM!!

This is simple for me... thick cut homemade french fries loaded with tons of ketchup. When I get stressed I need salt.  The close second would be mashed potatos with tons of (nondairy) butter sitting next to a pile of broccoli covered in melted (nondairy) cheese. Afterwards I'd have a piece of dark chocolate to curb the sweet crave that always follows the salty crave bear_grin
Now I'm hunnnngggrrryyy!!

A physical therapist cringed when she saw my mini sewing posture
She suggested holding the items up higher too.  When I said it was more strain to do it that way she suggested putting 1-2 pillows across my lap and resting my elbows there.  It's worked pretty well and the pillows don't negatively affect your elbows like a hard surface would (ever get that numbness or stinging in your elbow/forearm after typing for a while while resting on a hard surface?). One word of caution while sewing this way...cats think you're inviting them to sit on fluffy lap pillows and play with string, it's their world of course bear_grin
For work station height during assembly maybe one of those folding breakfast (in bed) trays, or a short child's stool, or something like that would work for you. (??)  You might even just get away with a simple plastic storage container flipped upside down.  I have an adjustable office chair in the studio, so I raise the chair up and down as I need to. It was on super sale at Staples a few years ago.
Hope something there helps you out!

Lisa,
Alton Brown ROCKS!!  I love the way he explains everything, his humor is the best.  I really like the Unwrapped show too.  I love watching how things are created and made (imagine that?! bear_grin ).  The food challenges are so inspiring...the sweet ones are my fav...cakes, gingerbread, sugar arts..it's fascinating to watch.

Aleta- a builder and a designer!! When I win the powerball (which will happen soon!!) will you fly out to PA and create the cottage of my dreams? bear_wub  It could be your east coast showcase home  bear_original
Your mom sounds lovely.

Jane - You've got an entire household of creative souls!! I've just started to dabble in woodwork, nothing at all fantastic, but I do like the functionality of it all.

SueAnn- You should be proud you've got some amazingly talented people in your life!  I envy (in the best way) anyone who can master music and composing..dance as well.

Tami- Aaron's work is awesome, just awesome. I love his style. (my hubs not the creative type either...but like I said earlier my human calculator bear_grin )

Shelli- Your Dad's a very very talented man. What a gift! And how cool that you created an online site/gallery to showcase his work!

Sarah -Isn't it nice having a photographer around?! I would have been in serious trouble without my sister's brain to pick!  bear_grin  Share pics or links if you can.  (am I sounding like a broken record?? Sorry I LOVE pictures!!!  bear_grin  )

Lisa.. bear_grin ...PAHlease..you're stunning.

Imagine the press that would bring to the teddy world.  "And the winner of the Pillsbury Bake Off and One MILLION dollars is teddy bear artist ___________"
Oprah, magazine write ups... imagine all of that!

Tami- I DID catch that Oprah.  I love Paula Deen, her laugh is infectious!  I was cracking with them when she dropped the little dish into the bowl and stuff flew up on her sleeve...she just had a laughing riot with it all. Long before bears my first love was cooking and all things food (kitchen gadgets, books, attending food shows, etc).  Paula's been a fav of mine for a long time, she's a hoot!
