Happy bunny Mable !!!!
Coats thread......
There are different yarn court on those thread so Lisa I am not sure if you have got the different yarn court of thread.
As I am in the garment industrial, coats thread are the best machine sewing thread in our trade.
I never face any problem using those thread.
Even our own garment production for heavy duty uniform we do not have any problem with it....
( But of course that time we will use a heavier yarn court thread)
So if you are facing problem with those thread, try with some heavier one 40's/3 ( regular what we are using are 40's/2)
Good luck !!!!!
I used to sew my whole bear by hand stitching but after I start my own design, I just can't wait to see how it will look like.
But I hand sewn the head and paw pad by hand only the body, arms and legs are by machine.
I have a industrial JUKI sewing machine and it work just fine...
( I have start making my dolls cloth on this kind of industrial machine since I am 12 years old)
There is no problem to control small sewing allowance,
as there is a pressure foot that you can control exactly what size of sewing allowance you want.
I can easily complete sewing a bear in 10 mins
So I am not sure if like this my bear will still call " HANDMADE" or not?
Because in Taiwan now people like " HANDMADE" so ....
But I do all the drawing, design, trimming, scuplting, head and paw pad by HAND.....
But during travel transit in the airport, I will bring out whatever part of my bear that need sewing and do them by hand.
Otherwise it will be too boring to just sit and wait and waste time.
Or machine and hand are all just fine to me
But I think an industrial sewing machine are good .... you will face less troubles during sewing
PS: I have another Singer machine that also can make embroidery ....etc and it is giving me too much problem while sewing
7th of Aug this year is our Chinese Valentine's Day.
It is base on chinese lunar calendar on every year 7th of July.
There is an old sad love story at the back of this day.
Legend has it that a weaver fairy princess fall in love with a cowherd.
When fairy's father find out and he seperated them from heaven and earth.
Only every year on the chinese lunar calendar 7th of July the fairy princess and the cowherd will be able to see each other with the help of magpie making them a bridge between heaven and earth.
So usually on this day it will be raining because we think both of them are too happy to see each others.
So Rosy is create for this chinese valentine's day

Wooden discs = hardboard discs ??????
Intercal hardboard discs is it a wooden quality???
The photo for me look likes it is wooden discs right....
Actually this is one of my friend asking me about it. Sorry !!!
If anyone knows please kindly let me know. Thanks!!!
Intercal is selling both of them the same price. But in some of the other website they are selling hardboard more higher price.
This is why I was confused about it. I know not the expensive one are the good one. But just really wonder why???
Thank you so much for sharing the experience.
So now I can use either of them as well as I add the metal washer.....
I really want to have my bear to pass down to many generation and not having a broken arms or legs
If any people have other experience please kindly share with us.
Hardboard discs or Fiberboard discs ? Why?
I am not sure if anyone have post this topic before. ( Or maybe this is a silly question ? )
I check in the library for joint and did not find the answer. I really want to know which one you think is better?
I tried both before and found really no much different to me. ( But I am really newbie at bear making... )
There is a bear artist she told me it is better to go with hardboard discs.
Her explanation is that fiberboard will be broken after some time.... ???? Is it ????
But another artist told me the kits she bought from Germany some famous artist are also using fiberboard.
So I am really confuse which one is better?
Please help !!!!!!
