Lots and lots of familiar "faces" on the list! Congrats everyone!!!
Way to start the New Year!!!
You and yours have a great day too Sue Ann! And all you travelers do be careful. I know the East Coast is a mess right now with snow/sleet/messy mix for driving. Anyway, enjoy all the good food, family and friends!
Thanks Maria! The sweetest of Thanksgiving wishes!!! I'm going to try to avoid consuming too many calories and the DH is already "working out" so he can burn some off in advance. LOL!
P.S. Love the bear in your avatar!
I was reading the "professional bear artists" posts and found it very interesting. I then (after reading Bobbie's post) got to wondering just how many of us are still around?
More to the point how many are still around on TT reading my post?
Hi Sandi!
I'm kind of around but kind of not. I lost my teddy "mojo" over the past year and a half. I'm flip flopping in styles and wallowing in self pity. That pretty much keeps me busy right there! LOL!
Sorry to hear about your Paypal account. Several of my dolly friends also found out the hard way about raffles. Your raffle was for a very good cause and I hope it's cleared up soon for you. I'm glad you were able to raise such a generous donation before they cut off your account.
Oh Lisa - how rotten for you! I can sort of empathise, with competition bears appearing in print, cropped beyond recognition, and/or with the caption left off........you feel so disappointed, frustrated and powerless.
I hope they DO sell well - your little cuties are so good!
big huggies
Maria
Thanks Maria! So far one sold -- one of the Pocket Protectors. The show runs until January 6th so I hope they do okay!
Thank you all so much. I feel kind of silly sniveling about that all night but it did kind of bother me. I will for sure ask if I can submit my own photos next time. It is hard to let other people photograph your work because you are connected with that work on so many different levels. I've decided to hang in there and if they ask again next year I will let them know how I feel.
Thanks again for all the wonderful advice and support.
The coolest thing ever! Congrats to your hubby!!!
I was recently asked to participate in a Gallery Show. There were no show fees but the Gallery does charge a commission. I sent in the six pieces that were promised and right off I felt a little uneasy about the way the show was being promoted. It seemed the promoter (not on this forum) was really concentrating on promoting a few "choice" artists and the new artists (like me) were kind of being ignored. Then, it happened. The promoter took pictures of all the items and put them in an online store (which I knew they were going to do). Well, the items that were being promoted are almost sold out even though the Grand Opening of the event is not until tonight and supposedly the online store does not open until tomorrow. The pictures of the artists pieces that were being promoted are lovely whereas the pictures of the new artists are terrible and the pictures of my pieces are awful to the point where I am even embarrassed to let people know about the whole thing on my Blog. I take real pride in my work and it hurts me that my pieces were treated this way. I almost feel like contacting the promoter this morning before the show opens and just telling them to pack them up and send them home. What do you guys think?
P.S. This is the first show I've done in over a year and I thought it would be perfect since I could send the items in and not attend which has kind of added to my disappointment.
Congratulations!
Very sweet! Congratulations!
Welcome back -- nice to see you here again!
Congratulations!
They are both fantastic (that walrus is too much!). Congratulations!!!
Nice to meet you Dawn and congratulations on your new position as Editor!
I don't do many shows anymore but when I did my credit card service had the option of "turning it off" when you were not using it saving you the money in fees. You might want to check it out with your credit card service or go through a company like Discover Card (I think that's who I had mine with -- it was two years ago) Merchant Services.
Very nice!
Cool! It must not have made it's way to the US yet or Amazon.com would have notified me. I can't wait!
Yes, it is sad. I haven't seen a Teddy Bear Magazine on our local bookstore shelves in AGES. I see plenty of doll mags though. *sigh*
That is great! You must be so proud!!!
Well I got so excited that I went to Amazon.com and set it up to be notified when it's released. Woohoo! Kathy is just the sweetest too.
Wow, I've gotten a couple of personal E-mails from people and have thought -- why am I getting this E-mail. I better tell them to check their settings on their lists!
Aw, that is so sad! Poor guy, I hope they can help him!
That's good to know! I'll have to check it out!
Fabulous! Congratulations everyone!
