It's never a dull moment in the den these days, isn't it? Couldn't believe how quickly Hope managed to gunge up the camera lens, after Lynn had got it sparkly clean..............and yesterday's antics were just priceless. We are just so fortunate to be able to follow this little bear family

In case anyone missed this.....the Ted and Lucky den cam is now up and running............ and those two guys are a delight! Treated us yesterday to an hour or more of slow-mo "wrestling" - Lukcy wanted Ted's bed, and Ted wasn't budging ..............priceless!

Interesting - despite some peeps seeing up to four cubbies - the researchers can't make out more than two (And I'm inclined to agree).............time will tell!

Great screen shots Bobbie! I watched all that earlier - amazing isn't it? It's so nice to see Hope being a really good big Sister to the babies...........
Funny  -we are seeing a lot more of these cubs than we did of Hope at the same stage - maybe Lily is a bit more relaxed about motherhood. She must have nerves of steel tho - those babies are NOISY!
Incidentally, they are much slower to develop than say, puppies or kittens - the eyes don't open till four or five weeks. There's a LOT more den viewing in store, while the dust bunnies multiply.............

Terrific, isn't it? And I can't believe how GOOD Hope was      But what a traumatic day - BRAVE Jason venturing out to fix the den cam in lethal cold - he's everyone's hero.

For those of you who want to catch the repeat of episode one........it's aired at 6.30pm UK time tomorrow (Sat)...........I'll leave you to work out time difference!   The two further episodes will be shown same time, at one week intervals - ie - next 2 saturdays.
Incidentally, the BBC are releasing it on DVD (won't work for the US tho)..........you can pre-order from the BBC shop, and it comes out early Feb.
Recorded  it here, and watch over and over(!) - briings back SO many memories! And seeing my favourite again.....One-eyed Jack.........he is just the sweetest boy! Seems to love sitting there, on the deckng outside the WRI cabin  - remember standing there with Sue, in fits of giggles watching this huge FAT bear shuffling forward on his bum  - easier than getting to hs feet?! Oh I want to go back.........sigh........

Same here with post - we waited WEEKs to get an ebay purchase FROM America - I think the Deutsche Post/Customs have stepped up securty here too. Add to that the appalling weather both sides of the pond, with airport closures etc, and post is just going to be slow.........

You're right there Bobbie...it's all rather a matter of luck, seeing any movement in the den! I was fortunate last night (our time) to catch Lily giving Hope (a sleepy Hope) a severe grooming!The BBC programmes are an utter joy (even if they do call for a lot of Kleenex!) - fabulous footage of the bears, and Gordon is so nice, and such fun.  There were a lot of posts on Lily's FB page after the first prog, from newcomers, all wanting to know if Hope survived - they're the lucky ones - didn't have to sit thru that awful 5 days when Hope was lost!
Remember when Sue posted those magic words..."she's ALIVE"? I still well up just thinking about it.
And here we go again..........!
