For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
It sounds as though you definately have the bug
He is great and he does have bags of personality, as to jointing thats what hubbies are for  isn't it???
I attended my first workshop and although it is non beary, my head is buzzing with ideas, wings, more wings flowers........................
I am sorry piccie in shadow but the first was way out of focus, it is a dragon fly, the wings are only attatched at the base and along with the body are free (not sewn on the material) It was actually quiet easy to make, apart from cross stitch I have never done any embroidery
Picked mine up yesterday but have only just had chance to look at it
It is packed with TT's
On the gossip page we have Samantha Potter and Melissa (mjbears)
On the american tribute page we have White Forest bears, Daphne Back Road bears, Penny Seamore Collectibles and Carson Creations
Features
Louise -Teddy Tale bears
Lisa -Twin Cubs
Tami -Dolls n Dreams
Bobbie -Creative Design Studio
Chissi -Catherwood Catherwood bears
I really is a very packed issue    for TT and TBCI
I am really sorry if I have missed you  forgive me
You guys are amazing, I now know mine is from 1944 as its serial number is ED305139 and is a 99k
BUT hubby recons his is German?? I always thought it was a singer, trouble is its in the loft, I do remember it had only numbers in its serial no, if it is a singer then its pre-1900
Whats a "featherweight" sorry bit dense, I have a singer its a dream, post war just 1948
My husband has a pre war one with a shuttle that goes side ways and is alot lot fancier not sure what age that is
Hi Daphne, you can get it on amazon.co.uk for £15 and the postage to US is £6.94 I think do check the small print though
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listin … 983&sr=8-1
???If you look further down the list the books located in the US are about £100
I am quite new and am very in awe of that make sculpted heads, patience of saints they 'ave
I "fly by the seat of my pants gal" as Julia Roberts put it
I don't even use a rubber  its PEN and paper for me and a sideways profile, for the proportions and just keep fleshing the little devil out, cut, sew, go where it takes me (actually I do mess about with the head side pieces and the gusset though, its called faffing)
Hi Lisa, so glad you talked to them
I have to ring them myself to find out about advertising costs
I will look forward to reading your article, I love those pages and it is packed this month with TT'rs, Bobby, Tami (dolls n dreams) god Tami takes a fabulous piccie, thinking of sending my bears to america for a photo shoot and Bobbies bears look amazing
Sorry if I've not named you (am at work TUT TUT)
Hi guys if you go to WH Smiths and have a look at "Collect it" there is currently a teddy section, it is by Kathy and is very nice BUT from what I can remember out of 4 pages 1 page is and advert possibly 1 and a half.
I looked but did not buy, the other content did not appeal and I was left feeling short changed, it would have been fantastic introducing artist bears to another collector group, if TBS had carried on as well
Lisa, as for TBCI they are really nice people I am sure they will not make you grovel, Melissa of mjbears was to be in TBS but now is in August TBCI
I like Wendy love to learn, it floats my boat
I am not one to give advice on this as I am not in your league but I sold my first bear to America recently and the reply I got kinda surprised me, I have been worried that I would not develope "my own style". The lady said "the thing I liked about your bears was they were all different styles" So I decided not to worry that no-one would recognise my bears as me and do what I want and feel like Please do not think that I am suggesting yours are all the same (I WANT ONE
) I am only trying to say that if its a different type of bear then I am sure you will make that style perfectly and gorgeous and I am also sure you will gain new collectors from this.
I suppose I am trying to say is, carry on making those sweet bears (I WANT ONE ) but if you feel like doing something different, go for it, the world changes. I would just see it as an evolving process, better to do that than continue on the same line and then get so fed up that you stop, that would be a tradgedy
Good Luck
I hope you have a great time at the fair, TAKE PICCIES
Congrats on the TBCI article, can't wait
Love Honey Bee, gorgeous fur
Ooooh what a good idea, I'm up for a bit of a drooolll
I love this ad as well chuffed there are going to be more, it's the best one since the Gorilla, the drums and Phil Collins
Thank you Christine, I am going to stick to 6 at the mo, and then work my way down 1/2 inch at a time
I did post on your new minis, but it got lost, they are fanatstic
Gemma I am green with envy, she is just adorable Wendi makes such gorgeous bears
You will have to take a piccie when they are all together and keep us updated, its so nice to hear from a collector like you, it spurs you on to make more and better bears
Thank you Pauline and Lynnette, I like to knit and that size is perfect, it is knited on bamboo cable needles with ordinary DK and is such a joy to do
Pauline I have just picked up my second commission, a bear for my mums German RAF school reunion group, its for the raffle at the schools main event in Cardiff next year and will be my biggest to date at around 18 inches
Great tip Dilu
Tami if I prick my finger the magnifier comes out
Barbette, Sorry to hear of your accident, hope its better soon
XXfingers hubby does the pins    though he would tell people that I had beat him up
Melissa, Laurie and Christine, thank you for your kind words
She is now safely in the hands of Jane and is now called Sophie
A really lovely bear, wings look fab and I just love the curly mohair
Well, I have just completed my first commission, some of you may recall I tried a 4 inch bear that was eventually pinched by my daughter, never again
Well I went a little bigger at 6 inches and he was sold before he had his ears on, the lovely lady called Jane decided that he needed a friends and this is the result, she has no name yet but is 6 inches as well, I have found this size quite comfortable so maybe I will go a little smaller.
Hope you all like her, I knitted the cardi as well
Wow and they are so you, you just know they are Christine Pike bears on sight, YUMMY
I have to agree with everything thats been said, she is also my fav so far and you are a one woman dynamo
The necklace is a cracking touch, its nice to see something a little different
Thats true Wendy but I just wondered I suppose how many countries in the world are their and how many countries are represented here, I bet it would be surprising
Oh yes daydreaming definitely, it may sit in my head for weeks, months I also imagine bears I have made with different features, big noses, long faces, can be quite fun
Hi everyone, I don't normaly post a general question, most of the time, anything I am curious about has been asked
Are we truely global, I was just reading the new members page and wondered if there were any countries that TT didn't have a member in, just curious
Maybe we could suggest a few and if there are members their they could reply or others could on their behalf, we could end up with a list, ex-pats living in that country count
too much time??!! well actually I have masses to do but was having an indulgent peaceful moment here as the other half has had to go to work this morning
OK
1. Bostwana?
