Well, Thank you everybody for your compliments!  bear_original

Peter, you are right, I shouldn't think automatically that bears only have loving mommies....I know there are loads of loving daddies out there as well! bear_laugh

Truciolo-tt2.jpgTruciolo-tt4.jpgTruciolo-tt3.jpgHello,
I've been struggling to find some time fro my teddy bear making....and decided I would begin this year with a mini.
This is Truciolo, and I made a special necklace to carry him, so he can have fun following his mummy around... bear_grin

Francesca

Congrats to everyone!

Francesca

Joanne,
I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I sincerely hope that everything will be fine and that she gets better.

Francesca

He looks soooo huggable! I love the shape of his body and his proportions, and such a soft looking fur... bear_wub

Francesca

It's the same for me! I make a girl about every five or six boys....they come out like that, don't know why...even with my own children I couldn't make a girl, only two boys....I just won't go on until I get to six for the girl! bear_grin

I get a lot of negative reactions too... although it might just be because most kids my age aren't interested in sewing

Gosh, Heidi, I didn't realize you are so young! Your bears are so nice, and they show a 'maturity' that make me think people think you weird are really the weird ones! Or they are just plain jealous. You are lucky to have such a passion, and gift, for teddy bear making, and to have found it so soon.
Having a creative hobby, in my opinion, is something that makes our life rich in a way that no television, radio, videogames can do. Maybe at your age many of your classmates are interested in sports, and nobody will think them weird for that. Sport is nice....but when you are 70 years old and can't do sports like when you are a teen-ager...you can still enjoy making teddies. So, who is the smartest? bear_grin
I also was a teen-ager interested in arts and crafts, I wish I learned teddy-bear making then. but it took years and Canadian friend to get there!

Adorable! bear_wub javascript:insert_text('%20:love:%20',%20'');

I always got very enthusiastic reactions. I think it has to do with the fact that in Italy (I come from Italy really, even if I live in Switzerland) teddy bear making and collecting is not a common thing at all, so they are quite amazed at seeing that you can really make such a thing as a teddy by yourself. Of course some people tease me because of my 'weird' hobby, expecially friends, but they do it in a very kind and funny way. My husband has mixed feeling because he likes to see that I enjoy doing it, and he is very supportive, but sometimes he is jealous of them... bear_grin

Being on Teddy Talk gave me a perspective I really needed, which is of teddy bear making from the inside, of people with the same passion, which is great! bear_flower

So cute, and a very lovely outfit! bear_wub

Francesca

He's very sweet, I'm sure he'll get plenty of hugs in his new home! bear_original

Before I bought kool-aid on the internet (see previous post if you are interested in the site), I found this very helpful chart, where they give you the name of the most famous kool-aid flavour and connect it to the colour you would get on mohair....interesting!

I love your rabbit! He is full of personality, what with the outfit and everything else!   bear_wub

Pat,  I don't think it works on sinthetics, because it works on the proteins of fabrics- 'animal fabrics- (silk and mohair have proteins) but for example it doesn't work on cotton because there are no proteins in it. This at least is what I have read on the subject....

Francesca

This bear is endearing beyond words!!! bear_wub  bear_wub  bear_wub

Francesca

Becky, I see your point.
I have browsed through this site for at least a month before realizing that it would have been even nicer if I were registered user, so that I could take part in the real action! bear_grin
Now I'm having great fun, and really feel connected to the Teddy world!  bear_thumb

Your bears are very nice and sweet! bear_wub

If Francy had good luck with it, I'd say go ahead and try it - Just be sure to wash/rinse the fabric really well when you're done to get all that sugar out.  bear_happy  The color is the same, I suppose.

Becky

Becky, I used the one without sugar added....I just suggested a site where she can get the unsweetened version if she doesn't feel sure to try the 'sugar' one.  bear_original

Francesca

Paula, I have no suggestion, but if you find no solution, I bought kool aid with no sugar on the internet, from a british site. It's quite cheap, and I already tested it. It works great!
