I think you can make a copy of the design you want.
Cut off the outline and draw at your mini fabric.
(Of course it will only be the outline so the inside details you can draw by free hand. I guess you will not be using a very complicate design is it?)
I did embroidery on my feet paws but I always draw in free hand.... just to make my life easy
She is really too cute.....
Your chef bear are so cute.....
The latest 4.5" bear I made.

He is so cute.....
I'm never comfortable with the term 'bear-artist', so I always describe myself as a teddy bear designer.
I like how you call " Teddy Bear Designer"
Artist sound very serious and not reachable ......
But I can only call myself now a bear maker as I do not know how to design them my own yet.
Hope in real soon I will try to make design of my own and then I can call myself a teddy bear designer too.
I start to make bears ( felt bear, cotton fabric bear) on 2006.
But when I look back to them I feel like they are like kingdergarden school student work and look funny.
I make my first mohair teddy bear on Sept. 2007 by taking a class from a Taiwanese bear artist
Now I have made 11 bears....
I am still a newbie
I do not design the bear patten my own.
I hand stitch all my bears and size between 6"-12".
I can make at least 1 bear a week....
But I do not pressure myself for bear making quantity as I want it to come naturally .....
Relax, Relax, Relax.....
Bear making help me relax my pressure and make me happy
I always thought bear artist can make a living by selling their bears.
Look like I am wrong.....
I have a full time job in a garment trading company.
Bear making is for me to pass the time at night while I am travelling for my work.
I am still using others pattern as I am really new in bear making.
I did not think of selling my bear to make my living as I have caculate and know it is not enough.
So I keep all my bears and let them accompany me....
Maybe one day if I know how to create my own pattern for my bear, I might try to sell them.
Not really for the money but when you know someone out there like your bear and willing to take out their money to collect them will let you feel a great achievement isn't it?
I am always travelling because of my job.
Feeling boring and lonely after work and of course lots of pressure at work too.
so I go to the book store and see what craft I can make to pass my time and release my work pressure.
When I see a book with teddy bear, immediately I know that is what I want.
I start with just felt fabric, cotton fabric .... then I learn about the mohair teddy bear....
Once I start, I can't stop....
I don't feel lonely anymore as those teddy bear that I made travel together with me....
First a piece of felt nose cut with the size/shape I want and with the test eyes on the head.
So I can see if that is the face I want then I will start the nose first then the eyes.
I like to do the ears at last. I mean even complete the whole bear with body joined...
So I place the ears with the ears pin and see if that is the position I want for my bear....
After few hours or even few days if I find it right then I will go for the ears.
