FenBeary Folk

My Loubear samples arrived this morning and they look really lovely, I have checked the exchage rate again and they look really well priced

FenBeary Folk

Thanks Marion, it was just the shock you see, have you found your tent adequate as it seems we can get the tent cheaply without the lighting on ebay (uk)

FenBeary Folk

Hi chloe, Ok this gets weirder, I remember being told that we would have to line up for her and their being a protest, I think that she had just come to power poss 1979, I actually started in 1978 it was Miss Pannell last year as head and she had been there forever since about 1930/40

FenBeary Folk

Very surreal cos judging by your age your mum probably was there when I was.
I did gce's in 1984 and A levels in 1986   bear_wacko

FenBeary Folk

YES YES YES

Fellow KG girl Rossetti house but back in the 80's I'm old compared to you
My daughter will be at the college next wednesday sorting her A levels out (x fingers on grades)
I had a funny feeling on one your pevious posts that you were fairly close to me
GOSH GOSH GOSH I can't believe it
I lived around Signal and Sharpe rd all my life before marriage then we lived in tied housing near Bitchfield out towards Corby Glen, we moved to pointon fen for our daughter to go to Aveland at Billingborough from Ingoldsby primary school, but I am A GRANTHAM LASS through and through

FenBeary Folk

Yes the pop up variety is the one I am looking at
   I work in Grantham and was born there and lived there til 21 and went to school there

Hi chloe I have my beady eyes on a lighting tent on ebay at the moment, having seen one in the other post about workspaces, there are no lights with it but it is 80cm (£3.95 with postage of £9.95!! I think) I too had wondered how good it was, if anyone knows

PS that would not the Grantham Journal would it????

FenBeary Folk

Hi Jane they look gorgeous, you must be one proud mum

Hi Jenny, I understand that for muscular pain, heat is the worst thing to use, I suffer badly due to ironing for a living about 12 years ago and long term computor abuse, for intant relief I use freeze spray (opposite to deep heat) and I also use voltarol pain-eze, you can buy it at superdrug/boots, its magic, a doctor prescribed it to my boss as she was having the same problem but you can buy it over the counter. You still can't beat exercising your neck on a regular basis

Now a delicate question, do you snore? years ago I had similar problems with coughing and my chest -upper part and when I went to the docs I had to have a chest xray but it came back clear, when I went back the docs asked if I snored, I was a bit indignant but had to say yes, he looked up my nose and found that my nasal lining had swollen and was restricting the air (at this point I had no nasal pain -that came later) The result of the swelling was that I was breathing through my mouth and hadn't realised it. This meant that my throat and down my windpipe was drying up and causing a racking cough, he presribed flixanase, which I have used frequently since, you can now buy this over the counter as well. Over the years I have found that I can go long periods without it but when the weather changes my nose reacts and this year is quite bad, it may explain why it occured this time last year and due to your nose being extra sensitive the fur just irritates it. Hope some of this helps bear_wub

At last an answer, has everyone else missed the bit of flesh, am I the only one
I may be a mature long married woman but one can still appreciate a good bit of stuff

FenBeary Folk

Oh Shel, I didn't mean to swear and say the

For the record I am 41 in October  , but have been having symptoms for the last few years bear_wacko
Although the mood swings are definitely down to those around me

I used to love perfumes until a few years ago when I found that it gave me a severe headache, my all time favourite is Dior Addict by Dior and I also have Beautiful by Estee Lauder, I can just about wear a very small amount of these. I did realise that the avertion to smells is very likely due to the menapause bear_cry

FenBeary Folk

How absolutely adorable, my daughter fell in love with him and believe me at 16 years old that is a compliment, her exact words were "why can't you do something like that" bear_wub

FenBeary Folk

What a sweetie pie and crochet as well bear_wub  bear_wub

FenBeary Folk

Hi Richy, its all down to algerbra, the formula is a(squared) + b(squared) =c(squared)
OK for the longest side 2m(sq)+2m(sq)=longest side(sq). So 4+4=c(sq). Give 8=c(sq). therefore longest side is 2.8284m ie 282.4cm(hope you are following bear_cry )
For the next bit I would just measure a square of sides 59cm across from your corner along the top edge and then 52cm down from your corner along the side edge, remember if you need to add a seam allowance. then cut that square out and you should have your shape   bear_thumb

FenBeary Folk

I know what you mean we have a gorgeous tan/black long haired german shepherd who is 18months and I have eyed her fur a few times -contemplating how I could use all the fur she sheds, I could certainly stuff a lot with it but how to weave it onto a backing eludes me at the moment

Go Chloe Go
How envious a spare room, now how big is my stupid bathroom , oh yeah 12 foot by 12 foot!!!!

UMMMMMMM partition wall, new doorway, move radiator, electrics, lighting zzzzzzzzzzzzz sorry dreaming again

FenBeary Folk

Good luck on the listing, I have decided that due to this delay I will list 5 or 7 day auction, I had read that they are doing some changes to various ebay sites so maybe things will settle down

FenBeary Folk

I would........................cry -big time bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry

I used to do a market stall selling teddies, hand knits, jewellry etc but only the hand knits were my own creation, unfortunately had to get up at 4am on sunday mornings to go and I found that I was then ill the rest of the week, at my day job (stress had become a physical illness). So I think I would be devastated if I could not make any more teds.

PS Whos the hunk, that was a nice surprise :photo:

FenBeary Folk

Thanks Daphne, I will try a bit of furtive pulling, you see we have a fabric warehouse and although the faux fur is rubbish their cushions are stunning, they come in all different types and colours of faux fur (only the fronts mostly are faux fur) so I figured that I would need at least 2 to make a reasonable bear which can make this idea expensive, I had thought to keep an eye on when they sale, which they do frequently. I have lined my last bear which although fiddley was not horrendous.

I think I must be really hooked as I tend to see bears in every piece of fabric, rug, cushion and clothing that I see

FenBeary Folk

You lot have so inspired me, I just have a few boxes that are under the eave of the stairs in the living room but I am definitely going to organise my self, now first...........a cup of tea perhaps.................planning thats the key

FenBeary Folk

Hi Peta , I am having the same problem, I used to list odds and ends directly onto ebay-UK using their template and they listed straight away. Now I am using auctiva and listing in the US and I schedule for a 6.30pm listing (1.30am UK) and find that it takes about 6 hours for the item to actually appear in the catagory but in My Ebay they are there immediately. I had just assumed that as they were from outside the US and I was using a different listing tool it took longer

FenBeary Folk

Julie, I never thought that you didn't belong, to have a resident bear artist photographer is fantastic. I am sure most of us newbies aspire to have our bears on your cards.
I have only had a brief go at needlefelting and my first atempt was a bit amateurish, yours on the other hand look very professional, certainly as good if not better than most that I have seen bear_wub

FenBeary Folk

Another sweetheart, you are sure giving us a treat this weekend bear_thumb

PS. go kick some butt, it will make you feel better, put them all in their place

FenBeary Folk

They are absolutely stunning but I have to say Little Charlotte has won my heart bear_wub
I do so love all your bears, like Pauline I will have to cross fingers for the lottery, I am now glad I can't get to Hugglets, to stand in front of your stand and have to choose, thats the thing of nightmares, it would be just too hard
