Hi,

I am currently making a Awning/Canopy. I am just awful at math. To make it "Square" I need some help.

Untit-2.jpg

As you can see. The measurements are as in the drawing, But the drawing is NOT to scale. (   )

I need help with two things.

1. How "Wide" is ?
2. How long is the longest line on there?

Oh, I think I need to go back to school to learn some mathematics!!!

Thank you so much for your help! I am so behind, I need to get this made up asap.

I've already made it wrong once

Hi Richy, its all down to algerbra, the formula is a(squared) + b(squared) =c(squared)
OK for the longest side 2m(sq)+2m(sq)=longest side(sq). So 4+4=c(sq). Give 8=c(sq). therefore longest side is 2.8284m ie 282.4cm(hope you are following bear_cry )
For the next bit I would just measure a square of sides 59cm across from your corner along the top edge and then 52cm down from your corner along the side edge, remember if you need to add a seam allowance. then cut that square out and you should have your shape   bear_thumb
