I am very proud of the tree skirt in my big tree photo. My mom made it. It is piece quilted & has yo-yos & buttons on it. Just my type of thing. My mom is sooooooo great!

Thanks.... I love Christmas. I got a little behind this year & my husband insisted that we NOT put up my village. I'll post a picture aof a former village if I get a chance.
Sandy...If you want a skinny tree, I'll buy one & send it to you. Trees are already 1/2 off here. 75% off after New Year.

Hi Daphne,
I belong to a Yahoo Group for punchneedle: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Primitive_Punch_Needle/
It is a great bunch of really talented PN artists. It is worth it to join the group just to browse the photo albums.
Linda, who runs the group has a great website: www.woolenwhimsies. com. She is always very helpful!
A good needle to start out with is a Cameo. It isn't as expensive as a Super Luxo (what I use) so if you decide PN isn't for you, you won't have too much invested.

Thanks All,
It was lots of fun to do this article. I can highly recommend the Pumpkin Tiramisu & the Yams & Rutabaga. The Cilantro Dressing is one of Scott's best recipes too, but use 2 bunches of cilantro instead of one.
Thanks also for the complements on our kitchen. It was one of the things that sold us on our house. It is 8 feet X 35 feet. It has (I only know because we bought knobs) 39 doors, 19 drawers & 2 false fronts. We refinished all the cabinets & our friend (who is legally blind) built us new drawers & drawer fronts. We have our laundry at one end and it is still big enough for us both to cook in. I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but Scott tiled the wall behind the stove with some tiles we bought back from Mexico & some cobalt blue tiles. We got a lotta love in that kitchen. Lots of sweat equity too.
Enjoy the recipes!

I have been away from my computer since the Schaumburg show. A valve on our furnace broke so we haven't had any heat. Forutately it has been fairly warm (40 degrees at the coldest) It has been too cold in my work room to sit and do anything. We are using a space heater our sun room.
Anyway....my husband (and I) were featured in the Milwaukee newspaper for a special Thanksgiving article.
I am adding a link: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=679971

I am still for dyeing with Rit, I love the results using tans, browns, pearl gray, black, and most of all green. The green gives a little bit of an old moldy look. If you haven't tried dyeing yet....you should!

Hi All,
I am feeling much better & will be up & dancing before you know it. You asked for a picture so here you go. My office. You can't see all the knives but you get the idea.
Thanks for all the well wishes (even Shane).
Amy
Hi All,
Thought I would tell you about my day yesterday. I got up & started getting ready for work and was putting away a few dishes that I had set to dry on a towel the night before. I thought the towel had nothing more on it & picked it up to put it away & forgot about the paring knife that was on it. The knife hit & punctured a 1/2 inch cut in my bare foot. It didn't hurt much, but was bleeding quite badly. Had to go to Urgent Care. I am really lucky because I didn't hit any tendons and only needed 2 stitches.
I got to work today & there were all sorts of plastic knives suspended from the ceiling (one of them bloody) with a sign that said "Watch Out For Falling Knives" I have heard every knife joke or pun ever thought up. Contributed a few myelf!
The only bad thing was I couldn't get to my bear supplies to keep busy. Spent the day watching movies.
I don't feel like the sharpest blade in the drawer!

PS Am still going to the 4th of July parade tomorrow. I am watching...not marching!
I have the air conditioning on & the ceiling fans....I also remind myself that in 6-7 months if could be 14 Below, & I hate that even more. I have converted to working on some other projects for the time being. Am going to post in the friends for sale stuff.
Stay cool!
