My name is MacArthur and I just wanted to say hi to all the amazing teddy bears here on TT!
Hi everybody! I've been away from TT for a while but now I'm back. I so appreciate this thread. Because to me, this is what TT is all about. Helping each other and encouraging each other. I've been so intimidated in the past by other people's creations, that I simply felt inadequate to share anything here, but I know that's just my "stuff" and I need to get over it. And I am. We all have a special talent, and it looks like you are discovering yours, Nan. For me, it took creating many bears before I looked one in the face he touched me so much I started to cry. His name was Rafferty. And he was totally imperfect. I think this form of artistry grabs us up because we never know who will be the result of our efforts. It's just amazingly addicting and fun! So, Nan, keep going and don't be embarrassed that your bears are not perfect. Improvement. Progress. That's all any of us can do. Looking forward to those pictures
Hugs, Vicki
Thanks, Becky!
This is Benjamin, my most recent creation. Available on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/113766704/ … teddy-bear or if you prefer, Bearpile http://www.bearpile.com/item/61464l
Thank you! Vicki
I, too, experienced the overload on fb and subsequently just deactivated my account. I had over 200 "friends" of which I knew few. It became overwhelming as a few of you have mentioned and I felt guilty if I didn't "accept" a friend request, even though I had no idea who that person was who was asking to be my friend. Only that they were a "teddy bear person." After being off of fb for over a year, I was missing some of the activity there. So, my solution to all of that was to start a "page" and that is where I keep all my teddy bear "friends" and news about my own bears. I keep my personal account limited to family and "friends." It is just easier and so much more fun. As far as the market and collectors goes, I've been in this business for over 20 years. It has its ups and downs, but the one thing I know for sure; no matter what the market says, I can't quit making bears It's just in my blood and won't let me go!
This is a very informative thread, as noses are challenging for me also. I got the nose gloss from Sassy Bears.. http://www.sassybearsandfabrics.com/. Vicki
We are all interconnected in one way or another.. That is a goosebump kind of story! Thanks for sharing Vicki
Hi Sarah... I love the blog! I'm adding you to mine! Hugs Hugs  Vicki
I, too, have been feeling the stress.
I am trying hard to take baby steps as far as internet activities go. I started with a My Space area (but I can't do the invite friends thing); then I started hanging out here in TT and have expanded to blogging and FB (although I'm still struggling with FB). I don't want to get so overwhelmed with it all that I just roll up into a ball and quit everything. I have gotten to know a few of you through my blog and TT and it is great fun. So, my motto these days is simply to "keep it simple" and try to just do one thing at a time. For me, its the intergration of the best of both worlds.... my quiet time with teddy bears and my social time with you.
Love you all, Vicki
Oh my, me too, please! I've been on Facebook for a little while, but haven't taken the time to make friends yet. Looks like now is the time! Vicki Peres
Hi Jodi, Nice to see you again. What a friendly group of people to come and visit when one is feeling down.... or up for that matter. Hang in there... like your banner says, paraphrased "we all get by with a little help from our friends" Hugs to you.. Vicki
Hi everybody! I have a list of ideas a mile long, it seems, but ideas and inspiration are different. Inspiration for me comes from the sheer joy of seeing something that I "must" create.. and sometimes that comes from just not making bears for a while. My inspiration for bears today is that I'd rather be making a bear than working on my website (as you can see I'm working hard on my website here at TT) ha...
oh well, I love you guys, Vicki
I've been somewhat of a "closed" person much of my life. I think when I discovered teddy bears, my heart opened.
Vicki
SWEET...... Go ahead and put them on Etsy... I'm always nervous about offering my bears for sale, or even posting them. Go for it!!  Vicki
Very cute!! I really like the mohair and I'm sure he can see just fine with his "good" eye.
Vicki
I love his face, too! Great job and thanks for sharing. Sometimes the bears we love are the hardest to give away... that makes them the most special of gifts. Hugs to you, Vicki
You were beary brave to cut up that priceless shirt.... oh well, you made a priceless teddy bear. I love the pic! Vicki
