my-bears-0025.jpgHere is my first miniature bear. I have made crocheted ones also.

I have made cloth and crocheted items since my daughter was little.  She is 42 now. I made my first miniature bear 3 inches about 10 yrs ago. I fell in love with them. I can keep a lot more in a small place then the big bears. I live in a very small house. I have worked most of my life and now that I finally retired. I plan to make more bears cause they make me happy. I think all my family still have one or more of the bears I made them. My husband has a lot of medical problem and the mini bears are easy to take with me, to doctor appointments. It makes time pass while waiting and I really enjoy doing it. It keeps my mind and hands busy and the little bears keep me company. Hope  everyone loves thems as much as I do.

I never thought about using white glue thanks. I see very few young people who sew these days.  I had one 10 yr. old girl that wanted to make mini teddy bears and I taught her the basics and she has made a few. She likes making something she can be proud of from all types of scraps of material. Thanks for sharing all the knowledge ;you have with the rest of us.

butterfly-bear-3-a.jpgbutterfly-bear-2-a.jpgbutterfly-bear-1-a.jpgI tried making wings for my small bears after I recieved a birthday card with bears that looked like butterflies. I used organza fabric but I don't know anyway to keep them from fraying that will not take away from the wings them selfs. Does anyone know something I could use?

teacher-bear.jpgI mostly make miniature bears 1 to 5 inches. I havelots of patterns and pattern books. The bear I am using for my picture here is the one I made with breast. My daughter is a teacher and I wanted to make something different for her birthday. That is how comeI made this one to be the teacher and then made small ones in a class room setting. Put them all in a small fish bowl with a light on it and she fell in love with it.  She said the outfit I put on the teacher bear is almost exactly what she was wearing the day I emailed her a picture of it. Here is the picture of the class room. Just not to good at tqaking pictures yet. Can anyone tell me how I could buy a copy of teddybear and friends magizine dated April 1998. i saw on line a picture of the bear Mary Daubs done of Freddy and I would love to try and make a miniature of it for my husband. Love this site so many people a love of making teddybears Like I do. Thank for being here and sharing!!!
