For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Some people drive over their mohair, bury it in a backyard, or use thin washes of acrylic paint to smash and alter it. Shelli
Wow! Shelli, is that true?? goodness.. you just could clean your floor at the house.. that's less time consuming....
I just made my first distressed teddy, probably you saw him in the gallery.. I used coffee, oils, sandpaper, whish I used on backed black polymer clay first, so it became "dirty" and when I rubbed my bear it gave a slight grey effect..
Not much info from me ))) I would love to hear anything too!
hugs, Julia

Denise, Sarah, Grace and Vicki!! Thank you!!
I really like the result but I trully hate the process!
Just not my size..
I'm working now on my larger bears. It's so good to sew ears! on a bear which is 13 inch tall instead of 2 inch
But sometime later maybe I will make more.. :D
Hugs, Julia

I made a smaller one. My first bear was Pin and Taya is my second one.
She is 2.4" tall and made of viscose.
Gosh! those ears were a nightmare.........
here she is. What do you think??

Danni, I think he is great!
And he has the look of your bears. Just a bit different because you use different fabric for him. But the rest is yours
I loke him!!
Hugs, Julia
Oh, thank you guys!
you know, I made another one even smaller than Pin. But I agree with you, jared, it's just not my size
maybe I will make them once a wile but not as a beas for sale or so..

Sheila, Marion & Sarah Jane!! thanks!!
I read on this miniature forum that turning is 50% agony of this whole venture... Yeah.. I have to say for me it was all 70%!!
The rest is just fine. working with the head was the most fun part. couple stiches and your needle-sculpting is done!!
I admire all mniature bear artists. Such a jewerly work.
Hugs, Julia

That was tough one...
Don't know how do you girls sew smaller ones but 3.2" is the smallest I could get.
Here is the bear. His name is Pin and he is made of viscose. has glass eyes with eyelids and whites.
I needle and scissirs scilpted his muzzle to make him to look like my normal big bears.
Not sure if I'm going to mae more than 1 but that was quite a challenge for me.
