I like Blue Peter style Vicky, thank you so much!! I'm going to try your way the next time.
I do use coloured waxes, black and brown on black or brown noses, and I use them to age my bears paws too! The ones I have are ezy-wax.
Tee Hee!! Fair play to her, I'd frighten my neighbours to death if I did, well and the fact that I haven't got a dog and they'd think I was loopier than I actually am:lol:
I absolutely LOVE your bears in your avatar, what a beautiful photo:)
Anyway, looking forward to the hellish morning that awaits me real soon...............
Sorry guys, I know I keep on, but what do you take to shows to put your bears in if someone buys one?? I've thought of a paper bag with handles, like a take away bag, but what about tiny bears??
I think panic is setting in...............:o
I admire all you guys who use nut and bolt joints, I tried, I really did, but ended up throwing the bear over the other side of the room and screaming!!!
Frightened the kids to death in fact, it takes a lot to get me stressed, but they did!!
I spent a fortune on them, have used the discs but the nuts and bolts still sit there.......darn things...........
Give me cotter pins any day!!:)
Shelli, remember we are here for you always....................:)
Take Care xx
I do shave, I would look ,like an ape if I didn't!!! I am dark and it SHOWS!!! I could save it up and start needle-felting I guess:lol:
I find it amazing how we can go from one subject to another on this forum, it's great!!!!
He He He He!!!!!!
I love my sleep too:D I wish I could be one of these people who get up at 6am (late for most of you!!) and have the washing sorted etc before the school run and work.................but no, it's not to be:rolleyes:
Instead it's up at the last minute and go hell for leather until we're there!!! We live quite a way from school so have to leave early - OK some days, but when there's no uniform and sarnies to be made.........Can get rather stressful!!!
Not a very organised person, have to be honest...............;)
I'm nearing my show, and being a total 'newie', I quite fancy the idea of a big cloth with platforms, or boxes underneath to make little plinths to sit bears on.
I just wondered what you used, (if you do it this way) it would have to be quite strong as people will inevitably pick the bears up and plonk them back down!!:/
If you don't do this, I'd love to know what you do do..............
Oh also, how do you display your name on your table? In a picture frame?? Or what??
Sorry, terribly nosey!!:P
Ooooh Dilu, you be careful sweetie!!:) Those Gollies huh!?!
Call me thick though, I can't get my head round a quilt on the stove??:/ What do you mean, you sleep there???
Someone take pity on me and explain, or haven't I read the posts properly??:P
Wow that's wonderful, I've been glued!!:)
I have to admit I do have a soft spot for Pandas.....
Ha Ha!! Bless her, I can see that, animals are so nosey aren't they:D
She's beautiful Eileen, wish I could have a dog but my son is scared of them:(
Hello Jane, it's lovely to hear from you, we've all been thinking about you!!:)
So sorry you went through all that though:( Hope you're feeling much better soon;)
Awww Danni:( What gets me is that other sellers, not just bear makers, seem to get away with it don't they?? I tried to put my web page on a listing once, before I knew it was forbidden, and they stopped me in my tracks - but at the time I looked at other sellers pages and there they were!!!
I originally thought ebay would be good to get my site looked at, but no it was not to be. (Mind you, good job, it really needs an update!!)
How annoying aswell when your bear was doing so good:mad:, but try not to get too down.
What's pulse ebay?
Dilu always hits the nail on the head:lol: Love ya Dilu!!;)
Hi Kerren,
I copped out I'm afraid, but it is getting to the point where I am going to have to come clean. She must be picking stuff up from school friends, usually the ones who have older siblings:| I'm thinking about tackling that whole 'becoming a woman' thing too, sorry guys, nothing to do with bears I know, but where do you START!!!:o
ADVICE NEEDED HERE!!!;)
So many thanks Heather, right, I will be trying that..............;)
You're a gem!!
:lol::lol:
 Honestly, you've seen her before!!! It was Dilu who started it but she is sooooooo right!!! I've had my PC rebuilt since I posted her photo before so I'll have to take another - watch this space!!!;)
We could all have our own 'Catchphrase'!!
I'm from South West England where we all talk a bit 'Ooooh Aaaar' (terrible accent!!)
Yeah, 'here here' to Penny's last post, thinking of all you guys, take care.
Hi Rita!!
I think your bear is cute too, but how about making the snout a bit more pronounced/longer?? I love old bears, they've such character!! I also like to dirty mine up, with wax, newspaper print and paint. How about trying to make an antique replica using the BACK of the mohair as the RIGHT SIDE?? Stuff him lightly and weight him, he'll be all saggy like an old 'un!! This way the bear will look bald as if all his mohair has rubbed off. Also perhaps decorate the bear with an old fashioned collar or bell or key?
I study old bears lots to get ideas, books, postcards and even old bears that I'm lucky enough to own, or even at museums, take your sketch pad, but most of all, HAVE FUN!!;);)
Oh Penny, mine's not, he drives to the local shop - literally 200 yards away:rolleyes: He can eat what he likes however and still stay slim, I just look at food and it's STRAIGHT to where I don't want it to be......well all over really if I'm honest;)
Bummer that:lol:
What a sad time for you all, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, take care.
Amanda, I made a bear that looked like Margaret Thatcher!!! Seriously, she was one of my disasters I posted on the forum once, HONESTLY, whenever I say to people, they don't see it at first, then it's - 'Yeah..............':o and then they run off in fright!!!:lol:
I still have her here, I've nick named her Lady Maggie and she keeps the other bears in order!!!
I'm sure Dilu might have suggested this in the first instance actually, but maybe in another forum, what a laugh, Dilu you're so funny, and thanks, I got away with the 'milk thing' by the skin of my teeth, (I begged loads!!):D Phew!!
Tee! Hee! I know what you mean Daphne, but it's the only chance I get to sit and catch up!! Everyone else, well the sensible ones, are fast asleep in bed!!!! Ack but who wants to be sensible;)
